Story
WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.NAME: MJBREED: French Bulldog DOB: Jul 4, 2024 (1 year 9 months)GENDER: femaleHome Recommendation: MJ would thrive in a loving home that can match her playful puppy energy while also giving her plenty of affection and structure. She would do well with adopters who are ready to engage with her through playtime, walks, and continued socialization, while also enjoying her sweet, cuddly moments. Because she is friendly with new people and confident around everyday household noises, MJ could fit nicely into a variety of homes. Personality: MJ is a playful, affectionate, and social puppy with a naturally curious personality. She has a fun, silly side that shines during playtime, especially when shes enjoying her favorite rope toys, soft plushies, and chew toys. MJ loves being around people and greets new friends with friendliness and enthusiasm, making her a joy to have in any home.KIDS: YesDOGS: YesCATS: YesTraining: MJ is making great progress in her training and is building a strong foundation with a consistent routine. She sleeps well overnight in her pen and is continuing to learn that her crate or pen is a safe, calm place to rest. With structure and guidance, she is getting better at settling in for naps and learning how to relax independently. On walks, MJ is becoming more confident with her harness and leash each day. She remains calm and non-reactive to other dogs, people, and typical street noises, and is growing more comfortable exploring the outdoors. MJ is also working on her potty training and continues to improve, with fewer accidents as she learns her routine and designated potty area. With continued consistency and positive reinforcement, she will keep building on these great habits.WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Dogs like MJ were rejected for reasons ranging from birth defects, being born with the wrong color fur or eyes, or just simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.Visit WiseAnimalRescue.org to fill out an adoption application.Adoption areas include: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Vermont, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.
