Story
TRULY an all-around gentle, loving, perfect girl, Lucy will make one lucky family so happy!  Lucy, a 2 1/2  year old, 64 lb house trained Shepherd/Husky mix, is gentle and submissive with children of all ages, including toddlers, has a wonderfully even-keeled temperament, is happy to play during playtime and chill during chill time, is great with other dogs, takes treats so gently, has lovely indoor manners (no crate required), will greet you with a toy when you come home or wake up, enjoys a swim in the pool, rides nicely in the car, loves taking hikes, and makes an excellent footwarmer.  *Adopted as a baby, Lucy has a sister Cate. Although they can be separated, we'd love for them to stay together. They are losing the only home they've ever known due to a significant change in their dad's work schedule, which requires him to travel 2 weeks each month.* Lucy  is microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed, and her adoption fee is $600.   ##2079091##

Story
After packing her hopes, dreams, and favorite toys, this five-month-old Shepherd mix recently traveled via the Passage to Freedom Program, stopping at Little Shelter on her journey toward adoption. Looking for a family to call her own, she’s ready for a home with a big backyard, lots of activities, and perhaps some small humans, though she would be a good fit for most any type of household. Learning and growing every day, she promises to be a “good girl” as well as the life of the party! Possessing both brains and beauty, one look into those mesmerizing eyes and we guarantee you’ll be smitten. Stop by to meet the sweetest treat on four paws…we call her Trixie. *Trixie is not yet fully grown or completely housebroken*

Story
We rescued Sidney from a horrific shelter in Memphis, TN. When we got him, he was skin and bones and had some barrier aggression issues (who knows what horrors he suffered there) It didn't take long for Sidney to realize he was now safe and could start letting down his guard. Sidney Poitier has filled out and is truly a stunning dog. Sidney is about 2 years old, and is at his healthy weight of 80 lbs. Sidney is a very intelligent fellow, he learns quicky and is anxious to please. He will do well with a job and/or a lot of stimulation, long walks and hikes. He will do well with an experienced dog person. Sidney loves meeting new people. He has done well with large dogs he has met, however he is would not be good with small dogs or cats. Sidney does show barrier reactivity, however, when the barrier is removed (whether it is a crate, fence or car window) he show absolutely no issues. Because Sidney likes a lot of activity, he will need a securely fenced yard (must be a physical fence, not an electric or invisible system)  He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and on monthly treatment for flea/ticks and heartworm prevention Sidney is currently located in the Middle TN area but transport is included in the adoption fee for approved adopter If you are interested in Sidney Poitier, email cox_ann@bellsouth.net for an application

Story
My name is Tucker. I am a big, lovable, and goofy puppy. I love nothing more than to get love and cuddles from my human. I also love to play outside. I am crate trained and almost completely potty trained.I would do well in a home with another dog my size. Because I am a big puppy, I wouldn’t be a good fit in a household with small children. Although I love my foster home, I can’t wait to find my furever home. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention. If you would like to meet this precious guy and make him part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ Tucker is located in North Alabama with transport available to your area. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. All Friends of Rescue animals are indoor family members. Please let us know if you’d like more information on our foster to adopt program.
