Hello, my name is Grunkle! I am a 3-year-old German Shepard who is looking for my fur-ever home! I am a gentle giant with a heart of gold that loves to meet new people. If you are interested in meeting me, please stop by today! Grunkle asked me to include a quote in his bio: "When life gives you lemons, call them "yellow oranges" and sell them for double the price." - Grunkle StanStray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays

Story
Honey's success story has been a long and winding journey — from being a pregnant, feral dog running wild in rural Mississippi, to being cared for by a loving young woman who undertook a frantic search to find a rescue that would receive and treat a heartworm positive dog. And Pet the Pet Program said yes. After three months of treatment, this incredible dog has received the "all clear" from her veterinarian and we are offering her for adoption. Honey is a 50-lb spayed female, up-to-date on vaccinations, and is about 1.5-2 years old. She is a loving, loyal, comical, and sweet girl with a little bit of attitude. Honey is crate trained, housetrained, and walks on a lead nicely. She is dog friendly and playful with both dogs and humans. Honey will need a home where there is another dog for company — she is calm when there is another dog present but has separation issues when left alone. Honey has a strong prey drive and therefore needs to be in a cat-free household. She is extremely athletic and able to clear a 4-ft fence without difficulty so she will need an enclosure that is escape proof when out of doors. She would make a super sport dog with her athleticism. Despite her rough early months, Honey’s temperament is one of kindness and love. She endured her painful heartworm treatments without reacting aggressively toward anyone working with her. She is still a bit reserved with new people, but warms up to women quickly. Honey's adoption fee is $400.00 and includes her spay, vaccinations, and deworming. Our adoption procedure for an approved application requires a telephone interview, meet/greet, home visit, and vet reference. We limit our adoptions to a 50-mile radius of Ithaca, NY. For an online adoption application, please email Pet the Pet Program at reverence@ottcmail.com. If you contact us and have not received a response within 24 hours, please check your spam. We are NYS Rescue049.

Story
When I got her I was told she was potty trained the lady said she could not keep her and she was beautiful. I was also told she was good with other pets. I was told she has seperation anxiety and would need to be in a kennel while not home because she chews on things. I figured not a big deal because she was less than 2 years old. She just turned 2. She needs a single pet home. she lives in the kennel except when I take her outside to go to the bathroom, eat and drink. She has always been sweet as pie to me. She barks a lot when people walk by or knock. I have the kennel and toys 2 leashes a harness and a collar. Ask me anything

Story
This is the famous Jake who had everyone on pins and needles when he was running scared for about two months! Thanks to numerous help from the community, he was finally trapped and brought to safety! 😍 Jake is getting lots of love from the shelter staff and his shelter family is learning new things about him every day. Jake is healthy and up to date on vaccines and ready to find his forever home. 🥰 Jake will need to go to a home that has experience with the breed. Jake is very loyal and loves to play. He really is just a large teddy bear who also loves to give hugs and receive belly rubs. 💞 We have learned that he is very nervous around men and will need a family that has the time and patience to spend with him and help him learn all the fun things about being a dog. 🐾 His shelter family does feel that having a fenced in yard would be very beneficial for Jake. He is still learning about leash walking and will need some training.
