***Adoption Fee WAIVED***Hi, I'm Arya, a 7-year-old German Shepherd mix with a beautiful brindle coat! My favorite thing to do is play fetch, especially when there's a ball launcher involved -I could chase that ball all day! I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once I get to know you, I'll be your most loyal and loving friend. If you're patient and kind, I know we could be the perfect match. I spent time in a foster home for the holidays and this is what they had to say about me:-Very affectionate once she got comfortable. (didn't take long at all). -All about car rides and an excellent passenger-Knows basic commands. Sit, lie down, her name, "NO!" and even 'stay'-Takes treats gently from your hand-Food-motivated and loves treats-Excellent house guest-Beautifully house-trained-Sleeps anywhere. Floor, dog bed, sofa, and we let her sleep in our bed-Does not bark much-Olympic ball fetcher. Relentlessly runs after them, returns and drops at your feet. Even gives a little nose shove towards you to encourage you to pick it up. -She greets us enthusiastically when we come into the house but does not have any apparent separation anxiety when we leave. That said, she certainly does want to go with you!-She likes to chew on indestructible bones and tears the stuffing out of any stuffed toy within a matter of minutes.Post Adoption Training Scholarship (PATS)At SAVE, we understand that the current economy presents challenges, and this impacts dog adoption rates. To ease the financial burden on adopters and help our adoptable dogs find their forever homes, we are excited to introduce the Post Adoption Training Scholarship (PATS) program. This initiative funds the first five training sessions with a qualified trainer for select medium and large breed dogs, identified in their adoption bios. For more information, please call the shelter director (Jack Griffin) and ask about the PATS program.Complete the adoption application on our website and make your appointment to meet Arya today. We have appointments available daily except Monday. Call the shelter with questions: 609-309-5214. www.savehomelessanimals.org Primary Color: Brown Brindle Weight: 68 Age: 7yrs 4mths 3wks

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE REVIEW OUR ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE TO BEGIN THE PROCESS. ONLY APPROVED ADOPTERS MAY MEET THE AVAILABLE DOGS IN THE GSRNJ PROGRAM - WWW.GSRNJ.ORG*** Buddy needs an immediate foster home to begin heart worm treatment! He is a 3 year old German Shepherd, not yet neutered, and is very friendly. We are looking for a foster with no other animals, no young children and a household that is relatively calm. Basically he needs a Netflix and chill lifestyle while on heart worm treatment. The rescue pays for all expenses! We just need someone to keep him calm and take care of him during recovery. Fosters always get first right of refusal if you fall in love with your foster and decide to adopt. Buddy took a little while to warm up to our testers but started giving hugs and kisses and looking for belly rubs. He was very calm but also might not have been feeling his best so with treatment, that might change. He is also missing an upper canine and has a blue tongue! He warms up to people fairly quickly, likes giving hugs and kisses, and loves belly rubs.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE REVIEW OUR ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE TO BEGIN THE PROCESS. ONLY APPROVED ADOPTERS MAY MEET THE AVAILABLE DOGS IN THE GSRNJ PROGRAM - WWW.GSRNJ.ORG*** Teufel and Schwarz are a bonded pair of German Shepherds. Unfortunately, their owner passed away and through no fault of their own, these 2 are looking for a nice home. Both German Shepherds are very friendly and great with people, and both do well around other dogs. Teufel is incredibly sweet. She's 9 years old and has traditional black and tan Shepherd coloring. She's slow moving these days and won't be up for long hikes, but walks very well on a leash and would love to stroll her new neighborhood. She loves people and LOVES attention. She loves to play with toys and balls. Teufel could stand to lose a few pounds and is very much in need of a dental visit. Schwarz (which is German for "black") is an 8-year-old solid black male German Shepherd. He's a very youthful 8 year old with no trace of silver on his muzzle. He's a bit aloof and very curious, walks great on a leash, and is more interested in looking at his surroundings than playing with toys. He's a little anxious when he's separated from Teufel and really pulls from her confidence. A meet and greet for potential adopters with pets in the home will be required. Both dogs will do best with calm dogs since they are older. They are not good with cats. Although both dogs could in theory be adopted separately, we would love to see them go together into a new home. A family looking for laid back, chill dogs would be the perfect fit for these 2 sweet dogs.

Playful, personable, & precious! Psst! Hey, you—yes, you! I can tell you’re looking for an affectionate 4-legged friend who will fill your heart and home with love. Allow me to introduce myself… My name is Layla, and I’m an enthusiastic, playful pup who gets along great with people of all ages. I also do well with most dogs, and best with male dogs, but I can get excitable from time to time. Being your only pup might be ideal, as I’d receive your undivided attention! Rest assured I’d give you mine in return. While I enjoy a nice cuddle, I’m by no means a couch potato—in fact, quite the contrary. At 2 years old, I’m pretty darn active and fit, if I say so myself. My agility is nothing to sneeze at, so it’s probably a good idea for your fence to be at least 6 feet high. I love to play (whether it’s with toys, other dogs, or people), so I hope you aren’t one of those “all work and no play” types! The truth is, I’m tired of this life and ready for a permanent family. More than ready. I have so much to give to the right family, but I can’t take the next step. That, my friend, is up to you.

Story
Talk about a girlboss! If you’re looking for an overly affectionate, whimsical lap dog, this is NOT the one for you. On the other hand, if you’re searching for a loving-within-reason, loyal-as-anything, work-hard, play-hard pup, you’ve found her! Junette started out as a stray. Fortunately, she was taken in by a rescue and then welcomed into a foster home, along with a few other dogs. She gets along great with everyone in the house—whether they have 2 legs or 4! That includes kids, with whom she does great. Perhaps one of the reasons she gets along so well with everyone is her flexibility and adaptability when it comes to activities. Junette can be very playful, but if you want to chill, she’s happy to oblige. Another of this girl’s terrific attributes is loyalty, which is off the charts! When we said she’s a girlboss, we meant it. Think Lady Gaga. She has so much to offer, and she does so with a somewhat serious delivery. Junette will dedicate herself to being your best friend, always sitting by your side like the girlboss she is. In addition to her attractive personality, have you seen those eyes?! Gorgeous! With 1 brown eye and 1 blue, you’ll have the pleasure of staring into such a uniquely beautiful face every day. At 4 years old, she’ll likely remain close to the 50 lbs she currently weighs…just the right size to wrap your arms around and cuddle. Junette has so much to give a forever family, and she’s ready to do her part. Are you?
