Story
Hola, Me llamo Francisco!I am an extremely handsome Shepherd/Husky mix boy (possibly mixed with Akita) and I am about 5 years of age. I am a good-sized boy weighing in at just over 70 pounds. However, I`m all done growing, so now I`ll just need exercise. I love to play fetch, I discovered, and I love my tasty treats. When I came to the shelter, I had been running for quite some time. Tired and scared. I was very nervous when I first got here but after a few days of the wonderful people here working with me and showing me that I could trust them, I have come out of my shell so much. I love to get pets and scratches, you will just need to go slow with me and help me understand you mean me no harm.I will need to go to a home with older teens (above the age of 14) and to adopters that are VERY familiar with my breed mixes. It is imperative I receive the nourishment, exercise and mental stimulation I require. I LOVE to play with other dogs, but, unfortunately, cats are not a good idea. If you have cats, you should definitely check out some of my other friends at the shelter that may be more cat-friendly.Join us for the Bissell Empty the Shelters Event October 1-15! Adoption hours are M-F 10-4.View all of my adoptable friends at https://www.macombgov.org/departments/animal-control/adoptionsMy adoption fee is $150.

Story
Everyone, meet Noel.Noel is a gorgeous 7 yr old German Shepherd and is the sweetest love bug in the world.Noel is a professional at playing fetch and even comes and drops the ball at your feet when she is ready for you to throw it again. Heads up, Noel has super-strong teeth and can destroy a flimsy ball, so heavy duty tennis balls or Chuck-It balls are a good idea.Noel does play well with both boy and girl dogs, however she does NOT like when dogs get in her face right away and she will bark and tell them to stay away. However, if you have a lower energy dog that needs a friend, Noel might be your girl. Noel will not be able to go to a home with any cats, so if you have feline friends at home, you will need to check out our other adoptable dogs instead.Noel must go to a home with experience and knowledge of the breed and must go to a home with a fenced in yard and a family dedicated to making sure she gets plenty of exercise.Come meet Noel today and make her a part of your loving home!Join us for the Bissell Empty the Shelters Event October 1-15! Story
Bandit was born 8/16/24. He is current with all his deworming and shots. He has two issues that are minor but need to be disclosed. The first issue he has a small hernia that will need to be repaired by the vet. My vet quoted me 99.00 and recommended that I wait until 6 months. The second issue is one of his testicles has not descended. This may or may not drop. If it doesn’t drop this will require a simple surgery that my vet quoted at 95.00. Again the vet recommended we wait 6 months. This would be a good time to neuter bandit And take care of both surgeries at the same time.

Story
Meet Roadrunner! This charming two-year-old mixed breed boy is eager to please and ready to love YOU! He's 56-pounds of super snuggly goodness that will bring years of happy memories to one lucky family! Right off the bat, you can't help but appreciate how gentle and tolerant this handsome boy is. Not only is gorgeous, he's highly trainable, already knowing sit and taking his treats very gently. We have no doubt he is capable of learning so much more. We can't think of a better way to spend our time than hanging with this fella! Roadrunner loves to alternate spending his time exploring the yard and wiggling his butt for all to see! He never misses an opportunity to lean in for some cuddles and has the most endearing way about him. He enjoys cruising the fence, running with his fellow GLDR pups and we think he'd make an excellent pal for another fun-loving dog. A yard for him to enjoy is a requirement in his new home. Keeping him exercised and engaged will be so much fun! Some of our fabulous volunteers whisked Roadrunner off on a whirlwind adventure, and boy, did he have a blast! At first, he was a little iffy about hopping in and out of the car, but he quickly got the hang of it! Once he settled in, he was a model pup! He strutted along the leash like a pro, though he did get a bit excited on the trails, pulling just a bit- can you blame him? A day out of the kennel is exciting for everyone! He was a curious little explorer, eyeing passersby with a mix of intrigue and caution. He had a splashing good time playing in the water and even got spoiled with a pup cup that came with a scrumptious dog cookie-yum! And here's the cherry on top: this clever pooch already knows how to sit! What a tail-wagging day for everyone involved! Don't miss out on those adorably captured moments! Based on our evaluation, we feel Roadrunner would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages five and up. He may have the ability to live with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think Roadrunner is the guy you've been searching for, visit greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your app for this lovable boy!
