Story
We rescued Sidney from a horrific shelter in Memphis, TN. When we got him, he was skin and bones and had some barrier aggression issues (who knows what horrors he suffered there) It didn't take long for Sidney to realize he was now safe and could start letting down his guard. Sidney Poitier has filled out and is truly a stunning dog. Sidney is about 2 years old, and is at his healthy weight of 80 lbs. Sidney is a very intelligent fellow, he learns quicky and is anxious to please. He will do well with a job and/or a lot of stimulation, long walks and hikes. He will do well with an experienced dog person. Sidney loves meeting new people. He has done well with large dogs he has met, however he is would not be good with small dogs or cats. Sidney does show barrier reactivity, however, when the barrier is removed (whether it is a crate, fence or car window) he show absolutely no issues. Because Sidney likes a lot of activity, he will need a securely fenced yard (must be a physical fence, not an electric or invisible system)  He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and on monthly treatment for flea/ticks and heartworm prevention Sidney is currently located in the Middle TN area but transport is included in the adoption fee for approved adopter If you are interested in Sidney Poitier, email cox_ann@bellsouth.net for an application

Story
My name is Tucker. I am a big, lovable, and goofy puppy. I love nothing more than to get love and cuddles from my human. I also love to play outside. I am crate trained and almost completely potty trained.I would do well in a home with another dog my size. Because I am a big puppy, I wouldn’t be a good fit in a household with small children. Although I love my foster home, I can’t wait to find my furever home. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention. If you would like to meet this precious guy and make him part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ Tucker is located in North Alabama with transport available to your area. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. All Friends of Rescue animals are indoor family members. Please let us know if you’d like more information on our foster to adopt program.

Story
Onyx is looking for an experienced handler to provide the time neccessary to continue training. He is a loyal, obedient and requires a job to keep his energy level down. He is crate trained and would benefit from the continued use of an e collar. Due to him being intact he does not do well with other intact males but is able to be around other dogs. Please consider this beautiful purebred gsd to accompany you in your active lifestyle.

Story
Mack is a purebred four year old Czechoslovakian Shepherd (similar to Dutch or Belgian Shepherds). He has had obedience training by the 203K-9 company and follows commands well. The breed is high energy and unfortunately we both work and cannot give him the amount of time he deserves to play and go out on walks. As we are a couple with two other dogs and a cat, we haven't been able to get them to all get along and therefore must find him a new home where he will get all the attention. This breed is often used for many jobs such as search and rescue, police, military, etc. He might not be young enough to start such programs at age four, but he would be great at them. He will make a wonderful companion to someone who has a large fenced in yard with no other pets or young children. We will require a visit to your home as it is extremely important to us that he is matched to the right new owner. Loyal and loving, he is an all around great dog like RinTinTin!

Story
Diesel is such a sweet boy, but my family dynamics have changed and we cannot give him the attention and time he needs. Diesel loves cuddling and is very affectionate. We've had him since he was about 4 months old. He is a pure GS with his breed of record certificate. He is an active dog, and sometimes thinks he's still a puppy. He is completely housebroken with no accidents since he was a pup, this could be due to having him on a schedule. He is smart! His high intelligence should not go to waste, keep him engaged or he will find unproductive ways to keep himself occupied. This has been a 2 year battle of going back and fourth with rehoming him as he is the perfect dog, he just deserves a family to give him the time and attention we can no longer provide for him.
