Story
Trudy is an adorable GSD mix breed pup. She has the softest most beautiful coat. About 8-9 months old, 33 pounds. She was a stray all alone at the shelter in the spring when a wonderful foster home saved her from the euthanasia line. She waited patiently for a rescue to tag her and we just couldn't resist when we saw her. She loves other dogs, plays so well with her blind, deaf senior foster sister and gets very happy and wiggles like crazy when she sees kids. Trudy is getting better every day with her puppy manners. Does require a confident, active owner to continue to support her in her journey to being the best girl. She is being fostered locally. If you would like to be considered to adopt TRUDY go to our website and fill out an application. www.sunnypawsrescue.org. Lucy is a 6 yo gorgeous GSD. She is under vet care for an eye issue and has been given drops hoping to preserve her sight. Likely to be on these for life and the rescue is committed to covering the cost of these drops. She is doing so well with foster resident dogs. Very sweet. Little shy at first. Starting to warm up to the foster. But her manners are wonderful with no jumping or barking. She just loves attention. Coming to Massachusetts in December. Thank you for choosing rescue. Story
Meet Junior- a sweet, playful, and funny shepherd mix who has the most beautiful brownish-red coat and a happy clownish behavior.Junior’s owner past away unexpectedly and he needed to be rehomed quickly. This boy loves having human attention; will follow you everywhere. He enjoys giving and receiving kisses andlikes to nibble on your hands and feet. However, foster mom is working on him being a bit gentler with it.Junior absolutely loves to play with other dogs. His play style is both gentle and rough. When he plays with dogs he plays according to the vibe of the other dog. He can lay down and play gentle, or he can run around and tackle. He can be a couch potato too!!He is good with children and rides well in the car.He is learning basic commands and will sit automatically when he gets a treat, taking it so gently. Since he was without food for some time after his owners passing, he gets so excited and dances all around when the food bowl comes out. and then runs into his kennel when its time to eat. He does not have any food aggression towards humans or animals. However, he does try to push the other dogs away from their bowls when he is finished, so best to keep him separated until everyone is done.  Junior sleeps very well at night. He lays on his bed and doesn't want to start his day too early. He has not chewed anything in the house. He is housetrained and can be trusted in the house not to chew anything that he should not.Leash training is in process. He is still very skittish with loud noises and fast unexpected movements. New people coming in the house initially scare him, but he has made big improvements in the weeks he has been at his foster home.If you're searching for a handsome, happy, affectionate, and well-behaved companion, Junior might just be the perfect match for you.Name: JuniorBreed: German Shepherd Dog/CrossbreedSex: MaleAge: 2 years  (estimated)Weight: 53.0Spayed/Neutered: NoVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive on recent testing. Story
Meet Natasha! This 2-year-old, 50-pound sweetheart is as friendly as they come. She’s submissive and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She is also CAT-FRIENDLY. Natasha’s foster mom shares that she is excellent in a crate, where she loves snuggling up with her bed and blanket. She hasn’t shown any destructive tendencies, sticking to her chew toys like a pro. Potty training? She’s got it down—no accidents in the house or her crate! That said, like any dog adjusting to a new home, she may need a little patience and guidance as she settles into her new routine.  Natasha is still learning to feel comfortable on a leash. While she initially nibbled at the leash and was unsure, she’s made great progress and is much more tolerant of being leashed now. She’ll benefit from continued training and encouragement to build her confidence during walks. The good news is that she’s easy to redirect and handle when needed. Indoors, Natasha is the ultimate couch potato. She’s a gentle, docile girl who adores lounging around and soaking up affection. Pet her once, and she’ll happily nudge you for more love, even doing an adorable full-body wiggle in appreciation. If you’re looking for a sweet, low-key companion who thrives on love and snuggles, Natasha might just be your perfect match. Apply today to bring this “big baby” home! We’re looking for a foster-to-adopt home for Natasha, where she can settle in with the intent of being adopted. This would allow her to leave Texas as soon as possible and begin her transition into a loving forever home. If you’re interested in fostering Natasha with the goal of making her a permanent part of your family, please apply today! Natasha is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed. (puppies under the age of 6 months may not be sterilized prior to adoption, if this is the case your adoption coordinator will discuss the process with you). To adopt or learn more about: you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, visit our website: WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM ** PLEASE READ: If a dog/puppy is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. In some cases this dog may be pending an adoption already, and their profile has not been updated yet. Please note, SPR does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated otherwise. All breeds listed are educated best estimates by transferring shelter staff, our volunteers or our vets. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort. If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation. To learn more about our rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of FAQ’s on our website at WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM **The FIRST step in adopting an animal from our rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.
