Story
Greetings, mortals! I am Aries, a majestic male dog with a powerful spirit that rivals the might of the gods themselves. My lineage is a fusion of strength and courage, much like the mythical Greek warriors of old. As a German Shepherd mix, I bear the mantle of both protector and loyal companion, ready to embark on epic adventures by your side. Behold, my most distinctive feature: my big, floppy ears that listen keenly to the whispers of the wind and the secrets of the world around me. They stand as a testament to my unwavering vigilance, always attuned to the slightest rustle or sign of danger. Like the fiery ram that represents my namesake constellation, I possess boundless energy and a fiery spirit. With every step I take, I channel the might of the heavens, exuding the strength and grace befitting of a true Greek hero. My paws tread the earth with purpose, and my heart beats with the fervor of an ancient battle cry. But fear not, for beneath my divine exterior lies a heart overflowing with affection. I am not just a warrior; I am a loyal and loving companion. Together, we shall conquer every challenge and forge an unbreakable bond that even the gods would envy. So, dear mortal, if you seek a canine ally who embodies the essence of a Greek legend, look no further. I, Aries, the German Shepherd mix with big floppy ears, am here to join you on a quest of a lifetime. Let us create a mythic tale of companionship and courage that will be sung by bards for generations to come. Story
Poor Bella was seen being dumped by her owner on a commercial street where big rigs constantly are passing through. It took a few days for us to build her trust to bring her to safety in our yard. Full of ticks and fleas we were able to clean her and give her love and attention which by the looks of it she never had love since she had the collar marks embedded into her fur where she had been tied up :( Bella loves toys and gets the zoomies when excited. She loves to run so preferably go to someone with a big yard or an active person. She is always high alert so she is always taking care of the house. She is very loyal to her person and shows how grateful she is to her foster family. She has her own personality and just wants love attention and she is ready to be spoiled by her forever family. * she will need a 6 foot fence * she does get along with dogs but gets jealous about her person *no cats *loves to Play in kiddie pool *walks on leash ok but still learning not to pull Bella Marie deserves a real home and will be your most loyal buddy ever!!! Love me back and that is a recipe for an AMAZING LIFE!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Calista is a beautiful, crazy, playful, rambunctious 2 year old German Shepherd. Found out in the woods in Rio Grande Valley with her mom and sister fending for themselves and trying to survive the coyotes. She was very skittish when she arrived at the rescue, and at times can still be, but she has come a long way. She gets excited and does a crazy spin in her excitement. She loves playing with other dogs, loves treats and playing with her foster siblings. She really needs a patient person who knows the breed and is willing to work with her and have the dedication to wait until she shows her very silly side :) Her foster mom has learned her secret- treats and smelling like hot dogs/ peanut butter helps! Calista loves other dogs and gets along great with her foster homes pack. She is playful and energetic with them. Sometimes maybe too energetic as she can be an escape artist and find even the smallest of holes in the fence to see if she can fit and make a b-line to the neighbors house! Calista will need to stay local to Texas for the time being. Each day she is gaining confidence and understanding and realizing that people are not all mean and that there ares some out there that really do love dogs and want nothing but goodness for them. If you think you are ready to give Calista love, attention and help her build trust and confidence in herself and you then please apply! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX only)

Cole's in the house! And he's ready to be adopted! This cute, chunky boy does well with others and is super laid back! He loves to have his back scratched! Cole is a bit shy and will need a loving and accepting family to coax him out of his shell. He and his siblings came from the streets as pups and he has had the hardest time becoming more social and comfortable with new people. But he HAS made significant strides!! Cole has some hip issues and has had one surgery to help his hip feel better. He has recovered and is feeling better and better :) Some basic information about Cole; he is a male, Shepherd/Husky mix, and is expected to be medium-sized (20-59lbs). He is waiting for you at the gate! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Meet Novak, this handsome boy is a 69 lb. German shepherd mix breed who adores everyone he meets. He is ready and eager to meet the family of his dreams and find the perfect home. We know that the family that takes Novak home will have wonderful memories to share with family and friends. At 7 years old, Novak has matured, and values love and the people who are willing to offer it unconditionally to him. We do not know what his past was like, but we do know that he has a bright future. He stands tall on his three legs and carries on like any other dog with his physical abilities. He expressed a disinterest to the feline persuasion so a home without a cat will be ideal for Novak. However, he does well with children and enjoys their company. He walks well on a leash and is house trained. Crate training will need more time to master but Novak will be giving one hundred percent to be a success. It would be best to have a home where Novak does not have to climb a set of stairs. He is a napper by nature so he would be content to curl up on the sofa and snooze away. He does not spend all his time catching sleep because he does enjoy going for walks as well. He walks like a dream on the leash and all eyes are sure to be on him. His sweet and endearing personality will seal the deal in making new friends. Are you ready to write a happy ending for this amazing dog with all the love that you can give him? Read on to get the ball rolling. The adoption fee for Novak is $300. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. Story
Sabrina is a sweet German Shepherd mix with a medium length brindle and black coat. At three years old, she is fully grown and is a medium sized gal, weighing 46 pounds. Sabrina was found fending for herself when she was brought to a nearby shelter. She is a smart and obedient girl who has her basic obedience down. She is extremely affectionate and adores people. She walks fairly well on leash, is house trained, and is becoming acclimated to using a crate. Her feelings about cats are unknown. However, she absolutely adores children. While Sabrina would be a nice addition to any home, she will need some time to decompress when she first arrives. She thrives with consistency and a predictable routine will set her up for success right from the start. She would do best as the only pet. Sabrina is ready for a forever home that will continue with training and exercise. If you are looking for a great companion who is happy to work and snuggle on the couch, Sabrina just be the right dog for you!The adoption fee for Sabrina is $500. Story
Rodney is a happy and energetic German Shepard mix. Rodney loves to play with other dogs and wants to be friends with everybody! He loves to play fetch outside with sticks or balls and he loves to play in water. Rockets favorite thing is playtime with his doggy friends and would prefer a home that has a playmate that can match his size and energy. Rodney lives with cats in his foster home and he doesn’t try to hurt them but he likes to chase them once in a while. He loves children but he is clumsy so he would do best in a home without small children.

To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Sweet, friendly, well-socialized, be sure to watch her video!  Ava is a 3yo female German Shepherd / husky mix who was rescued as a stray in rural TN. Ava was microchipped but, when contacted, her owner didn’t want her back. Gentle, calm, low maintenance. Great with other dogs and fine with cats, living with a dog & cat in her foster home. Great with kids and gentle with the foster mom’s young nephews. Playful with moderate activity level outside and settles down quickly in the house. Good house manners. Housebroken but never crated because she doesn’t need to be. Obeys basic commands.  Loves to be with her people.  When she first came to us, Ava had heartworms but she was treated without complications and is now ready for adoption. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 50 pounds. AWESOME young GSD mix will make a wonderful companion (and jogging partner!) for an active family who loves the breed. Story
To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Summer is a beautiful 2yo female white German Shepherd Dog who was rescued as a stray in Memphis.  Friendly, well socialized, never meets a stranger!  (be sure to watch her video!). Good with kids although recommended for older kids just due to her size and enthusiasm!  Fine with other dogs.  Not recommended for cats because she likes to chase them.  Playful with moderate activity level outside and settles down quickly in the house. Good house manners. Housebroken but not crated because she doesn’t need to be. Obeys basic commands.  Loves to be with her people.  When she first came to us, Summer had heartworms, but she was treated without complications and cured and is now ready for adoption. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 80 pounds. AWESOME young GSD will make a great companion (and jogging partner) for an active family who loves the breed. Here’s a note from her foster mom.  This is Summer. I found her running in traffic in July. She was nothing but ribs and hip bones when I found her, clearly she’d been on the streets alone for a while. I couldn’t leave her there. I took Summer to the vet, she had heartworms but she was treated and cured. She’s dog friendly but a little too active for my 2 senior dogs who just want to sleep all day! But she is dog friendly.   Last month we were harassed by 2 stray dogs during our walk but Summer never fought back or showed any aggression and we were able to just hurry away. She’s very friendly with people, even strangers.  And good with kids. She’s somewhat obedience trained and knows some verbal/hand commands.  She has mild separation anxiety and doesn’t like being left alone and doesn’t like it when people yell.  Summer’s ideal Adopter should have experience with GSD's, be patient and willing to work with her separation anxiety, be able to spend a lot of time at home and enjoy an active lifestyle. Summer is a wonderful young dog and anybody who loves shepherds would be very happy with her. To adopt please fill out an adoption application.Contact us at reply@gooddogrescue.com  visit us at Good Dog RescueFebruary 3, 2025, 6:27 am

Story
Meet Ranger, the intelligent and active Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and boundless energy. This handsome boy is a fast learner and has mastered essential commands like sit, down, wait, and shake. He's so clever that he tackled a level 3 puzzle on his first try! Ranger is a well-behaved and well-trained pup, making him a pleasure to have around the house. He's house trained, crate trained, and shows no signs of destructiveness indoors. However, he does experience some separation anxiety when his human leaves the house, which is why he's kept in his crate during errands. But don't worry, when he's playing in the backyard with his furry friend, he's perfectly content and doesn't exhibit any separation anxiety. Ranger is an active boy who loves going on walks, and he'll gladly accompany you on all your outdoor adventures. While Ranger is intelligent and affectionate, he can be barrier reactive, meaning he may react when he encounters certain barriers or boundaries. Patience and positive reinforcement training can help him overcome this behavior. This is very typical behavior for both breeds and he absolutely has to be adopted into a Mali/GSD knowledgeable family/ Ranger was in pretty rough shape when rescued and the vet initially thought he had an intestinal disease. Nothing was definitively diagnosed but the vet believes he has small intestinal issues. He is on a folate vitamin daily and will just need annual lab work and a high quality RAW FOOD diet. Ranger's charm and charisma shine through in the photos and videos provided, capturing his playful and loving nature. If you're looking for a smart, active, and affectionate companion, Ranger is the perfect match. Give him the love and care he deserves, and he'll reward you with loyalty and companionship like no other. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
