Story
Meet Crescent! This one-year-old lab/shepherd mix is the definition of dapper dude! Confident and handsome, Crescent is the king of class! From the moment you meet him, Crescent doesn't disappoint. Tolerant and talented, he has so many impressive qualities. He's one smart pup who has already picked up "sit" and "down" and is no doubt capable of so much more! He loves his tough toys and is always up to play. He balances his inquisitive side with a tender side as well. He enjoys his time with volunteers and is always willing to share a kiss or two. Crescent will excel with daily exercise and training with him will be a blast! His new family will need to provide him with lots of mental stimulation and enrichment to keep him happily engaged. He will also need a yard to enjoy as well. We can't forget to share just how awesome he was for his photo shoot! Just look at those poses! He's got it and he knows it! He's good on a leash and even did well in the bath! Based on our evaluation, we feel Crescent will do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages five and up. He may have the potential to live with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. Welcoming Crescent into your family will be one of the best decisions you'll make! Head to greatlakesdogrescue.com and submit your application for our charismatic Crescent!

Story
Hi there, I’m Scout! I’m a year old 45 lb German Shepherd and Cattle Dog mix, and I’m looking for a patient and loving family. I am blind in my left eye, but that doesn't slow me down much! I’m a playful pup who loves to explore. I’m also pretty smart. My foster mom even taught me some agility tricks! But I do have a bit of a mouthy side, especially when I get excited. My foster mom has been using a clicker when I get too mouthy and it’s really helping me focus better when I hear the noise. I'd love a home with someone who has experience with peppy dogs like me and is willing to work with me on my manners. I’m happiest in a calm and quiet home that is all adults or possibly older teenagers. A fenced yard would be great too, so I can run and play safely. I do like the company of other dogs. I’d prefer a doggie friend that doesn’t jump in my face. It’s hard to see who’s coming on my blind side. If you have another dog, let’s meet up and see how we do together. I'm a big fan of food and treats! A slow feeder helps to keep me from inhaling my meals. I also love toys, especially the kind that keep my mind busy and give me a tasty reward. I really enjoy playing fetch! I love belly rubs, balls, and soft toys, and I’m always up for a good cuddle. If you’re looking for a fun, spunky, and handsome young man like myself, come check me out. I might just be the perfect dog for you! If you are interested in Scout and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
This 2 year old brother (Max) and sister (Stella with one blue eye and one brown eye!) German Shepherd/Husky mix lost their 51-year old owner suddenly; he died. Now they are in the yard, being cared for daily by their owner's elderly Aunt who cannot keep them. They must be adopted as a pair as they are closely bonded. They are used to enjoying the Dog Park and riding in the car. They are used to spending time outside in a fenced in yard and in the house when their owner is home. They are very loving, housebroken and balanced temperament. They make excellent watch dogs and companion buddies.
