Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. PHOENIX was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. He along with his 7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 Phoenix is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 2 January 2023 and at the time of transport weighed around 42 pounds. Mixed breed dogs in Oman are referred to as Omani Wadi Dogs, with most of them being Saluki mixes. PHOENIX is the youngest of the dogs that came over from OMAN and he has settled in great. He shares a kennel with his Omani friends, Myrtle (who keeps in him in check) and KATIE (who he has a crush on lol). He is very affectionate, gentle, playful, he found the toy basket almost straight away and enjoys getting them all out and playing or chewing on them. He doesn't like sharing all the time and will let the other dog know with a low growl that it is his food or toy, but has never escalated to anything other than appropriate communicating. He gets super excited when I go over to the kennels, he loves having lots of neck and ear scratches, cuddles and kisses. He will need a family that has an active lifestyle and can give him all that he deserves and needs to thrive. He will in return give you all the love he has, so many giggles with his goofy antics and lots of wonderful memories to be made. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue   YouTube channel   and    photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Phoenix is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a reduced adoption fee of $400. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. KAI was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. He along with his7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 KAI is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 30 January 2010 and at the time of transport weighed around 40 pounds. Mixed breed dogs in Oman are referred to as Omani Wadi Dogs, with most of them being Saluki mixes. KAI was one of the favourites of the rescue in Oman, he had been saved and his foot was all mangled and sadly it was deemed it couldn't be fixed and the only option was amputation. He healed and is doing great and having 3 legs doesn't slow him down. He shares a kennel with his Omani friend "Fliss" and they are constantly wrestling and chasing around the kennel run playing - which is beautiful to see them relaxed and having fun after all they have endured. KAI is a very gentle soul who is happy to chill out, but also play and be goofy. He loves having his neck and ears scratched and will make a great snuggle companion, but of course still needs a fair amount of exercise and lots of fun adventures. When Kai was saved his front leg was mangled that the veterinarians were not able to save and so the decision was made to amputate his leg, and as with all amputee's, this doesn't stop him from having fun and living life. He will need joint supplements to help support the extra work and weight his other leg is enduring. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue       YouTube channel       and       photo albums on our Facebook page       to see a LOT of pictures and videos. Story
Luuka is a sweet and energetic 4 year old dog who loves to run, play with frisbees and chase balls. Although we aren’t entirely sure what breed he is, we believe he’s a German Shepherd and Greyhound mix. He is a loyal protector and loves nighttime snuggles. Luuka learns quickly and with some consistency and training could be a wonderful companion. What he needs is someone who is willing to give him plenty of exercise and love. He is not very good with children, but can be great with other dogs if acclimated well enough. We are looking to rehome ASAP due to him now that we have a second baby in the house.

Name: RubyBreed: German Shepherd/American Bulldog Age: Under a year Dogs: YesCats: TBDKids: YesLovely Miss Ruby is in search of her forever home! Ruby is a little under a year old and came in with her brother Duke. The duo are German Shepherd/American Bulldog mixes and Ruby already weighs 70lbs!Ruby is a bit reserved at first, but with some treats and reassurance from her friends at MHS this pretty lady comes out of her shell quickly! Ruby loves affection, loves chasing tennis balls or any squeaker toy, and loves going on runs, she is the perfect running partner! Ruby does great with any command that you give her, is housebroken, and crate trained. Ruby has lived with young children before. Ideally Ruby would love someone that has the time and patience to work with her through some of her shyness, as every new situation can be a bit daunting for her at first, but if she trusts her human you can see Ruby's confidence shine. Ruby would love a fenced in yard where she can spend most of her days running around outside or just basking in the sun. Ruby will be spayed, microchipped, and is UTD on her vaccinations. If you are interested in Ruby, please fill out an application today! https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27

Name: DukeAge: Under a yearBreed: German Shepherd/American Bulldog MixDogs: YesCats:TBDKids: Over 5Say Hello to Duke! This handsome big guy has a lot of love to give! Duke is a little under a year old and is a German Shepherd/American Bulldog mix who joined the MHS family with his sister Ruby. This guy is already 85lbs and still growing! If you are searching for a happy-go-lucky, goofy, playful, and affectionate pup, look no further... Duke is your guy! Duke gets along great with other dogs, walks great on a leash, and is learning his basic commands. Duke loves his walks and going for a run, but also loves his chill time with his favorite people. Duke is housebroken and crate-trained. We are saying children over 5 for Duke because although he lived with a young child before, he likes to jump up to give hugs when he greets his people, and well, sometimes Duke doesn't realize how big he is. Duke is UTD on his vaccinations, micro-chipped and will be neutered. If you would like to make Duke a part of your family, please fill out an application today! https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27

Story
Welcome Ruby to CCPAL Rescue Foster Program. Ruby is a 13-month old German Shepherd Dog. We are guessing she will be 60 pounds full grown. She is either a high mix or pure GSD. She was dumped at our Vet Office and our Vet is fostering her and vetting her. She is potty trained and good on a leash. She is crate trained and likes to ride in the car. She is healthy, vaccinated and on the schedule to be spayed. We would love a previous GSD owner. Young GSDs are energetic and will need mental and physical stimulation to be happy. GSD dogs are typically good with children. She has been around one child at the vet office and numerous people. She has done great with all the above. She is timid in new surroundings but the Vet is doing a great job with her. She bonds deeply and really loves her foster dad. She would be great with a young person or family that is active and looking for an active companion. She is good in a crate, good in a car and very smart. She has some slope on her back but not too much with means she will have less trouble with her hips in the future over the more sloped backs. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpal.info/ See her cute video!!

Story
This lovely girl is already here and looking for a place where she can lay her head down every night to rest and dream. If interested in adopting, fostering, or fostering to adopt Sadie please fill out an application here http://www.bestfriendsforlifeanimalrescue.com/ Sadie I'm thinking maybe we could rest and dream This world in not enough for me Sadie This may sound crazy but I don't always dream I just can't fall asleep without you I'm counting down the days since I've seen your smile, your face- from 'Sadie' by The Bunny The Bear. Sadie is a sweet 2 year old Shepherd mix weighing 55 lbs. She is already house and crate trained and is working on improving her leash manners. She can be a little shy at first but quickly resumes her sweet loving affectionate demeanor. She is good with other dogs. She has not been around cats so we are unsure how she would react to them. She made the road trip from a Kansas shelter to our rescue in CT quite well. Sadie is already spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, current on preventatives, and micro chipped. All she needs now is her very own forever loving family and home where the world will finally be a good place. Will you be the one who will give her a wonderful life where together you can rest and dream? Will you be the one who will always come back to Sadie?
