GSD/Husky/Lab/Catahoula mixFour year old Dexter W. is a mixture of Labrador, GSD, Husky and Catahoula. His former owner’s parents have recently taken him in and he is just too much dog for them. They describe him as “a fun, smart and energetic companion. He loves to be near us and is a loyal best friend who loves to play.”  They believe he would be best with a family with older children or a family of young adults because of his energy level.  He has never been around cats. Story
Please contact Jetta (Jetta.elliott@att.net) for more information about this pet.Three month old male Shepherd mountain cur mixthis little boy reminds us so much of Scooby Doo. We just had to name him Scooby Doo. He is very sweet playful and he’s going to be a large dog! He is 32 pounds at about 12 weeks old he will be neutered before he is adopted out. He was a feral puppy that it took some considerable effort to catch. He is now walking on a leash within two days. He’s become a house puppy and is just sweet and well mannered.Scooby is currently in Harrison, Arkansas, in the care of Ozark Homeward Bound animal rescue. Rescued pups are transported to your location via the rescue network transport. There is no additional fee for the transport. Pups are fully vetted before they are adopted out, which includes all of their vaccinations, microchipping, Spay/neutering etc. before going on transport, they see a vet one last time to receive one last check up and a health certificate so that the pups are easily registered in your state. we look forward to telling you all about this precious little bundle of joy!   November 2, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Butter is one exquisite boy! He is a 4 1/2-year-old mix of Carolina Dog and Shepherd and has reached his mature weight of 50-55 pounds. He wears a medium coat of red and gold that shimmers in the sun. He is a good boy who knows a few commands including &#194&#147sit&#194&#148 and &#194&#147shake" and gently takes his reward treat from your hand. Butter is very easy going and loves other dogs; however, he is not a fan of cats. We ask that any children in the home be older than 12 years because we feel that a loud home may frighten our dear Butter. This affectionate boy loves giving hugs, being brushed, and receiving belly rubs and his favorite activities are walking and playing with tennis balls. Butter would love nothing more than to complete your home sweet home. ***PLEASE NOTE, EMAILS FROM THE SITE EXPRESSING YOUR INTEREST IN ADOPTING WILL NOT BE ANSWERED. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE REVIEW OUR ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE TO BEGIN THE PROCESS. ONLY APPROVED ADOPTERS MAY MEET THE AVAILABLE DOGS IN THE GSRNJ PROGRAM - WWW.GSRNJ.ORG*** Meet Zia, a 3.5 year old long-haired German Shepherd girl. Zia arrived in the USA from Iceland along with her owner. Unfortunately he fell on hard times upon arriving here. He was faced with the most difficult and devastating decision, what to do with Zia while he returned to Iceland. He was here legally and not taking Zia back with him was no fault of hers. Icelandic authorities have very strict rules on the importation of dogs into their country, even if the dog originated there. With some help from the PANYNJ, the AHS Newark shelter and GSRNJ, Zia is now in foster care. As is often the case in rescue work Zia’s journey has taken yet another turn. Our goal was to reunite her with her owner back in Iceland. Over the last few months we have been working hard to comply with the Icelandic requirements for her to re-enter the country. A few weeks ago we received approval for an expedited application. About that same time the owner decided he wanted to return to the United States. Unfortunately over the last few days everything has taken a drastic turn and Zia now finds herself looking for a new home. None of the issues are Zia’s fault. While she has been with us she has been a perfect guest. Zia is a long haired GSD that is about 3 1/2 years old. She loves to play ball and will chase the ball as long as you are willing to throw it. She also loves water and enjoys frequent dips in the pool. She is up to date on her vaccines and is spayed. She has not been around young children. She is dog aggressive so she will need to be an only dog with a handler with prior GSD experience. Also no cats for this girl. She is very affectionate and will follow her human around. She is crate trained and feels very comfortable in her crate. She has a healthy appetite, eating twice a day. If you are interested in adopting Zia please fill out an application today!
