NOVA is a smart, beautiful and wonderful soul. She wants nothing more than to please and be loved. Beautiful NOVA is the most perfect girl around! She is cuddly, sweet, goofy, well behaved, and always happy! NOVA loves other dogs of all ages and sizes and is a big fan of doggie daycare. She loves dogs so much, we feel she would be happiest in a home with at least one other canine friend. NOVA also loves to play with her toys and can entertain herself for hours on end. She is a clever, active girl who would do great with obedience or agility training to keep her bright mind and body in shape. With her happy personality and comical doggy antics, she is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face everyday. Sweet NOVA is potty trained, crate trained, and only chews on her toys. She does well in the car and would make an ideal traveling companion. She would also be a great companion on a restaurant patio for a little happy hour when the weather is nice . If your top 3 attributes in a new friend are smart, good-looking and affectionate, NOVA is the girl for you. She will bring so much light and warmth into her lucky forever family's life. For an adoption application on NOVA click here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
Rogue was a VA service dog. She was placed in a home whos 2 other dogs were constantly fighting and would occasionally attack her. The VA found out and took her back. The second home she was placed in seemed to be a good fit until for she bit her veteran. She was sent back to the VA and scheduled for euthanization. Her story circulated through my job. She was 2 years old and I couldn't let her die. I contacted the trainer and advised her I would take rogue if there was no one else. I received a call for the trainer saying she was to be euthanized that afternoon so I went a picked her up. I already had a dog in my home so it wasn't a burden until I found out she was not dog friendly. It took some work but she got use to my other dog. 6 years later I buy a cat for my daughter. I have the cat a week and a half and rogue bits the cat on the head. That was 3 days ago my daughter is distraught and can't look at rogue. Don't want to give her up but it's my pet or hers. Quinn Charles! Remember that hoard in Galloway with multiple large breed dogs living in a dark shed in the woods? This sweet boy came from that very situation so other than that his past is unknown. Story
Let’s find our longest resident the home she deserves!! 😁 Harley is our longest resident and actually we aren’t quite sure why. Harley is a 6 year old Shepard and quite spunky for her age. She enjoys being outside and even nice long walks. She is dog friendly but a more dominant dog. She also doesn’t quite understand that cats are your friends and can not be chased so a home without cats is also required. Harley also loves treats peanut butter kongs, milk bones you name it she’s not real picky and will sit quite nice for a good treat 😁 She would love a home with older children also. Please share our girl and help us find her forever home we know the perfect family for her is out there! If interested in adopting Harley please fill out our application at mamasgonarescue.com If interested in fostering Harley please send us a message with your email address

Story
Winston is ready to find his family. Winston is a handsome 3 year old boy who will bring a smile each day.  He is an active dog and was part of the running club at the shelter.  He has done great in his foster home with training.  He loves to learn puzzle games and is excelling  on his basic commands.  Winston wants to find a family who is committed to keeping him physical and mentally active. He would benefit from an adopter with GSD experience who is committed to continuing his training. He has done well with dog savy cats and the dogs in his foster home after slow introductions.  ##1674636##
