Story
Meet Humphrey — Your Future Couch Goblin and Car Ride Companion! “Hi, I’m Humphrey. I’m five years old, Frenchie fabulous, and I come with a beautiful brindle coat and a whole lot of character packed into my short, stocky frame.” Humphrey is a compact little tank of love who’s equal parts silly and sweet. He’s fully housebroken, crate trained, and knows how to be independent—but don’t be fooled, he loves being social and tagging along for all your daily adventures. Car ride? Don’t mind if he does. Toy time? Absolutely. Zoomies? You better believe it. But let’s be real—this little guy needs structure. “I play hard. Like, ‘I might accidentally body slam the toy box’ hard. Boundaries help me keep my cool, so I don’t turn into a tiny, brindle wrecking ball.” Humphrey has a big personality and doesn't always know how to be gentle. While he loves kids, we are not placing him in a home with young children due to the risk of accidental nipping during rough play. He’s also a little too good at packing on the pounds, which can make it tough for him to stay active and breathe comfortably. “Yeah, I can gain weight just looking at a treat. So let’s keep my snacks in check, okay?” A regulated diet and a reasonable amount of exercise will help keep Humphrey healthy and happy. Frenchies are known for being lovable clowns with medical quirks, and Humphrey is no exception. Because of their breed-specific health concerns, we require that adopters carry pet insurance to ensure he gets the care he may need down the road. If you’re looking for a loyal, hilarious, and slightly dramatic little shadow who thrives with structure and loves with his whole heart, Humphrey’s waiting to make your home 10x more fun (and 100% more adorable) ##2259464##

Story
Meet Pugsley Hey There, I'm Pugsley. I'm just a guy looking for that special love connection.  Are you my perfect match? At 4 years old, I am a fawn-colored, 24-pound French Bulldog/Chihuahua mix. My foster says I am an excellent companion dog. I am crate-trained and housetrained. I walk well on a leash, but I forget my manners if I see another dog on the walk and lunge when I see one. When I arrived at the rescue, I had some injuries possibly caused by rough encounters with other dogs or wildlife. Because of this, I can sometimes be aggressive when I see other dogs. Although I have had some tough times, I can be a great companion dog. My foster says, "He is always by my side when I'm home. He sleeps on the bed with me without trouble at all." I'm ready to live my best life. It would be best if there were no children under 10 in the home, and I would be best as an only dog. Walking with me can be challenging if we encounter another dog, so a house with a backyard is ideal. I would not be a good fit for a first-time dog owner. Still, I could thrive with an experienced handler who can help me develop my behavior, manners, and reactions with other dogs as I learn to feel safe and secure. When you get to know me, and I warm up to you, I can be a wonderful dog. I would love to show you that. If you are that special person, willing to give me a chance at my forever home, I can return that with loyalty and love. Let's meet and see if we can make the best team and live our best lives together. Learn more about our adoption process below and fill out an adoption application to take the first step in giving Pugsley the home he deserves! Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. APPLY HERE: www.richardsonhumanesociety.org ##1553556##

Story
I’m a 4‑year‑old, 24‑pound Frenchie with a big smile, a bigger heart, and just enough mischief to keep life interesting. I’m a jolly fellow through and through — the kind of guy who wakes up ready to play, snuggle, explore, and repeat. I adore playing with my foster brother, and I’m extra gentle with my blind and deaf sister and the senior foster. I just love being part of the pack. I’m cheerful, compliant, and extremely food motivated… which means I’m basically a dream to train. Snacks are my love language. I’m house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and even doggy‑door trained. I’ve got plenty of energy and enthusiasm, but I’m also super cuddly and gentle. If you let me, I’ll happily snooze right in your bed — that’s my favorite place to be. Now, full honesty: if I get bored, I will find my own entertainment. I’m not naughty, just… creatively curious. Give me toys, adventures, and a buddy to play with, and I’m golden. I love going on walks, riding in the car, and being part of whatever my humans are doing. I’d be happiest with an active family and a playful friend to romp around with. If you’re looking for a joyful, snuggly, food‑loving little guy who brings sunshine wherever he goes, I’m your Teddy. My adoption fee is $700. We are always looking for good foster homes. These homes allow us to rescue more Boston Terriers in need because we have a place for them to go until they are adopted. Please consider becoming a foster home for Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas. You can fill out a foster application at    Foster Application | Boston Terrier Rescue Of North Texas   . This will allow you to possibly become a foster home for one of our little Boston Terriers in need. Story
Bonjour! I’m Cossette — a 3‑yearâ€ֲ‑month‑old Frenchie weighing in at 27 pounds of pure charm, curiosity, and cuddles. I’m sweet, playful, smart as can be, and always ready to explore whatever catches my eye. I learned the doggy door in just a few hours (told you I was smart). I’m naturally inquisitive, so I like to check out everything — the house, the yard, the neighborhood… nothing escapes my little Frenchie investigation patrol. I love watching the world go by and sometimes I bark at people walking past, but if you tell me to stop, I listen right away. I like to know where my humans are, but I’m not clingy. I’m perfectly happy doing my own thing until it’s time for belly rubs — which I absolutely adore. I get along great with dogs and cats, and I’m house trained, doggy‑door trained, crate trained, and leash trained. Basically, I’m the full package. I love to play, but I tire out quickly and then I’m ready to snuggle up with my people. Walks and car rides make me so excited — there are just so many new smells to investigate! I also love laying outside in the yard, soaking up the fresh air and sunshine. And toys? Squeakers, soft toys, anything fun — I’m a fan. I’m a sweet, curious, easygoing girl who’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and lots of cuddles to my forever family. My adoption fee is $700. We are always looking for good foster homes. Story
Meet Meatloaf – A Rockstar Ready to Steal the Show Hi there, I'm Meatloaf-a 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix weighing 55 lbs, and I'm ready to take center stage in a forever home of my own. I was brought into the shelter as a stray on 03/13/26 and, sadly, no one came back for me. But that hasn't dimmed my spotlight-I'm still ready to perform, love big, and win over my audience. I'm a social, outgoing guy who loves meeting new people and showing off my larger-than-life personality. If you're looking for a dog with presence, charm, and a little bit of flair, I'm your guy. I've recently shown that I'm friendly with other dogs, too. That said, if you already have other four-legged superstars at home, a meet and greet is recommended to make sure we're artistically aligned before I join your band. I'm still settling into the shelter, so there's more to learn about me, but one thing is already clear-I'm full of potential and ready to shine with the right family. With a little guidance and a lot of love, I'll be your most loyal fan and your best duet partner. My adoption fee is $125. I'm neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccine and basic boosters, and I am heartworm positive. The good news is that thanks to Rockwall PAWS, my treatment is sponsored, so I'm already on my way to a healthy future. If you have any questions about my care, the team at RAC is happy to help. If you're ready to add a little star power to your life, I'm ready to meet you. Apply to adopt: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks.
