Story
"Meet Debbie 🤍 Debbie is a 2-year-old, 40 lb shepherd mix with a tender heart and a playful spirit. She was adopted as a young pup and returned to our care a year later. Now that she’s 2, we know so much more about what she needs to truly thrive — and it’s a special, understanding home. Debbie is looking for a calm environment with minimal visitors and no kiddos. She needs patience, consistency, and clear structure to help her feel safe and confident. Once she settles in, her goofy, loving personality really shines. She would absolutely love a playful dog companion to help burn energy and build confidence. Debbie is an enthusiastic player and sometimes uses her teeth during play — think silly “love nibbles” that just need continued guidance and appropriate outlets. One of her most endearing quirks? She has an emotional support tire (her beloved “wheel”) that she proudly carries around, chases, and will gently drop at your feet — sometimes right in your toes while you’re cooking — as her way of including you in the fun. It’s her comfort item and her joy all in one. She also has a soft side: peanut butter and yogurt licked off a spoon are absolute favorites, and those quiet bonding moments mean the world to her. Debbie isn’t for everyone — but for the right person who can offer patience, space, routine, and love, she will be a deeply loyal and entertaining companion. She just needs someone willing to meet her where she is and help her feel safe enough to blossom. 💛" Debbie is being fostered in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/debbie/. Story
Hi! I’m Maislie! I am a very sweet and affectionate collie mix who is just now 1 year old. Do you see my perfect collie widows peak on my forehead and gorgeous white chest? I am so beautiful! I have a nub as a tail and though I look big in my photos, I am just a tall, thin girl weighing in at just 46lbs. I think I should really be a model! I am a pretty easy going dog for being so young. I love my human foster family, including the kids ages 6 & 9. When guests come over, I go up to say hi, but can be a bit shy for lots of pets at first, but I warm up quick! I enjoy my days between hanging in the backyard with my foster dog siblings and sleeping in dogs bed in my humans’ home office. I match the energy of my foster home well and figured out the routine in just a couple days! I also love my foster dog siblings! I take corrections from other dogs extremly well (I am a passive dog in general) and match play style just fine. I love to play chase with the dogs, tug-o-war, and just play wrestle. Sunbathing lately has been fantastic! I would be totally ok in a home without other dogs too…just soaking up all the attention from my humans! I am house broken and I use a dog door with ease. I am crate trained and am very quiet in it. You do have to throw in a treat first though! LOL! Bribe me cause I am very food motivated! I am good in the car too! All in all, I am looking for a family that I can smother with love forever and ever! Is that yours? Story
Polaris is a young girl who was found dumped on the side of the road with a bag of dog food dumped on the ground as her only help for survival. A good samaritan picked her up and contacted me. Help Polaris never face that kind of treatment again by giving her a forever home. She is very sweet and friendly and great with other dogs and people and kids. She definitely has a prey drive though, which is not at all unusual for dogs, so no kitties or small animals. She walks well on the leash and does well in a crate. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: spayed, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Hi there, my name is Leila. I'm the best dog greeter in my doggie daycare. I love balls and toys, going for car rides and love to play with dogs and people.  I walk well on leash, but am scared of bikes and scooters - wheelie things are weird!  I am extremely affectionate and loveable. I have a million facial expressions. I love being outside and playing in the snow. I'm working on my nice leash walking, but am making good progress. I love to explore and sometimes my nose leads me off path.  I would make a great addition to an active home preferably with another dog!  If you're interested in meeting me please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email thegooddogrescueadoptions@gmail.com with your interest in me!) My adoption fee is $300 and I am spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations ##2079620##
