Story
Robin is 8 years old (birthday 10/15/15) and is a sweet and slightly anxious pup. She loves to cuddle and would snuggle with you for as long as you let her. She is so gentle with our kids and all of our nieces and nephews, giving unlimited kisses. I had cancer about five years ago and since have less energy for myself and Robin and we know that she deserves more interaction and activity which I no longer have the energy for. We moved a couple of years ago and no longer have a fenced in backyard for her to run in which we really want for her again. She does not do well off leash unless fenced in. We hope to find someone to give her a great rest of her life.

Story
Hey my name is Micky! I am a good dog looking for an owner willing to offer proper training, socialization, and exercise. I am a quick learner, and with the help of some yummy treats, I will make you proud with my excellent manners. I do have A LOT of energy and may be a bit too much for some families! However, a lot of energy also means a lot of LOVE! With time, training, and patience- you can help me be the best dog I can be! Micky has heartworm which means that this dog has parasitic worms in the right ventricle of the heart and nearby blood vessels. Heartworm is transmitted from one dog to another by mosquitoes and can be easily prevented using monthly heartworm preventative, but once the disease is contracted the treatment process can be quite intensive. ***NAME will need to remain sedentary with minimal activity during the treatment process to ensure a healthy recovery. There is additional information on heartworm disease and treatment available at our Adoption Desk.

Story
This is a courtesy post for HSHV. This is a great dog for the right person! Hi, everyone, my name is Clover. I tend to become overwhelmed easily, and the shelter environment is, well, rather overwhelming. So I'm looking to be rescued ASAP by a patient and understanding human; someone who's prepared (with a pocketful of snacks, ideally) to help me keep my cool when I'm venturing outside my comfort zone. I'm a fun-loving dog who loves to play chase, so a home with cats wouldn't be a good fit for my exuberant personality. If you've got the skills to read both my subtle and not so subtle body language, I'd love for you to be my guiding light. Being a 1-year-old German shepherd, it goes without saying that I have an overabundance of energy as well as a brilliant mind. If you're a human with an active lifestyle, I want in on it. I'm talking hikes, fetch, puzzles. I'd even be open to some agility training once I get to know you a little better. Please teach me to channel my energy away from fear and towards fun! Since I'm a sensitive girl, I'd do best in a single family home without dogs and adults only. Remember, adoption is not just about finding a pet; it's about changing a life. Are you craving a new chapter? Me too! Take a chance on this pup, and you'll be rewarded with a transformation beyond your wildest dreams.

Story
Harbor is a beautiful, sweet pup, 15 months old, Purebred with AKC paperwork. She needs a home where there is room for her and also a pet parent who has experience with Shepherds and training them. She was adopted as a young pup to someone who should not have had a dog. He lived in an apartment and had no dog experience. He went to training but thought the training was for the dog and not for him. Experienced pet owners of well behaved pets knows it's the pet parent that gets trained but not the dog they train by the trainer. Haikou is a smart dog, we are needing a non smoking home with room to move in the yard and a pet parent who has the time for a dog. She's a beautiful dog only about 45 pounds right now. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. &#226&#128&#139Stellaris who we call Stella is an approximately 1-year old German shepherd lab mix. She loves people and kids. She is a master at tug of war! She loves to play ball and any toy that squeaks. She knows her basic commands such as sit, stay and down (to lay down). She is very energetic and loves to run. Stella sits and takes treats very gently. She does pretty well on a leash. Stella would do best in a home with a fenced in yard or a family that goes on lots of adventures so she can burn some energy. She plays rough so I would recommend her being properly introduced to larger dogs. No small dogs please. Stella also loves to chase cats and chickens, so a home without those would be best. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. November 4, 2024, 7:53 am
