Story
Lola is a beautiful 3-year-old German Shepherd weighing approximately 60 lbs. She came to us as a stray and was later owner-surrendered when her family could no longer care for her. Now, Lola is ready for a fresh start with a home that understands and appreciates the incredible qualities of this intelligent, working breed. What We’ve Learned About Lola:Knows several commands including sit, down, paw (both), speak, and spinAppears to be fully housetrainedWalks nicely on a leashSmart, eager, and enjoys engaging with her peopleLola is still learning how to interact appropriately with other dogs. She can be a bit rude at times—jumping, being mouthy, and occasionally vocal—which are not uncommon traits in shepherds. Because of this, Lola would benefit from continued training to help her develop better canine manners.Ideal Home:An adopter with German Shepherd or working-breed experienceSomeone who can devote time, structure, training, and energy to an active dogChildren in the home should be 10 years or older (due to her size) and must meet her prior to adoptionA cat-free home is preferred; however, with slow and proper introductions, coexistence with a confident feline may be possibleLola is a loyal, intelligent dog who will thrive with the right guidance and commitment. If you’re looking for a devoted companion and have the experience to help her be her best self, Lola may be the perfect match for you.If you are interested in adopting Lola or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, they are open M-F from 10am-4pm.Adoption fee: $200

Story
Meet Radar — yes, like the ears.Radar is a 1-year-old female German Shepherd/Husky mix with stunning black and tan markings and the kind of ginormous ears that make you wonder if she’s picking up satellite signals. (She absolutely heard you open a snack.)She’s a playful, curious, and energetic girl who loves other dogs and would thrive with a canine buddy to wrestle and zoom with. Radar already knows “sit” and is learning “shake”—she’s smart and eager, and with continued training she’s going to be an absolute superstar.Because Radar is still young and full of beans, she’s best suited for a home with a fenced yard where she can run, explore, and investigate the world with those legendary ears. We recommend older kids who can keep up with her energy and enthusiasm. She’s playful and sweet, but no cats, please—her curiosity is a little too intense for feline friends.Radar is the perfect mix of fun, brains, and goofiness. With some structure, training, and love, she’ll grow into an incredible companion. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you laughing, moving, and never missing a sound, Radar is ready to tune into your heart! If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $100.

Story
Dorothy is a sweet loving little dog. She loves every person she meets, young, old, male or female, they are all friends. She is also great with all the dogs she meets. Dorothy will give a small growl if another dog is pushing her too far, but as long as the humans step in and make the other dog give her a break she will settle and not take it any farther. She is a lover, not a fighter. Dorothy would love a home with a doggie friend as well as a family that enjoys cuddling with her. Story
Hi, I’m Amelia — checking in from Oregon!  I’m a 7-month-old spayed female Shepinois and I’m officially on the hunt for my forever home. Could it be you?  I can be a little shy when meeting new people at first, but don’t worry — I warm up quickly once I know you’re kind. I’m still learning how the world works and do best with slow, thoughtful introductions to new things. Once I feel safe, my true personality shines through… and spoiler alert: I’m a total love bug.   A Few Things to Know About Me:  Crate trained (I know what “bed” means!) Potty trained — pretty impressive, right? Medium-to-high drive and eager to learn Excellent off switch — couch snuggles are my specialty I love having a furry sibling to play with. One of my favorite games is stealing balls and running away with them — it’s all in good fun!  I’d be happiest in a home that can give me both the physical and mental stimulation I need, and then curl up with me afterward for some quality snuggle time. Car rides are still a little scary for me, but I’m gaining confidence every day and I know I’ll get the hang of them soon. I haven’t met cats or small children yet, so I’m not sure how I feel about them — slow introductions would be best there, too. I think I sound pretty fantastic… don’t you?  If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, cuddly girl to grow with, learn with, and love forever — I might just be your perfect match.  Will you be my forever home?  All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and 6 month subscription.  If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic.  *********************************************************************** We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location.
