Story
Loki is a very energetic, very smart, very attached 1 year old purebred German Shepherd puppy. Unfortunately, Loki doesn't get along with our other dog and it is causing a stressful living environment for both dogs. He would thrive in an only dog household and with someone who is experienced with working breeds. He loves going for walks, playing fetch, and especially loves using his nose to find hidden treats. He did do a 3-week bootcamp so he is fairly good on commands/recall but would benefit from continued training. And even though he is a high energy dog, when it's time to settle down there's nothing better than him resting his head on your arm at peace.

Story
Our heart hurts for this 8 year old big boy. His owner recently died and now he is stuck in boarding. As expected, German Shepherds are fiercely loyal. Apparently, he belonged to an elderly gentleman that passed unexpectedly and with no family members that are available to take him, Jackson is really in limbo. He was used to being an only dog so we are thinking that is an environment that is best suitable for him. Jackson is super smart as well! When he bonds to you, he loves with his whole heart! If you think you have a rescue heart for Jackson, EMAIL STORKWOODS@COMCAST.NET and we will send the application. Jackson is in boarding in Murfreesboro, TN. We do have transport available.

Story
Meet Ozzy, the lovable 3-year-old pup who`s ready to cast a spell on your heart! With his big, soulful eyes and boundless energy, this sweet and affectionate dog is looking for a forever home where he can be your loyal companion. In true typical shepherd fashion, Ozzy likes to make sure he`s heard. Though he can be a bit anxious when first transitioning to a new home, just like Elphaba finding her place in the world, once he settles in, Ozzy will be your most devoted friend. If you`re looking for a dog who`ll be both mischievous and loving, Ozzy`s ready to be your `Good News` in this magical journey of companionship. Ozzy may enjoy having a dog friend to hangout with, but would prefer an adult only household. If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog that’s a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they’re interested in - and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Story
Meet Daphne! - Shepherd Mix - Female - 2 years young - 41lbs - Spayed - Up to date on all vaccinations Daphne was rescued from a high kill shelter where she was next in line to be euthanized. When we saw a picture of how terrified and scared she was we knew we couldn’t let anything bad happen to her again. Daphne is very nervous and scared and we are assuming she was abused in her past as she cowers low when people walk by quick. She is really starting to open up in her foster home and getting more and more comfortable each day. Daphne needs and adopter who will be patient with her and show her that she is worthy of your love. She’s so unsure on who to trust but we can see that she wants to trust so bad. She gets along well with other dogs and sleeps through the night in the crate. Do you have enough love and patience in your heart to give Daphne the best life possible? If so, she’s desperately waiting for you! To apply to adopt this beautiful girl, please fill out an adoption application located on our website. www.aplaceforace.org
