Story
Riley loves car rides and going for walks. She is 1 1/2 year old. She loves attention and is great with people. She does have a little bit of hyper at first but then calms down. She loves her toys and treats. If u want her cage it’s 50 dollars. I just want a good home for her. Riley knows some demands like sit, lay down, walk , be gentle and shake with both hands. She’s great with kids and other dogs. She is fully potty trained and will sleep with u if u let her. She will bark if she hears something. I’m only finding her a new home because me and my husband works to much and I feel bad for her because she needs more attention than I can give.

Story
Hello! I rescued Mai Tai 2 years ago. She is approx 3 yrs old. She is very smart and knows basic commands and some bonus tricks. She is crate trained, knows how to place in her bed and heel on command. Def needs help on her recall as she loves to chase critters and wants to say hi to other dogs so needs to be on a leash at this point. She is super playful, but also very sweet, funny and affectionate. My job role has changed in the last year so I’ve been traveling almost weekly and work long hours. I also need to be in AZ for extended amounts of time now to help my elderly father. I really just don’t have the time she deserves and having to board her all the time is just unfair. Would really love to see her go to a home with a yard to run around in and maybe another dog to play with. Not recommending cats as she chases them.

Story
MEET OAKLEY! Oakley is a handsome 1-year-old, 65 lb German Shepherd with a heart as big as his paws. This smart and loyal boy was surrendered when his family realized that apartment life isn’t the best match for his breed’s active and energetic nature. At first, Oakley can be a little shy, but he quickly warms up and eagerly interacts with people he trusts. He absolutely loves spending time outdoors — he enjoys going for walks though he’s still working on his leash manners and learning to not pull out of excitement. One of his favorite things is having the freedom to run and play in a secure yard, where he can stretch his legs and enjoy some extra fun. Oakley is still building confidence around other dogs; initially, he is a bit nervous (not aggressive) but is making great progress with his social skills. This smart boy has experience living with an eight-year-old child but would thrive best in a quiet and structured home that understands his calmer nature. He hasn’t met any cats yet, so a cat-free home is preferred. Oakley is well-trained and already knows basic commands like “sit” and “give paw.” Although he doesn't like to share his food, he responds well to corrections. Motivated by treats and praise, Oakley bonds quickly with his people and shows excellent house manners. He’s a calm, not overly vocal companion who will thrive in a home with experienced owners who understand the German Shepherd breed. If you’re ready to welcome a loving, intelligent, and devoted friend into your life, Oakley can’t wait to meet you! We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. Story
Max was rescued at 1-1/2 (now 7years old). His owners were elderly and lived in a motor home. They could no longer take care of him. He was adopted by my daughter and 12 year old grandson. They also have a shiatsu and a Lhasa apso mix. Max fit right into the family. My daughter lost her home and she and her now 19-year-old son moved in with me (her mother). This was a temporary solution. The three dogs were included in this move. My daughter now has new housing which allows only 2 dogs and no large dogs. My grandson has moved in with friends and cannot bring Max. I promised to keep him until we found a good home for him. Max is a good dog and responds to some directions. He appears to be a very smart dog and is friendly once he becomes comfortable with strangers. This usually takes 10 minutes if you don't expect too much of him. He has never bitten any one while in our care. He is very protective and lets people know it with a growl. He needs someone who is active.

Story
Princess is an approximately 3 year old spayed female shepherd mix that desperately needs a home. Her owner was unable to continue to feed her, and a neighbor stepped up to help care for Princess but they are not able to care for her long-term. Princess is good with other dogs, and after having multiple litters of puppies before getting spayed, she is very maternal. She is friendly with strangers but will let you know when they come into the yard! Princess appears to be house-trained and is non-destructive when she comes inside the house at night to sleep. Once she knows where “home” is, she is not one to wander and sticks close to where her people are. Princess is fully vaccinated but is unfortunately heartworm positive.
