Story
Greetings, mortals! I am Aries, a majestic male dog with a powerful spirit that rivals the might of the gods themselves. My lineage is a fusion of strength and courage, much like the mythical Greek warriors of old. As a German Shepherd mix, I bear the mantle of both protector and loyal companion, ready to embark on epic adventures by your side. Behold, my most distinctive feature: my big, floppy ears that listen keenly to the whispers of the wind and the secrets of the world around me. They stand as a testament to my unwavering vigilance, always attuned to the slightest rustle or sign of danger. Like the fiery ram that represents my namesake constellation, I possess boundless energy and a fiery spirit. With every step I take, I channel the might of the heavens, exuding the strength and grace befitting of a true Greek hero. My paws tread the earth with purpose, and my heart beats with the fervor of an ancient battle cry. But fear not, for beneath my divine exterior lies a heart overflowing with affection. I am not just a warrior; I am a loyal and loving companion. Together, we shall conquer every challenge and forge an unbreakable bond that even the gods would envy. So, dear mortal, if you seek a canine ally who embodies the essence of a Greek legend, look no further. I, Aries, the German Shepherd mix with big floppy ears, am here to join you on a quest of a lifetime. Let us create a mythic tale of companionship and courage that will be sung by bards for generations to come. Story
Meet Heidi, the magnificent 70 lb German Shepherd with a heart as beautiful as her black and tan coat. This sweet senior female is ready to find her forever home with a family who will cherish her gentle nature and loving spirit. Heidi's friendly disposition makes her an ideal companion for adults and kids alike. She's a joy to be around and gets along well with people and other dogs. However, cats might not be her cup of tea, so a cat-free home is preferable. Though she may not love the crate, Heidi is house-trained and prefers to be close to her human pack. She adores spending time outdoors, especially hunting mice and squirrels in a yard, making a home with a yard a must for her. Her backstory is one of triumph over fear and anxiety. After being found wandering a neighborhood, Heidi was initially anxious and insecure, but her foster family and their other six dogs have worked wonders for her confidence and happiness. She has turned into a playful, secure, and happy girl, no longer needing anxiety medication. Heidi is a versatile companion who enjoys walking, playing fetch with squeaky toys and tennis balls, and being a loving and nurturing nanny to her doggy friends. She's a devoted and faithful companion, always by your side, offering comfort when needed. Her ideal adopter would be someone who works from home or is retired, as Heidi thrives in the company of her loved ones. She gets along well with most dogs but may feel a bit nervous around more dominant ones. Heidi's charm extends to her adorable crooked ear, adding to her endearing looks. With her heart of gold and gentle nature, she's one of the sweetest and kindest girls you'll ever meet. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who will bring joy to your life, Heidi is the one for you. Embrace this wonderful girl and let her fill your days with love, laughter, and cherished memories. With Heidi by your side, life will be brighter, and your heart will be full. Story
Hi people of San Antonio! My name is Ralf aka Ralfy aka Ralfy Palfy. My fosters gave me the last nickname because they say I will make someone a great Pal. You see, I was found on the side of the road barely alive after being hit by a car. I couldn't walk very well because my pelvis was broken in three places. But after visiting this place called the veterinarian, I started feeling much better. Unfortunately before my accident I had never met kind humans and still to this day, I'm very easily startled and scared of new people. It's going to take someone very special and patient to earn my trust. But once you earn it, I'm the sweetest and most gentle dog ever. I love love love chest rubs and ear scratches. But my number one love of all time is treats!!! I love all flavors so if you decide to take me home, don't be shy when shopping for me! I enjoy sunbathing and relaxing in my kennel. It's my safe place when I feel overwhelmed. I promise to love you if you promise to take the time to get to know me. I will do best in a quiet house with maybe 1 or 2 adults and an older mature doggy friend. I don't care much for traveling and prefer to be a homebody. I do love to play with doggy friends and don't mind cats either. I'm currently working on becoming more confident in public spaces. What do you say? Can you give me a shot? Ralf is kennel trained and potty trained. He is a local adoption only. His current foster is a trainer who is willing to offer two free sessions along with his adoption to set you both up for success and better help you understand what he will need and how you can help provide that for him. He is a Shepherd mix that weighs roughly 50lbs. Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

Story
Poor Bella was seen being dumped by her owner on a commercial street where big rigs constantly are passing through. It took a few days for us to build her trust to bring her to safety in our yard. Full of ticks and fleas we were able to clean her and give her love and attention which by the looks of it she never had love since she had the collar marks embedded into her fur where she had been tied up :( Bella loves toys and gets the zoomies when excited. She loves to run so preferably go to someone with a big yard or an active person. She is always high alert so she is always taking care of the house. She is very loyal to her person and shows how grateful she is to her foster family. She has her own personality and just wants love attention and she is ready to be spoiled by her forever family. * she will need a 6 foot fence * she does get along with dogs but gets jealous about her person *no cats *loves to Play in kiddie pool *walks on leash ok but still learning not to pull Bella Marie deserves a real home and will be your most loyal buddy ever!!! Love me back and that is a recipe for an AMAZING LIFE!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Calista is a beautiful, crazy, playful, rambunctious 2 year old German Shepherd. Found out in the woods in Rio Grande Valley with her mom and sister fending for themselves and trying to survive the coyotes. She was very skittish when she arrived at the rescue, and at times can still be, but she has come a long way. She gets excited and does a crazy spin in her excitement. She loves playing with other dogs, loves treats and playing with her foster siblings. She really needs a patient person who knows the breed and is willing to work with her and have the dedication to wait until she shows her very silly side :) Her foster mom has learned her secret- treats and smelling like hot dogs/ peanut butter helps! Calista loves other dogs and gets along great with her foster homes pack. She is playful and energetic with them. Sometimes maybe too energetic as she can be an escape artist and find even the smallest of holes in the fence to see if she can fit and make a b-line to the neighbors house! Calista will need to stay local to Texas for the time being. Each day she is gaining confidence and understanding and realizing that people are not all mean and that there ares some out there that really do love dogs and want nothing but goodness for them. If you think you are ready to give Calista love, attention and help her build trust and confidence in herself and you then please apply! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX only)

Story
Meet Novak, this handsome boy is a 69 lb. German shepherd mix breed who adores everyone he meets. He is ready and eager to meet the family of his dreams and find the perfect home. We know that the family that takes Novak home will have wonderful memories to share with family and friends. At 7 years old, Novak has matured, and values love and the people who are willing to offer it unconditionally to him. We do not know what his past was like, but we do know that he has a bright future. He stands tall on his three legs and carries on like any other dog with his physical abilities. He expressed a disinterest to the feline persuasion so a home without a cat will be ideal for Novak. However, he does well with other dogs and children and will welcome their company. He walks well on a leash and is house trained. Crate training will need more time to master but Novak will be giving one hundred percent to be a success. He is a napper by nature so he would be content to curl up on the sofa and snooze away. He does not spend all his time catching sleep because he does enjoy going for walks as well. He walks like a dream on the leash and all eyes are sure to be on him. His sweet and endearing personality will seal the deal in making new friends. Are you ready to write a happy ending for this amazing dog with all the love that you can give him? Read on to get the ball rolling. The adoption fee for Novak is $300. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. We are not boasting, this affectionate pooch is truly a well-kept secret. Say hello to Sabrina, a sweet female German Shepherd mix with a medium length brindle and black coat. At 2 years, 10 months of age she is fully grown and is a medium sized gal, weighing 46 pounds. Sabrina was out in the world fending for herself when, as luck would have it, she was brought to a nearby shelter. She is a smart, obedient girl who knows 4 basic commands. She is loving, enjoys car rides and playing with other dogs. She is great on a leash, is crate trained and is house trained as well. A wonderful gal like Sabrina will need time to adjust to a routine in her new home, so it is important to remember that although she is house trained, accidents can occur while adjusting to a new surroundings. Her comfort around small children and cats is unknown. Sabrina is primed and ready for a forever home that is committed to training, exercise and socialization. And hugs, lots of hugs! Story
Meet Ranger, the intelligent and active Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and boundless energy. This handsome boy is a fast learner and has mastered essential commands like sit, down, wait, and shake. He's so clever that he tackled a level 3 puzzle on his first try! Ranger is a well-behaved and well-trained pup, making him a pleasure to have around the house. He's house trained, crate trained, and shows no signs of destructiveness indoors. However, he does experience some separation anxiety when his human leaves the house, which is why he's kept in his crate during errands. But don't worry, when he's playing in the backyard with his furry friend, he's perfectly content and doesn't exhibit any separation anxiety. Ranger is an active boy who loves going on walks, and he'll gladly accompany you on all your outdoor adventures. While Ranger is intelligent and affectionate, he can be barrier reactive, meaning he may react when he encounters certain barriers or boundaries. Patience and positive reinforcement training can help him overcome this behavior. This is very typical behavior for both breeds and he absolutely has to be adopted into a Mali/GSD knowledgeable family/ Ranger was in pretty rough shape when rescued and the vet initially thought he had an intestinal disease. Nothing was definitively diagnosed but the vet believes he has small intestinal issues. He is on a folate vitamin daily and will just need annual lab work and a high quality RAW FOOD diet. Ranger's charm and charisma shine through in the photos and videos provided, capturing his playful and loving nature. If you're looking for a smart, active, and affectionate companion, Ranger is the perfect match. Give him the love and care he deserves, and he'll reward you with loyalty and companionship like no other.
