Story
Do you have an “empty nest”? Are you looking for some handsome boy companionship? Great news, your search is over! In addition to my very dapper good-boy looks, I am also an avid ball player and dignified goofball. You may be thinking how in the world I can posses such conflicting personality traits...well I am definitely very regal in my looks and initial demeanor...but once I let my hair down (the shed is real, am I right?) and create a bond with my person, I reveal my more quirky attributes! I love being outdoors; you could even say that I am easily amused. Whether it be playing fetch to my heart's desire or going for a long trail walk (I would probably make a pretty good jogging buddy too). If you have a boat with an empty seat, count me in because I LOVE to swim! Being a German Shepherd, I am one of the 'brighter crayons in the box'. In my free time I like to work with the staff and volunteers to brush up on my basic command skills. They are always telling me what a smart guy I am! Well...I assume that's what they are saying, judging by the treats they give me, I am doing good! Proper introductions to establish a trusting, positive, first impression is a must with me. I am an old fashioned kind of guy. I know I am irresistibly handsome, but I appreciate getting to know each other before getting all touchy-feely. Because of this, I would be happiest in a home without children (or other wondering hands). I do love affection and a good ear rub....but a mutual respect needs to be established first. I also want to be your only side-kick, I am not a social butterfly with other pets, I would much rather hangout with just my person. I have a pretty strong prey drive to keep the stray cat and pesky squirrels out of our yard too....A job I take very seriously. If you are in the market for a dashing side-kick to rid the yard of vermin, submit your adoption application at the website below to see if we are a match! They call me Snickers because I am a snack. Bonus: I am health and diet friendly! I might not taste like the candy (it is not advised to test that), but I am as good as one! I will even keep you into fitness going for walks; a pleasure you don’t have to feel guilty about! Not only am I friendly on your physique, I am friendly in general. A real people dog that is happy to say hello to everyone around! All my friends at MAS say I’m a real down to earth pooch (they’re so sweet…like candy). It’s been a treat hanging out and making friends with everyone here, but I am ready for my forever home life. I don't care much for furry friend companionship though. I would be much happier as your one and only fur baby. All you have to do now is submit your adoption application at the website below to get the ball rolling and come meet me. Remember, Snickers satisfies! DOB: 11/8/2017 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Story
I am a huntress with a master's degree in squeaky toy thrills! A fair warning to the squirrels, stray cats, bunnies, and other live action squeaky toys that dare to think they stand a chance at escaping my game! It is important to me that a respectable bond is built between us. I know I am out-of-this-world beautiful but I prefer to be admired from a distance...at first. I am unapologetically selective about my entourage, but once you're in my loop of trust, say goodbye to your personal space and hello to my daybue of affection! Unwinding from a day of fun with some snuggles and tummy tickles is my idea of ultimate bliss! I would be best suited as the only pet in our life together, as sharing attention...or toys...or food...isn't really my strong suit. Moreover, someone experienced in canine lingo will be best equipped to understand my quirks. While its true that I am a little hard headed, my curious nature and intellect is the perfect blend of charm...occasionally too much for my own good. I enjoy problem solving to get my way, and to keep you on your toes! Having a larger than average brain does come with some risk of mischief if I'm left to find my own objective. If you're looking for a loyal car ride companion, or a reason to place an Amazon order for new puzzle games, submit a MAS adoption application for yours truly! Story
I am beauty and brains in one perfect package - and I’m on the lookout for a home where I can truly thrive! I’m an energetic, intelligent dog with a playful spirit and a heart full of sweetness....with an added bonus for your entertainment: I’ve perfected the all-too-cute head tilt, complete with my adorably quirky ears! Even though I’ve had my share of challenges (I was hit by a car and required surgical pins in both of my back legs), these experiences have only strengthened my resilience and desire for a stable and loving family. I am both house trained and crate trained, making me well-prepared to integrate into your home. I excel with a consistent routine, including scenic outdoor excursions, training, and plenty of playtime! I’ve really shown off my intelligence in leash and manners training, and I’m especially alert and responsive when there are snacks involved. While I have lived with other dogs and older children before, I’m quite dominant with other dogs and a bit too boisterous for small children. However, teenage kids are the perfect fetch partners for me! I may be a bit apprehensive at first, but I am a loyal companion who will reward your patience with genuine affection. If you’re seeking a dynamic, engaging, and sweet partner to share your life with, submit an adoption application at the MAS website below! Story
Meet Mariah! Mariah came to us as a stray and sadly was never claimed and she is now searching for a new forever home! Mariah is a German Shepherd that is around 1 year old and weighs about 45 pounds. Mariah has lots of energy and love to give but does still need some training. Mariah is mostly housebroken as long as she on a good routine and schedule. Mariah will need a home without children. Mariah doesn’t seem to mind the cats and is good with the other dogs. We do require a dog intro with any future k-9 siblings to make sure everyone gets along. Mariah is up to date on her vaccinations, dewormed, flea treated, heartworm tested negative, microchipped & spayed! If you are interested in making Mariah a part of your family please contact the shelter directly at 989-831-7302! *All adoptions are done by appointment only*

Story
Bear's brother has become insanely jealous/possessive (litter-mate syndrome?), so I'm seeking to re-home Bear, who is actually fairly mellow. He is, however, a large and strong dog. Bear was born December 16th in a litter of six or seven to a golden retriever mother; father was a German shepherd on a farm next door. He would definitely need room to run around in, as these guys have had a relatively large yard to romp and play. Bear's a good, solid sort of dog.
