Story
Cooper is approx 2 years old, male and a mixed breed rescued as a puppy in Mexico. Cooper is well settled into life in Vancouver. He loves dog parks, doggy daycare and being on off leash adventures. A yard would be great for him as he can run for hours. An active owner will be best for Cooper, someone who will take him for outdoor trails and adventures. While cooper is social and friendly with everyone he meets, he is especially fond of women, perhaps because he was rescued and cared for by one. To apply to adopt Cooper please complete the adoption application on our website www.aboutadogrescuesociety.ca You can also find more video and photos of cooper there. Note: We are based in Vancouver and can only facilitate adoptions in our area or surrounding municipalities as part of our requirements is a home visit.

Story
Meet Otto! Sweet, senior Otto was found as a stray up north with no identification. He waited in the shelter to be picked up, but sadly no one came for him. He has traveled down to meet you and is ready to find his comfy forever retirement home! Otto is a very friendly, snuggly guy that enjoys the company of humans and loves to go for walks. He is a bit on the rounder side, and is looking for an active companion that will take him out for his daily exercise to help him get to a healthier body condition. He is not a picky eater and is being a good sport about being put on a bit of a diet! He has lots of energy for an older guy and is excited to start his fitness journey, so he can continue to be an active senior.Otto is well socialized and is comfortable around humans. He can be selective with dogs and should have calm introductions. Are you willing to give this guy a life of leisure in retirement? Come meet Otto today at the West Van shelter from 12-3pm Tues-Sun! Story
Uma is a beautiful dog with lots of love to give! She is a very affectionate and brave dog who is always curious about the world around her. She is friendly to everyone she meets and loves to play and receive pets. Uma is very smart and protective of her loved ones. She enjoys being the center of attention and having a good time. Uma has so much love to give and is a very healthy dog for her age. She would be the perfect companion for someone looking for an independent, yet loving dog. Please take note, Uma is not good with other female dogs. She would prefer to be the only dog in the household. She has shown some resource guarding with high value food items so her new home should be capable of managing and working on that with her. Uma was a free roaming dog prior to her coming to the shelter. Other Dogs: Well matched, males preferred Cats: Unknown Kids: Yes but older 15+ Apartment: No Walks: Loves them!
