Have you ever seen a pup as stunning as Fiona? With her silky white coat and sparkling amber eyes, she’s a true beauty inside and out. But Fiona’s perfection goes beyond her looks – she’s a fighter with an incredibly sweet and resilient spirit. Born with one leg that wasn't fully developed, Fiona’s difference makes her even more special. Fiona’s journey began in a high-kill shelter in Houston, where she was surrendered by her owner. Due to her leg, she was quickly added to the euthanasia list. But fate had a different plan when the director of our rescue visited the shelter and met Fiona. It was love at first sight – her sweet personality was impossible to ignore, and we knew we had to save her. Thanks to a compassionate foster, Fiona made it out just in time! About Fiona: Age: 1 year old Energy Level: Medium – loves playing outside and going on adventures, but equally enjoys snuggling up for some cozy couch time! Training: Potty trained, crate trained, and knows how to “sit” like a good girl. Social: Fiona is incredibly friendly with people and dogs alike, though she may be a little too enthusiastic around cats (she likes to chase them!). She’d do best in a home without cats or with a cat who can tolerate her playful energy. Fiona may have a little extra wobble in her step, but she doesn’t let that slow her down. We’re consulting with a specialist to determine whether amputation might help her stability (she does try to use the leg, which sometimes causes her to lose her balance), or if she’ll continue rocking her one-of-a-kind walk. Either way, Fiona is an absolute joy to be around! Fiona is incredibly smart and loves to learn, so she’d thrive in a home where she can continue her training and grow into the best Fiona she can be. Could Fiona be your perfect match? If you're looking for a loving, adventurous companion to share your life with, Fiona might just be your next best friend. Whether it’s playing outside, exploring new places, or curling up on the couch, she’s ready to be a part of your family. Apply to adopt Fiona today and give her the forever home she deserves! For more information, reach out to: info@destinationrescue.org amber.schroeder@gmail.com 602-743-0006 Fiona is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas, but she’s available for adoption across the country. The adoption fee includes transport.February 14, 2025, 10:33 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Fiona, and I am the sweetest love bug you will ever meet! I want to be upfront with you about something important—though I have so much love to give, I do have a heart condition called Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). This means that one of the blood vessels in my heart didn’t close as it should have after birth. My cardiologist believes I have about 3 years to live, but I’m not letting that stop me! Every day is a precious gift, and I’m focused on filling it with joy, snuggles, and hoping to find someone to take me on the best adventures life has to offer me. I spent my early years living outside as a breeding dog until I was rescued! Now I’m living my best life as an indoor pet, and I’ve adjusted beautifully to the soft life. I love snuggling up in cozy dog beds, munching on treats, and using my plushy toys as pillows when I sleep. I am house trained, can sit, and walk wonderfully on a leash. My foster mom says I’m the fastest learner when treats are involved!  I’ve been on some great adventures with my foster family—hitting breweries, hiking mountains, and playing with their friends' pups. I’m very gentle and polite with everyone I meet, even saying hello to small children at the breweries! I would do wonderfully in many environments: whether with a family with kids, an adventurous couple or single person, or even with a homebody—just as long as I have people to love and cozy dog beds to nap in, I’m one happy pup! Are you looking for a loyal, snuggly, and sweet best friend? If so, let’s meet—I can't wait to be a part of your family! ##2250912##

Story
Draco is such a loving dog, super friendly and I adopted him when he was just 3 months old ( he’s now 1 year 4 months). He needs a better home, he is active and can run for miles and miles, he requires more training and an attentive family! I cannot provide that for him anymore. His favorite pass time is tormenting the squirrels outside or destuffing any stuffy toy, he also loves bones! If I didn’t have to move I would beg for more time with him but it’s not fair for him, he deserves a huge yard and brothers to play with! Overall he an amazing dog and just a love bug! He’s a trouble maker but he has an amazing personality! He is a shepard mix!
