Story
My husband and I adopted linor, a ~7 week old German / chow chow/pitt/cattle dog 5 years ago. What we were told is that she and her sister were found on side of road. From puppyhood, Elinor has been very anxious. She has had multiple rounds of training & is e collar trained. She is afraid of new people and reactive to dogs. She gets nervous if it’s cold outside and will refuse to go out. She gets shaking panic attacks over very small things. She spends a lot of time hiding in closets. She is a sweetheart with all people she knows. She nipped someone when she was a puppy, has not bitten since. However, we know how to manager her and she gets no opportunities to bite. She doesn’t meet strangers or new dogs without muzzle. Once she gets used to a person we take muzzle off. We’ve learned a lot about how to care for her and she has a loving home that is safe for her and for us/our guests. She is becoming harder however for us to care for well with two kids. We love her.

Story
Affectionate and playful with my family and always up for a new adventure or challenge, I’ll bring lots of energy and joy to my new home. I was adopted in April 2022, when I was 5 months old, as a little brother for my mom’s first pup, but she’s found the demands of raising 2 young working/sporting males in the city to be more than she can manage given all her other commitments. I’m house trained, leash trained (tho I get excited when I see a rabbit or squirrel), neutered, fully vaxed, and I travel well in the car. I’ve got great recall, respond to all the basic commands, learn quickly, luv 2 please. Seeking an active, dog-savvy family who love shepherds and are mostly home/available to walk/hike, cuddle, play. Big enclosed yard and other dog/s bonus.

Story
Meet Happy, a charming and unique dog with a personality to match his one-of-a-kind looks! This friendly guy is great at making human friends and has a history of being snuggly and social with his previous family. Happy is full of energy and is looking for a family that can keep him mentally and physically active. He thrives when positive training methods are used to bring out his best qualities. Although Happy has a good history of making dog friends, he’s still learning the best way to introduce himself to others, so he will need a bit of guidance in that area. With patience and support, he’ll surely improve his greetings.Happy would likely do best in a quiet neighborhood where he can relax and focus on himself, while still having the chance for plenty of fun and adventures with his forever family. Could you be the one to give this wonderful boy the love and care he deserves? If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog that’s a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they’re interested in - and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Story
Meet Ozzy, the lovable 3-year-old pup who`s ready to cast a spell on your heart! With his big, soulful eyes and boundless energy, this sweet and affectionate dog is looking for a forever home where he can be your loyal companion. In true typical shepherd fashion, Ozzy likes to make sure he`s heard. Though he can be a bit anxious when first transitioning to a new home, just like Elphaba finding her place in the world, once he settles in, Ozzy will be your most devoted friend. If you`re looking for a dog who`ll be both mischievous and loving, Ozzy`s ready to be your `Good News` in this magical journey of companionship. Ozzy may enjoy having a dog friend to hangout with, but would prefer an adult only household. If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. Adoption Profile: Wonhtsai•Name: Wonhtsai•Age: 4 years old•Breed: Husky/Shepherd mix•Sex: FemaleAbout Wonhtsai:Wonhtsai is an energetic and playful dog who loves meeting new people and forming bonds with them. As a Husky/Shepherd mix, she has a lot of energy and will need an active home where she can stay busy and engaged with a family who is excited to provide several enriching outlets for her. She’s not shy about expressing herself and has a strong voice that she’ll gladly use when she wants to be heard. Wonhtsai has a limited history, so her new family should be ready to allow her ample time to settle in and learn her personality before they gear up for any adventures. Wonhtsai did experience some separation anxiety in her previous home, so she is looking for a patient fmaily who is home more often than they are not. Wonhtsai says no thanks to living with dogs but may be able to live with a dog-savvy cat or kids.
