Story
Meet Archie, a sweet and playful dog who's ready to find his forever home. 🧡🐶Archie can be timid when meeting new people and will require patience as he gets to know you. It is important to note he is more fearful of men and it will take him extra time to be comfortable around them. Once he is trusting, he will show you just how much love he has to give. He's a big fan of pets and affection, and once you've gained his friendship, he'll be your loyal companion. Archie is full of energy and would thrive in a home that can provide him with plenty of exercise and room to run and play. Ideally a house with a backyard. He loves his toys and enjoys getting outside and having fun, so he's sure to bring lots of joy to his new family.Due to his strong pulling on the leash, Archie will need someone who can guide him through training to help improve his leash manners. With some patience and consistency, he'll be a wonderful walking buddy. If you are looking for a loving and energetic dog to join your home Archie may just be the perfect fit for you!Do you think you could be Archie's person? Story
Meet Chase, a handsome 3-year-old German Shepherd with an energetic spirit and a heart full of love!Chase is looking for his forever home, where he can be a loyal companion and receive the love and attention he deserves. Unfortunately, Chase was surrendered to our centre when his previous owners were no longer able to care for him. He was primarily housed outdoors, though he has experience living in a home setting and is ready to adjust to an indoor lifestyle again.Chase is a friendly, smart and social dog. In his previous home he lived with children and has proven to do well with them, though due to his size and excitable nature, he would do best in a home with older kids who can handle his playful energy. When meeting new people or when he's excited, Chase can be jumpy and may pull slightly on leash. We have been working on improving his leash manners, and he would require a home willing to continue on with his training. Chase has been nothing but friendly with all of our staff, he loves to receive attention and affection from people. Chase has a history of separation anxiety in his previous home and he has been known to vocalize when left alone for extended periods. Because of this, Chase would thrive in a home where someone can work with him on this, helping him to settle into his new environment comfortably. With patience and consistency he can learn to feel more secure when left alone.Chase is a high-energy dog who thrives on exercise, mental stimulation, and outdoor adventures. He would love a family who can keep up with his active lifestyle and enjoy spending time outdoors. He may also do well in a home with another dog or with other furry friends outside of the home.If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion to share your life with, Chase could be the perfect match for you. He's ready to bring joy, love, and excitement to his new home.Do you think you could be Chase's person? Here are some ways to find out:1.) Story
Cooper is approx 2 years old, male and a mixed breed rescued as a puppy in Mexico. Cooper is well settled into life in Vancouver. He loves dog parks, doggy daycare and being on off leash adventures. A yard would be great for him as he can run for hours. An active owner will be best for Cooper, someone who will take him for outdoor trails and adventures. While cooper is social and friendly with everyone he meets, he is especially fond of women, perhaps because he was rescued and cared for by one. To apply to adopt Cooper please complete the adoption application on our website www.aboutadogrescuesociety.ca You can also find more video and photos of cooper there. Note: We are based in Vancouver and can only facilitate adoptions in our area or surrounding municipalities as part of our requirements is a home visit.

Story
Kelly is a 1-year-old German Shepherd/Jindo Mix who was rescued from a shelter that performs euthanasia. She had been taken there with her siblings, and while her siblings were adopted by other families, Kelly remained at the shelter. She was rescued just before euthanasia was performed. She is currently living in a foster home with cats and small children. She is friendly enough to approach cats and invite them to play, and she is gentle and kind with children. She is a little afraid of adult men, but if you give her plenty of time and approach her slowly, she can warm up quickly. She gets along well with other dogs and has a caring nature. She avoids conflict with other dogs, especially small dogs when they bark or become vicious. Kelly rarely barks inside the house, and may bark a few times if a stranger visits, but responds well to commands to stop. She is fully potty trained to only relieve herself outdoors. She has a calm demeaner and does not run or make a fuss indoors. Kelly is a wonderful dog with a neat personality who can get along well with other animals. If you give her time to warm up, she'll surely share much love with you. Be part of Kelly's caring and loving family. Story
*Currently fostered in Houston Texas, available for out of state adoptions via rescue transportation. Video meet and greet available prior to commitment* This dog is a collaborative effort between Moka's Mission and Houston Chow Chow Connection. Mocha is a fluffy mixed pup just eager to find her new lease in life. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas just moments before being euthanized. She is believed to be around 4 years old, and based on behaviors definitely has GSD, Chow Chow, and even possibly husky mixed in her as well. Current weight around 65, 70 lbs. Mocha is a smiling, eager to please, extremely intelligent pup who clearly has been desperate for reaching a potential that was never offered to her prior. She loves to play with toys now, ( was unfamiliar with on arrival) and can be quirky, and vocal during her playful bouts. A game of tug which result in some head pats is her favorite. She also is very smart, and when given attention and motivation is quick to learn. She already knows several basic commands including sit, shake, kennel, wait, settle, and leave it. She is extremely versatile and once she trusts you, will give you her best. If you want to go hiking or exercise, she is all about it. If you want a pup to relax in the home and enjoy a movie day, she is ready! She loves to curl up on the couch or at your feet when it's time to settle down, but when it's time to go she is the first one to be there and ready for you. She also loves to keep you company while you do the most menial house chore's such as laundry or dishes. Mocha clearly was kept away from other dogs and animals when she was owned previously, so we do think she'd be best as an only pup. Proper continued socialization training would be required in order for her to eventually be able to share space with other dogs, but she would need to be socialized as an only dog first before considering adding another in. She clearly has a desire to want to know other dogs and can walk by them and flirt while on leash just fine during walks. However, she hasn't had enough time and proper playmates to engage in playtime at present without being rough. Unfortunately, she is not ok with cats, which is to be expected of the breeds she possesses. Mocha is fully vetted meaning she is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and on monthly prevention for flea, tick, and heartworm. Her adoption fee and transport is dependent on services used. For more information on Mocha, please contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com, or to apply for adoption please fill out an application here: https://form.jotform.com/41173109602142

Story
Tulee wants to know if she can come and sleep in your bed!! She says she loves her sleepovers with the volunteers but she would really like a home of her own where she can lay around and receive all of the love and attention that she deserves. Tulee is a middle aged adult Shepherd/Husky mix. She says she isn't huge but she isn't tiny either. But she thinks she is tiny! She would prefer to be a solo dog as she has some arthritis now in her hips and doesn't like to play much with the other dogs. She does love to go for nice long walks though! It's one of her most favorite things to do other than lounge in your bed or in her dog bed. If this sounds like your kind of dog, please contact the shelter to meet Tulee! She would like an adult only home, but would also be totally ok with teens or respectful older children. She LOVES people, but being an older gal, little kids would be too much for her. ADOPTION INFORMATION Adoption Fee $114 Includes: -Spay/Neuter -First set of shots -One vet visit -Microchip -Bag of food If you live in Vancouver, you will also need to buy a dog license.
