Story
Meet Eli, a sweet one-year-old, 40 lb. German Shepherd with quite a story to tell. He was found down south with a pellet lodged in his spine...yes, that's right, somebody actually shot this precious pup! Despite knowing only cruelty from humans in the past, Eli has thrived under the care of his current foster family, now on Long Island. Eli is very sweet and loves to play with toys. He is a happy boy who loves affection and knows exactly the right time to howl in the song, “Werewolves of London!” He likes the company of other dogs but has never been around cats. Now, Eli needs a very special person...he can walk but does suffer from some internal paralysis resulting in mild bladder and bowel dysfunction. Will you be the one to save this handsome deserving soul and give him a second chance? **This is a courtesy post for PAWS Long Island. If you have specific questions about Eli or are interested in applying/meeting him, please email adoptions@paws-li.org or call 631-306-4616. You can also CC or email info@happilyfureverafter.org directly.

Story
*Name:Millie *Age: Approx DOB 08/24/2013 *Current Weight: 68 pounds Hi my name is Millie and I'm a German Shepherd mix. I'm about 8 years old, a total love bug and absolutely love being with my humans! Sadly, my owner moved away and left me behind in the house and I was starving when the police officers saved me. I can be a little nervous because I'm afraid of getting left behind again but my foster mom is working with me so I understand its ok to be alone for a little bit. I'm working on my potty training and will need some help learning how to walk on a leash, but I sit great! I would be good for someone who likes to go running, jogging, hiking.I like to play fetch with my toys. I like kids and love other dogs! I just am not a fan of cats or birds. I'm looking for my family a home to call my own and the family to love me  unconditionally. Story
*Name: Emma  *Age: 3.5 years old *Current Weight: 65 lbs *Adoption fee: $475  Emma is an adorable 3.5 year-old German Shepherd mix who is eagerly searching for her forever home. Emma was originally rescued with her sister Ella and their dual litter of puppies. Both Emma and Ella were completely emaciated, giving all the energy they had to keep their puppies alive. Because of Emma and Ella’s incredible perseverance and amazing maternal instincts, all of their puppies survived and are now thriving in their own homes. Now it’s Emma’s turn at a happily ever after!!  Emma is an incredibly polite, gentle girl with an even keeled temperament. She’s not overly jumpy or hyperactive at all. She greets people a little reserved with a nice, relaxed tail wag and a few sniffs of curiosity. Then she’ll look adoringly up at you with her big, soulful eyes wondering What’s Next?! Once Emma gets to know you, she will begin to show you her affectionate, silly side while she lets loose sprinting in circles around the yard, often stopping to take a break by laying by your side giving you the most epic “Love Gaze”! Now you have a friend for life!!  Emma has a wonderfully agreeable nature. She is happy to tag along with you on your average daily adventures like long walks or a nice hike in the woods. Indoors, Emma is content following you around the house doing chores together and then cuddling on the couch for an evening of downtime. Emma would do best in a home without other dogs, she wants to have all of your attention to herself!  Emma is an absolute treasure and will be a devoted family companion every minute of everyday. Give Emma the love, care, and understanding she needs, and she will repay you with a lifetime of loyalty! Are you ready to open your heart and home to Emma? Story
To my future owner, My name is Mowu. I am a 3 1/2 year old German Shepherd and have been living with my family since I was 8 weeks. My family has since broken up, and I’m losing my home and very sad because I love my little brothers and Mom and Dad. I love to protect and be with them all day. I am a really awesome pup that knows several commands (27 to be exact) and I am completely house-trained. I love to hang out in my crate with my big bed and play with my squeaky toys. I also love to play fetch with my ball in the yard. My Dad even trained me off leash! Some of my favorite things are Kongs with peanut butter and rolled rawhide bones. I am super smart and have lots of fun doing treat puzzles and I’m really good at them. Please give me a chance to meet you and I’m sure you’ll love me as much as I will love you!
