Story
Kissy Girl. Kissy is a french bulldog mix. She looks like she may have either a little pug in there . She is taller and a bit bigger than your average frenchie. Kissy is apx 6 years old and 27 pounds. She acts like a 2 year old. She is the best cuddler but also has a good amount of energy. She is VERY social, loves attention. She came into rescue in terrible condition. Skinny, scars all over her, and she had several C section scars but was not spayed 😡😡😤😤🤬🤬🤬 So she was just used for breeding for years. I think she is just starved for attention and affection. She is very forceful with her affection, which is how she got the name Kissy, she wants to put her face all in your face so if you are somebody that is a germophobe or does not enjoy doggy slobber on you this is not the girl for you. She also is a velcro dog. Walks great on leash, loves all people and children, is really a lover girl. She does not care much about the cats. Kissy is not dog aggressive but she is a bulldog And can have a dominant personality with other dogs. She takes a dominant position when meeting dogs but she does not just hail off and attack other dogs. She is just a bit of the “mom” dog and the alpha. She would do best as an only dog for the most part, however she does well at the rescue with the goofy young boy dogs . If she sees the dog as not threatening she is fine with them, but she certainly would not do well with another aloha dog, male or female. She has been with 4 other dogs here for play groups , all the dogs are young and small and just let her lead so they mind their manners and read her dog cues and they all get along fine , that being said we don’t kennel her unattended with any other dogs. She is a great dog in 101 ways , but she can be a bully with dogs. We walked by the cats several times and she could care less about them. She does not have a prey drive. She has also been around my little 3 pound two legged chihuahua in the car and she had no reaction to her. I think she has always been forced to be bred and probably lived with several other dogs and judging by all of the scarring on her neck and ears she has probably been attacked several times by other dogs so now she feels like she has to take dominant posturing with dog she feels threatened by. She is a sweet loving and wonderful girl with a big and joyful personality. Even the vets office was gushing about how great she was at her spay. She also had a dental cleaning and lost on tooth. We thought she either maybe had a mass or inguinal hernia, but they are not. They are just fat pads. The vet did actually open her up during spay and look at them and feel around. She does not have a hernia. She just carries her fat in her inguneal area. Give this gal a chance !! She is so grateful to be rescued and shows it daily. She is so amazing Currently fostered in Texas Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given.
