MEET FRANCO & BRIE, two adorable 1-year-old French Bulldog mixes in need of a forever home. These two are very bonded, and are likely brother and sister. They weigh about 30 lbs each. (Their paperwork may say shepherd mix but they both have Frenchie ears.) Both of them are timid/scared of new people, so they need adopters who can be patient and let them come out of their shells and bond to you. They are cute as a button and a wonderful size. Greetings drool enthusiasts! Did anyone order a mini corndog? Doesn't matter - I'm here anyway and ready to become your best friend for life. My name is Butters, and I'm looking for a forever family that can dote on me and treat me like the princess I am. I arrived at Animal Aid after being found wandering around outside without a person. Nobody claimed me, and it appeared that I had been used for breeding for quite some time. My mammary glads still look kind of funky, but my motherhood days are well beind me. I'm incredibly friendly with all people of all ages. I truly cannot get enough lap time and pets. I'd follow you around all day if I could, but I also don't mind being alone for moderate amounts of time. I'm even crate trained! I could still use a little help with potty training when I'm in a new environment, but I'm 75% there and will use pee pads if they're available to me. I would strongly prefer to be an only animal in my forever home. With a reeaallyy slow intro I could be ok with another chill dog, but cats are too tempting to chase, and I really want to be the center of attention. Nobody appreciates an assertive woman anymore! I prefer napping and burping over zooming and wrestling. Overall, I'm pretty low energy. It doesn't help that exercise makes it hard for me to breath. Yanno, Frenchie stuff. Speaking of that, my breed lends itself to more health issues than other breeds, so be prepared for some extra TLC when needed. I do enjoy leisurely walks and short bursts of play. I don't mind getting all my nooks and crannies cleaned out, and I'm very easy to take on car rides. Sometimes new environments are a little overwhelming, but I'm very resilient and adaptable. Big Bogg in the house! Have you ever dreamed of a little goblin in your home to keep you company and never leave your side? I might be able to fill that void. I came to Animal Aid via the Washington County shelter after I was found presumably dumped with another breeding dog. I was super underweight, very clumsy, and crusty as can be. I still need to gain some weight, but I'm now neutered and have freshly cleaned teeth. I'm very easy going and would be a great pal for someone who is low energy and likes the slow life. I've been living with cats sucessfully and can get along with most chill dogs. The energetic ones may find that I fall over too easily. I enjoy long naps, short walks, and gentle pets. Because of my breed, I need a person who is up for some continuous TLC like cleaning my folds and ears regularly. I also have arthritis in my lower back and hips that will need ongoing treatment. The ability to cool down in the summer is really important. I overheat and hyperventilate easily. Other than that, I'm up to date on vaccines and ready to find my forever home. Easy access to the outside would be great if possible. I'm used to using pee pads for potty breaks and may need some support to ease out of that habit and into outdoor potty breaks. My body doesn't always work how I want it to, so stairs are a little tricky. Please carry me or use an elevator if you have lots of stairs in your home! For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there!
