You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Gustaf, and I'm a male GSD wjth an estimated DOB of 10/6/21 who was adopted out in 2022 when I was a cute puppy then returned because I was given too much freedom which led to problems. I ended up chasing bicycles and I grabbed the mailman's calf while delivering mail one day.  I'm guarded when I first meet new people, but I do warm up over time with slow introductions, and once you're in my inner circle, I'm very affectionate and loving. The rescue is hoping to find a home without young children as they can open doors accidentally. Update: For the last several months, I've been living with a foster who's also a dog trainer and I've made amazing progress!  I have done well around other dogs, both large and small, with proper introductions.  I LOVE to play fetch! I've also done well with the resident kitties. I've been non-reactive to people and other dogs while on walks. Nothing brings me more joy than pleasing my humans. My commands are spot-on, and I know sit/stay, down/stay, come, heel and place. I've had lots of fun accompanying my foster parents on hiking, camping and road trips. I'm a boy who thrives with structure, routine and proper exercise. I need a patient, GSD-experienced adopter. Is that you? If you are interested, please go to adoptagsd.org and submit an online application. My adoption fee is $400.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. If you are interested in the dog described below, please contact Paula at paula.gessert@yahoo.com Hi, my name is Referral Aiyanna, and I'm a beautiful female GSD mix with an estimated DOB of 5/6/2019. I arrived at my current residence where my former owner lived for a time with another couple. My owner moved on and I stayed with the couple who've taken excellent care of me. I'm up to date on my vaccines, I've been spayed and microchipped. Unfortunately, one of the resident dogs doesn't like me, so the couple has had to keep us separated. As a result, I've had to spend a good bit of time being crated and the couple would like to see if there's someone out there who could offer me a life of adventures and attention. I'm a cuddle bug and I love to be near my person. I do have Pannus, and I'll need eye drops daily. I'm a very playful girl who would love to have a male canine play buddy if possible, but if not, that's okay too. This couple has agreed to keep me until the rescue can find a new home for me. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Ava Marie, and I'm a pretty GSD with an estimated DOB of 3/23/20 who was returned to FRGSR by my former owner who claimed I wasn't doing well with dogs or people. I'm living in a foster home with other dogs and my foster mom hasn't seen any issues with my interactions with other dogs. I'm overly curious about the cats, so a home without kitties would be best. I'm a dog who responds well to leadership and clear boundaries. I do have an eye condition that requires them to be flushed daily. Like most GSDs, I'm house trained, crate trained and I know some basic commands I'd love to have an adopter who will provide me with outdoor adventures. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, I'm Kayna, and I'm a pretty GSD with an estimated DOB of 7/16/18 who was transferred to FRGSR from a shelter where I was surrendered by my former owner because I wasn't exercised enough and I found ways of entertaining myself that didn't please him. I lived with other dogs and I did great with them. I also had an ear infection that wasn't treated by a vet until I was surrendered, and by that time, it was so bad that I had to have surgery. The shelter setting was really stressful for me, but things are much better now that I'm in a foster home. I'm both house and crate-trained, I know some basic obedience and I'm good with both people and other dogs but not cats!  I may benefit from living with an adopter who isn't gone for long periods of time. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Seuss, and I'm a handsome GSD with an estimated DOB of 3/21/19 who was transferred from a shelter where I first arrived as a stray. I was adopted out but returned a few days later because I was overprotective with my food around the other dog. It was noted that I did great with people and kids. I was then transferred to FRGSR and the volunteers are getting to know me. I'm a big boy who needs some basic obedience and leash work. I enjoy going for walks, playing in the snow and having my belly rubbed. I would likely benefit from an adopter with some GSD experience. I'm currently staying in a boarding kennel until a foster slot opens up. More info to come. If you are interested, please go to adoptagsd.org and submit an online application.
