Story
Meet koba! Koba just turned 3 years old (03/21/2023). He is German shepherd, husky, Great Pyrenees, and Rhodesian ridgeback. He is a great doggy and loves to be outside. He is fully trained and knows various commands such as sit, shake, speak, spin, guard, heel, etc. He is an eager to learn breed and is very food motivated, so you could teach him to do anything. He doesn’t get along with cats or other small pets. He is naturally very protective of his family and has never been with anyone but me and my son…we got him when he was 12 weeks. I will be picky where he goes. I want him to go somewhere PERFECT for him and will be charging a fee. He does get along with other BIG dogs as that is what he is used to. He is high energy and loves to go on runs, walks, and road trips. He went with me and my son to various states and did amazing in the car. Please pm if truly interested, again there WILL BE A FEE to ensure you’re a serious, loving, safe, and capable person/ home to take care of him

Story
Meet the Marvelous Miss Maple!Maple is a 6-month-old German Shepherd mix who arrived from Oklahoma with Apple just hours before a deadly cold snap. The shelter they came from is an open facility without full walls, and with the only staff member on leave, conditions were about to become extremely dangerous. These girls were rescued just in time.Maple is a sweet, loving puppy who is friendly with other dogs and enjoys their company. Like many young dogs who’ve spent much of their short lives in shelters, she hasn’t really had the chance to just be a carefree puppy yet. She’s ready to learn what home life is all about — toys, routines, and lots of affection. She’s expected to stay on the smaller side for a shepherd mix and should grow into a nice, manageable medium sized dog. Maple would truly benefit from having an older, confident dog in the home to help show her the ropes and build her skills. Another dog in the home is required for her. She could also be adopted together with Apple if you’re ready for double the fun!Maple is a cute, hopeful little pup ready for her fresh start. Come meet her!

Story
Sonny came to us as a stray, and his journey toward trust is unfolding day by day. He’s slowly warming up to people, showing glimpses of the loyal and loving companion he’s meant to be. Sonny has a big bark and a cautious nature, so we’re taking things slow to help him feel safe and secure.Because of his wariness around new faces, Sonny will likely need multiple meet-and-greets to truly connect with his future humans. We’re not sure yet how he feels about other dogs or cats, so a careful introduction would be necessary. At this time, we recommend that Sonny go to a home with no kids. A fenced yard is required for Sonny, as he’s still learning to feel comfortable around strangers and needs a secure space to decompress and explore. If you are interested in meeting Sonny, please fill out an application for him online. Information may change as we get to know Sonny better.

Story
Meet Rosie!Rosie is a beautiful 5-year-old German Shepherd mix who came to us as a stray. When she first arrived, she was heartbroken and unsure, choosing to curl up quietly in the back of her kennel. But with time, patience, and gentle encouragement, her personality has begun to bloom..Although Rosie is incredibly sweet and she appreciates all the attention she can get, she is still cautious when meeting new people and other animals. She will need a few meets to warm up to new people, but once she is comfortable, she is ready to become someone`s best friend. Given her cautious demeanor with new people, a home without shared walls would be best, as well as a home with older children or a home without kids as it can be quite stressful for her. As with all of our adoptable pets, a meet with all family members, furry and non-furry will be needed to ensure it`s a great match. If you’re looking for a gentle companion with a kind heart and a penchant for snuggles, Rosie may be your perfect match. She’s ready for someone special to show her that the world is safe—and that she deserves all the love it has to offer. Rosie had been adopted and lived in a home for a couple weeks and did just amazing (only returned as owner had to have surgery and could not care for her). She would sit and watch out the windows and NOT bark at anyone going by. She did not have any accidents in the house, walked great on a leash and was always excited to jump up on the couch and relax!! This girl loves a good belly rub.

Story
Alan Lendak will be adopted through our Foster-to-Adopt program until he is neutered by our veterinarian. Participation in this program requires that he be returned to our rescue for the neuter procedure once surgery appointments become available.Because of this requirement, we are currently limiting applicants to those who live within 60 miles of our rescue in De Soto to ensure timely scheduling and coordination. Our veterinary team has been extremely busy completing these procedures, and when surgery appointments open, we often need to act quickly. Coordinating returns from longer distances has proven to be challenging.Alan is loving the outdoor life! He will roam the yard all day long and even try to nap outside (if his brothers would let him). He is active, but also enjoys a good snooze! He can be whiny, so he would do best with a family who is home often or with a fur sibling to keep him busy! He is learning the potty training routine with his foster family very quickly!

Story
Meet Jet, the kind of dog who makes you smile the moment you meet him. There’s just something about his earnest, good-natured demeanor that feels like sunshine in a furry coat.Jet is a Shepherd-mixalicious gentleman with a lovable, slightly comedic streak. If he were human, he’d be the class clown everyone remembers — goofy, charming, always trying to make the room a little brighter. Meeting new people and making friends? Loves it! Scratches on his silly noggin? Of course! Absolutely!Jet was saved from a euthanasia list and given a second chance at the life he always deserved. He’s a smart boy who appreciates the simple joys: making new friends, settling onto a soft blanket, and having a warm place to sleep. As with all of our adoptable pets, a meet in greet with all family members residing in the home is needed to make sure it`s a great fit for everyone. He has recently shown that he is not a big fan of other dogs, so a home where he can be the king of the castle would be best. This handsome sweetheart is ready for his next chapter — and he’s hoping it’s with a family who finds him as delightful as we do. Come meet Jet and prepare to fall in love with the class clown of the adoption center!
