Story
Ginny is a sweet, spirited girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She has been diagnosed with IVDD, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying life to the fullest. Though she can be slow to trust at first, once she feels comfortable, she becomes an incredibly loyal and affectionate companion. Ginny enjoys her water therapy and regular massages, which help keep her happy and comfortable. Because of her IVDD, she is considered a special needs dog and will require ongoing therapy and medical care. She’s looking for a patient, loving adopter who understands her needs and will continue to give her the care—and the cuddles—she deserves. Story
Hi there! My name is Frankie, and I’m a fun-loving bundle of energy who’s ready to find my forever home. My family loves me very much, but due to a work relocation, they’re no longer able to keep me—so now I’m hoping to find a new family to love me just as much. I absolutely love playing with other dogs and have a friendly personality that gets along with just about everyone I meet. I do get excited and sometimes jump when I’m happy, so a home with older kids (or adults) might be the best fit for me. Right now, I wear a doggie diaper indoors because I’ve been known to mark around another male pup. My family believes that in a home where I’m the only male, this behavior may improve. I’m looking for a loving, committed home that can match my energy and give me the attention I deserve. Serious inquiries only—my family will be asking for references because they want to make sure I go to the very best home possible. ❤️

Story
Meet Humphrey — Your Future Couch Goblin and Car Ride Companion! “Hi, I’m Humphrey. I’m five years old, Frenchie fabulous, and I come with a beautiful brindle coat and a whole lot of character packed into my short, stocky frame.” Humphrey is a compact little tank of love who’s equal parts silly and sweet. He’s fully housebroken, crate trained, and knows how to be independent—but don’t be fooled, he loves being social and tagging along for all your daily adventures. Car ride? Don’t mind if he does. Toy time? Absolutely. Zoomies? You better believe it. But let’s be real—this little guy needs structure. “I play hard. Like, ‘I might accidentally body slam the toy box’ hard. Boundaries help me keep my cool, so I don’t turn into a tiny, brindle wrecking ball.” Humphrey has a big personality and doesn't always know how to be gentle. While he loves kids, we are not placing him in a home with young children due to the risk of accidental nipping during rough play. He’s also a little too good at packing on the pounds, which can make it tough for him to stay active and breathe comfortably. “Yeah, I can gain weight just looking at a treat. So let’s keep my snacks in check, okay?” A regulated diet and a reasonable amount of exercise will help keep Humphrey healthy and happy. Frenchies are known for being lovable clowns with medical quirks, and Humphrey is no exception. Because of their breed-specific health concerns, we require that adopters carry pet insurance to ensure he gets the care he may need down the road. If you’re looking for a loyal, hilarious, and slightly dramatic little shadow who thrives with structure and loves with his whole heart, Humphrey’s waiting to make your home 10x more fun (and 100% more adorable) ##2259464##

Story
Meet Pugsley Hey There, I'm Pugsley. I'm just a guy looking for that special love connection.  Are you my perfect match? At 4 years old, I am a fawn-colored, 24-pound French Bulldog/Chihuahua mix. My foster says I am an excellent companion dog. I am crate-trained and housetrained. I walk well on a leash, but I forget my manners if I see another dog on the walk and lunge when I see one. When I arrived at the rescue, I had some injuries possibly caused by rough encounters with other dogs or wildlife. Because of this, I can sometimes be aggressive when I see other dogs. Although I have had some tough times, I can be a great companion dog. My foster says, "He is always by my side when I'm home. He sleeps on the bed with me without trouble at all." I'm ready to live my best life. It would be best if there were no children under 10 in the home, and I would be best as an only dog. Walking with me can be challenging if we encounter another dog, so a house with a backyard is ideal. I would not be a good fit for a first-time dog owner. Still, I could thrive with an experienced handler who can help me develop my behavior, manners, and reactions with other dogs as I learn to feel safe and secure. When you get to know me, and I warm up to you, I can be a wonderful dog. I would love to show you that. If you are that special person, willing to give me a chance at my forever home, I can return that with loyalty and love. Let's meet and see if we can make the best team and live our best lives together. Learn more about our adoption process below and fill out an adoption application to take the first step in giving Pugsley the home he deserves! Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. APPLY HERE: www.richardsonhumanesociety.org ##1553556##

Story
The "Queen" is a 2 year old, 26 lb French Bulldog. She has beautiful and unique cream and gray brindle markings. Her previous person purchased her from a breeder but no longer has time to give her the care she deserves (and demands!), due to travel requirements. Queen has been great in her foster home. She is potty and crate trained. She is an energetic little dog that likes soft stuffed toys and taking walks. She is super friendly and always happy to meet other people. What she doesn't seem to like is other dogs. We think that may change since she was just spayed, but her ideal home would be as an only dog. This Queen doesn't need any subjects, just a person to give her all the love and attention. Please submit your application, and an adoption counselor will contact you,
