Story
Tatum is a gorgeous, shy German Shepherd Dog who had a rough start to life. Tatum is hoping to find an adoptive home who has experience with dogs, and understands their body language. He is wonderfully sweet and curious once he makes friends with new people. Tatum has a great nose and loves long, sniffy walks, and exploring. Tatum is affectionate and happy with people he trusts, and walks fairly well on a leash. He will bark at new people who move quickly towards him, and likes to make friends by just hanging out and going for walks without being the center of attention. Tatum is very gently curious about other dogs, and may be able to live with another dog who can approach him calmly. At this time he is looking for an adult home, and may take a few meets before he is ready to go home with an adopter. This great boy will make a wonderful friend for an adopter who is willing to go slow, and build his confidence. If you are are interested in meeting Tatum, please head to our website at worcesterarl.org and fill out the Dog Adoption Inquiry to request a meet with Tatum. All adoptions are by appointment, thank you!

Story
Sammy is super sweet! This boy enjoys long quiet walks, and has grown to adore the staff who cares for him. When meeting new people you will definitely see Sammy`s shy side. Sammy is a gentle pup who doesn`t like to be rushed into making friends. He prefers to take his time and let you show him that you can be patient with him. Sammy make take more than one visit at the shelter to get comfortable with new folks, but once he does, you will have yourself a best friend. Due to Sammy`s shyness, we will be looking for a home without children, and a home without lots of people in and out. Sammy may enjoy living with other dogs, but they would have to meet first. If you are viewing this dog’s profile on Adopt-a-Pet and are interested in adopting, please head to our official website at www.worcesterarl.org to fill out a Dog Adoption Inquiry Form, which will be located under the dog’s profile. That is the first step! All adoptions are by appointment, thank you!

Story
I brought Stella in as a stray dog living in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA in November 2022. At the time, the vet determined she was ~1 year old, and so she is now about 3 years old. I initially only planned to foster her briefly, but she ended up being such a great companion to me and my other dog that she has stayed with us for nearly two years. She is very loyal and affectionate and thrived at our home in central Massachusetts where we had several acres of land for her to explore. However, I relocated to a busy location in Providence ~6 months ago and Stella is struggling to adapt to the city, especially in our new apartment that does not have a yard. She plays well with other dogs off-leash (at dog parks, boarding, etc.), but on a leash she is often reactive to dogs, other people, and wildlife. An ideal home would have a generously sized yard so that Stella can remain active. She is extremely warm and loving and I hope to find her a home with the space she needs to be comfortable.

Story
Meet Roxie, a stunning and intelligent lady in search of a dedicated Adult Only home with no other animals. Previously adopted as a puppy, she hasn`t received the proper socialization, which contributes to her reactivity towards new people and animals. Roxie thrives with experienced handlers who can ensure her safety and comfort during the adjustment period, requiring multiple meet and greets to build trust. Once she feels secure, her playful and fun-loving nature shines through, offering joy to those who earn her affection. Roxie enjoys hikes, car rides, and brain-teasing puzzles, and she will need ongoing muzzle training for vet visits and outings to ensure her comfort and safety. With love and patience, Roxie is ready to become a cherished member of a supportive home.

Story
Hello! Are you looking for a furry friend full of energy and love? Meet our adorable pup! If you`re in search of a lively companion who adores playtime and craves attention from their humans, then look no further - we might just be the perfect match! I`m a bundle of joy who thrives on interaction and fun activities. While I`m a loving soul, it`s important to note that I do require a home with kids aged 10 and above. In the past, I`ve shared my space with both dogs and cats, although it`s been a little while, so the folks at the shelter will help determine if it`s the right fit this time around. Here are some things that have happened while my stay here; I`m the type that need a lot of stimulation mentally and physically if I don`t get it, I go stir crazy there have been times where a would guard my toys and times when I have swallowed things whole and needed surgery. as of the past few weeks I have gotten better, I have not shown any resource guarding and I have been better with not swallowing things whole with my friends monitoring me as we play outside but I`m not allowing squeaky toys in my kennel with me. My new family will still need to monitor me, and not let me have the run of the house too soon and crate training will be the best for my safety. If you have other questions feel free to give the shelter a call.

Story
Hello, wonderful people name is Scarlett, and I`m here to share my dreams of finding a forever home where I can truly thrive. I dream of wide-open spaces where I can stretch my legs and let my energy run wild. Whether it`s exploring new trails, playing fetch in the yard, or just soaking up the sunshine, I`m always ready for a new adventure. Now, here`s the thing - I really really don`t like other dogs (and have a high prey drive when it comes to small animals) so I must be the only pet in the home. Due to an accident where other dogs attacked me I am very offensive to pretect myself. Luckily, my hoomans have trained me to wear a basket muzzle so I can still go places so everyone, including myself, can be safe. Plus, with positive reinforcement, I don`t mind it at all. You should know I enjoy all humans and I thrive on undivided attention, shoulder scritches, & love, and I just know I`ll shine brightest when I`m the center of your world. Oh, and one more thing - I require a fenced-in yard. It`s essential for me to have a safe and secure space where I can run and play to my heart`s content. My hoomans say no exception on this they want to make sure I am as safe as possible. So, if you`re ready to open your heart and home to a brave, sweet, and fiercely loyal companion like me, then look no further! Let`s embark on this journey together and create a bond that`s truly unbreakable. Reach out to the shelter, and let`s make my dreams of a forever home a reality.

Meet Mikey! Mikey is about 2 years old, 73 lbs, and he may have some German Shepherd in his mix! He has been treated for Heartworm disease and is now ready for adoption. No apartments, please! His foster says, `Mikey would love a semi active family that likes to go for walks and then cuddle up on the couch for a good nap. He loves to be brushed and petted.
