Story
Hi there, I’m Scout! I’m a year old 45 lb German Shepherd and Cattle Dog mix, and I’m looking for a patient and loving family. I am blind in my left eye, but that doesn't slow me down much! I’m a playful pup who loves to explore. I’m also pretty smart. My foster mom even taught me some agility tricks! But I do have a bit of a mouthy side, especially when I get excited. My foster mom has been using a clicker when I get too mouthy and it’s really helping me focus better when I hear the noise. I'd love a home with someone who has experience with peppy dogs like me and is willing to work with me on my manners. I’m happiest in a calm and quiet home that is all adults or possibly older teenagers. A fenced yard would be great too, so I can run and play safely. I do like the company of other dogs. I’d prefer a doggie friend that doesn’t jump in my face. It’s hard to see who’s coming on my blind side. If you have another dog, let’s meet up and see how we do together. I'm a big fan of food and treats! A slow feeder helps to keep me from inhaling my meals. I also love toys, especially the kind that keep my mind busy and give me a tasty reward. I really enjoy playing fetch! I love belly rubs, balls, and soft toys, and I’m always up for a good cuddle. If you’re looking for a fun, spunky, and handsome young man like myself, come check me out. I might just be the perfect dog for you! If you are interested in Scout and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Pogo is simply stunning! He is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs 60 pounds. Here are a few nice facts about him: Very affectionate Loves to give kisses Can't get close enough to you Outgoing Attentive to you Big musher Craving a leader to rely on In step with his handler Eager to please Seems to have a very loyal personality Is a little hand shy Adopter needs to be leadership capable to allow Pogo to thrive Best in active home Needs basic obedience refresher, especially jumping up for attention Loose and open approach with other dogs, but seems more interested in people Needs a home where any children are at least 8 years old If you are interested in Pogo and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch.
