Dog Name: Halle Breed: German Shepherd/pittie mix Sex: Female Age: 7 month Weight: 25 lb and growing Medical Needs: Spay. This must be completed by the end of February 2025, and is scheduled through Grass Roots Rescue. Spay/Neuter appointments can be requested for Georgetown, Dover, Wilmington or Newark. We will request the appointment at the location most convenient for the adopter. Foster to adopt families must understand we are given dates and whatever date their dog is assigned by the clinic, is the date they will be required to keep. Because the spay is still pending, adopters must live within an hour of one of the locations listed above, and must be willing to travel there for the appointment. Housebroken: Yes. Has used a dog door to go in and out as needed. Crate trained: Yes. Enjoys her crate. Goes in easily for naps and meals. Good in the car: Yes. Lays in the back seat. Good on a leash: Yes Energy level: Medium to high. She's a typical puppy; play hard then sleep hard. Need a fenced in yard: No, but needs to play and run. Dog Friendly: Yes If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? Yes. Would benefit from having a companion to learn from. Cat Friendly? Unknown. She has had one interaction with a cat. Kid Friendly: Unknown. No kids in foster home. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? I would suggest older kids. 13+ Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Halle is a sweet loving puppy. She loves to cuddle up after getting out her energy. She loves to chase a ball and chew. She can often be found in her crate with blanket if you are not available for snuggles. She is wary of new people and takes a minute to warm up to you, but once she does, she considers you her friend. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
Rogue was a VA service dog. She was placed in a home whos 2 other dogs were constantly fighting and would occasionally attack her. The VA found out and took her back. The second home she was placed in seemed to be a good fit until for she bit her veteran. She was sent back to the VA and scheduled for euthanization. Her story circulated through my job. She was 2 years old and I couldn't let her die. I contacted the trainer and advised her I would take rogue if there was no one else. I received a call for the trainer saying she was to be euthanized that afternoon so I went a picked her up. I already had a dog in my home so it wasn't a burden until I found out she was not dog friendly. It took some work but she got use to my other dog. 6 years later I buy a cat for my daughter. I have the cat a week and a half and rogue bits the cat on the head. That was 3 days ago my daughter is distraught and can't look at rogue. Don't want to give her up but it's my pet or hers. Story
Blu is a large 3.5 year old boy thats filled with love. He has loves all people, dogs, and cats. When first meeting another dog he sometimes tries to hump which can lead to a scuffle, however once the initial meeting is done hes best friends. We adopted Blu when he was a puppy and I was still in the Navy. I recently finished up my contract with the Navy and an adult job here in New Jersey, which unfortunately means much longer hours than Blu has been used to. Unfortunately, and it breaks my heart, he just hasnt adjusted well to the new schedule. Id like to rehome him to a new home where his new family can give him all the time and care he needs.

Story
Quinn Charles! Remember that hoard in Galloway with multiple large breed dogs living in a dark shed in the woods? This sweet boy came from that very situation so other than that his past is unknown. What we can tell you is he is the sweetest boy who loves to give hugs to our volunteers! He is crate trained, loves to go on walks or just lounge around outside. He would prefer a home small children and has done well with the female pups he has met 🥰 If interested in fostering Quinn please send us a message with your email address If interested in adopting Quinn please fill out our application at mamasgonarescue.com
