Despite being nearly 9, Tanner has a lot of energy and needs stimulus via training. He enjoys long walks, playing frisbee and ball tosses. I love my dog and want a good next home. He is very sweet and needs a next owner who is patient. He has diagnosed anxiety but once he settles into your home, he’s a great dog.

Story
Hiro is a 45 lbs, 7 year old, German Shepherd mix that lost his home (along with his two canine siblings) when his family moved and didn’t take them. Since coming to CO, Hiro joined a fun foster family with other dogs and kiddos. He’s in heaven! Hiro is adjusting well, but we think he would appreciate a more mature home. He’s active and adventurous and will do well with an active home and a fenced in yard. He’s house and crate trained. Hiro enjoys playing with his canine foster siblings and snuggling on the couch with his foster moms. You can also find him sprawling across the bed in his best “paint me like a french girl” pose. Hiro is being fostered in Parker, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/hiro/. Story
Mike’s his name, velcro dog is his game. Mike entered MHCR in August of 2024. He came to us as an older fellow that was blind in both eyes with a bit of an attitude. A quick trip to the ophthalmologist revealed his eyes were causing him some pain and needed to come out. He quickly had them removed and it was then we saw him begin to blossom. Mike is like any other dog. He takes walks, goes for rides, snuggles, and plays with toys. He just can’t see. He doesn’t really require any special accommodations – he’s quite accustomed to living without his eyes and relies heavily on his sense of smell. Mike enjoys the foster kiddos in his foster home, but likely wouldn’t enjoy a busy, chaotic home. He’s good with other dogs after a proper intro, too! Mike’s foster mom says he’s stubborn and ridiculous and she has fallen so in love with him, she’s certain you will, too! Mike is approximately 7-8 years old and around 95 lbs. He’s a short and stocky guy! Mike is being fostered in Loveland, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/mike/. Story
These ladies are sisters, very attached to each other and cannot be separated. They are big love babies! They want your pets and attention, loves and treats and lots and LOTS of playtime! I adopted them from a family that was not expecting puppies, and I was not expecting this upcoming schedule shift. We no longer have the available time they need to live their best life. They have gone to the dog park a lot - they’re scaredy cats and take a while to warm up to other dogs, but once they do, it’s a party! They are pretty well trained as far as some simple commands, and they’re housebroken, but need more training for leash. I love them and this kills me, but it’s in THEIR best interest.

Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Athena is a very sweet 2 year old german shepherd who we absolutely love. She is a sweetheart who loves tummy rubs and all things outdoors. Due to a lifestyle change and welcoming a child, we are no longer able to provide her with the life she deserves and would like to see her go to a home where she will have plenty of space to run and play. She needs a family who will have patience and put in the time to earn her trust and loyalty. She is wonderful with our kiddo and absolutely devoted to us but she is territorial of her home to strangers and will be a great pet and protector to you if you take the time to win her over.
