Story
Mystery and Black dog are a bonded pair. Mystery prefers the company of other dogs. She’s not affectionate but LOVES playing fetch and going on walks! Black dog is the definition of lazy. His idea of exercise is moving from the bed to his food bowl. We'd prefer them to be the only dogs in the home just because they share such a strong bond!

Story
Hi! Yes, I am adorable, right! Oh, and my name is Abby, that kind of important too. I'm flexible though if you wanted to change it. I am confident, outgoing, fun and full of joy, plus resilient! At least that's what they say! I was found on the side of the busy highway at just a few months old with a funny walk. They think I either feel from a care or was thrown. Without a skip I was ready to show love and gratefulness to the sweet family that picked me up. I went to the vet, and they said I have a small fracture that required crate rest for a bit and so I did just that. I full rested and ready for adventure and most of all my forever family! I do great with other dogs and people, haven't met many little people since being off crate rest, but will soon. Also about to start dog daycare soon and I hear great things from my furry foster siblings about it. They woof me all stories about it when they get home. Super excited about that too. Since I was on crate rest, I am learning potty training now, but my foster mom says I will be a pro in no time. Food and I are great friends so food will be a great way to train me. I love celery, yup, a kid that loves veggies! So many fun things about me! If I might be the pup for you or if you want to learn more about me, please complete the adoption application. My breed is best guess, but my foster mom is thinking of getting a DNA test to see who my daddy and mommy are. Would be happy to share with my PAWrents if it works out. I am located in San Antonio, TX, but transport is included with my adoption fee. All out of state adoptions with transports gets a health certificate before leaving and all of us are fully vetted to age, fixed, chipped and have rabies vaccine. If you are interested in me, please completed the adoption application!

Story
Meet Mikey: Mikey Likes It, and You Will Too! Mikey is a 6-year-young black-and-white Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and a personality that will make you smile every day! Mikey has been with us for a little while, waiting for some medical treatments and a clean bill of health. Well, the wait is over—Mikey is now fully cleared and ready to find his forever home! Mikey is the ultimate good-time guy. He loves everyone he meets, and he’s especially fond of spending time outside—whether it’s playing with balls, going on walks, or just soaking up the sunshine. He’s also a total people pup, happy to make new friends and enjoy all the attention. Mikey likes it when you pet him, scratch his ears, and give him all the love he deserves!Mikey is not a fan of other dogs and would prefer to be the only star pet in the household. He’s got plenty of energy, so an active home where he can get plenty of exercise and playtime will be ideal. Mikey’s a little chunky right now, and could use some trimming down, but don’t worry—he’s ready to work off those extra treats and become even more adorable! While Mikey is good on car rides, he does tend to pull a bit on leash (but with a little practice, he’ll be walking like a pro in no time). He knows some basic commands but would benefit from a little more training to refine his skills.Mikey is a happy, fun-loving boy who’s ready to share his joy with a new family. If you’re looking for a dog who’s got lots of love to give, loves the outdoors, and is always up for a good time, Mikey is the one for you.Mikey likes it—so come meet him today and let him show you how much joy he can bring to your life!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. DISCO was saved from a kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on Saturday 3rd August.  We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. Disco is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of January 2024 and at the beginning of August weighed around 35 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. DISCO is a big, goofy, affectionate love bug. He gets on great with other dogs, sharing a communal living area with 9 other dogs and has a great time playing and wrestling and making sure he gets his human cuddles when I am over with them all. He is responsive and will be fun to train as he wants to please. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.  He does need an active family who will ensure he gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that he needs to live a happy fulfilling life. DISCO has a reduced adoption fee of $250 in hopes to find his forever home and family. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application.
