Our sweet sweet loving gentle amazing Sully girl. It is now time for your next chapter . Sully is approximately 10 months to one year-old. And weighs 18 pounds. She came to us after being hit by a car and was just running the streets. No chip not spayed, no tags, no owner. We believe she is a frenchton. French bulldog boston terrier mix. She has a wonderful demeanor and is just the sweetest girl. She is nervous meeting new dogs and people at first but that lasts all of 20 minutes and then she is everyones bff. She loves to play but is a gentle play partner. She loves to cuddle and give lots of kisses. She likes to be geld like a baby. She is usually quiet but gets really excited and barks at breakfast time or sometimes when you first get home, its just excited barking but she is not a big barker. She does not like to be crated at home but crates in the car well for
car rides. Sully has hydrocephalus. It does appear to be mild. If you google hydrocephalus dogs, it is going to tell you all these terrible things that, after rescuing hydro dogs for the last 15 years, exist in a small percentage. For the most part Sully acts like a regular dog, just a little special. She does not have any seizures, she gets up and down off the couch . She gets in and out the doggy door. She is a little slow at some things and has a mild depth perception impairment from the hydrocephalus, but she lives a regular happy life and does not appear to be in any pain and has not had any neurological symptoms that some Hydro dogs get.
Sully has also recently had an FHO . Because her hip was shattered from (presumably ) getting hit by a car.
Currently, she is not putting weight on her left rear leg but the hope is that she will do so in the next 6 to 8 weeks as her scar tissue heals. She will get better and better at using this leg over time but she gets around very well. Her sutures come out on the 20th and she will be ready to go. She needs a special family. Ideally a home with a fenced yard, if children are in the home that they be gentle and dog savvy. The perfect scenario would be a home that is experienced with special needs dogs , especially hydro dogs bc they need a little extra patience ,love and understanding. As well as a home that is willing to help her through her healing journey as her leg will not be fully fully healed for several weeks still up to 3 months before seeing true progress.
We all adore her. She is such a wonderful little girl with just a sweet sweet soul. We can’t wait for her to find her forever family.
