Story
I was on the side of the road and was being fed by a nearby resident for about 5 days. She posted a plea on Facebook and another resident took action, picking me up and taking me to their home, where they teamed up with SPOT to get me care.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.FERGIE HAS AN APPROVED ADOPTER AND WILL BE HAVING A MEET & GREET SOON.___________________________________________________________________________Meet FergieFergie came to us after her family was displaced due to hurricane Helene..She is 4-5 months old (approx DOB 07/10/2024), best guess, no guarantee is that Fergie is a Shepherd mix - we expect her to be a medium size, to lower end of large adult dog.  As of 12/6 she weighs 38lbs. Fergie is a typical puppy, fun, playful, athletic. Good with kids, other dogs, and is working on her kitty manners in her foster home. Fergie is crate & mostly potty trained-as with any rescue dog (or any dog for that matter), she may need a refresher course for a few days once she is in her new environment. She is spayed, up-to-date on core vaccines, dewormed, current on flea preventative, and microchipped! ____________________________________________________________________**If you are interested, YOU NEED TO APPLY.  Also, a follow-up email to info@safeatlast.net is strongly recommended. To pursue adoption, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the SAFE AT LAST on-line adoption application.  (Click Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Once we have your completed application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email. (So, please check your SPAM.)  Our process is straightforward but involves a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450 applies. YOU CANNOT MEET OUR RESCUE ANIMALS UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.  Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to complete an adoption in Schoharie/Albany County. Thank you for your interest.(Sorry, we will not respond to generic 'check the box,' 'Is s/he available,' 'Can you give me more information' inquiries.)
