Story
Hi, my name is Mable, I am from Alabama. From her foster: Mable is a shy girl initially, she takes some time to warm up to new people. Once she gets to know you she turns into absolute sweetheart! This girl does have a voice and she isn’t afraid to use it when she wants something. While not too fond of snuggling in your lap she does like to be close to the person she trusts. She is a very curious girl! She’s been good with dogs, cats and other small animals with proper slow introductions. Mable has been great with kids over 5 in my home. She is still working on refreshing potty training skills but doing well on a routine. Her favorite time is every time she sees the leash! Mable really enjoys her walks outside and investigating all the smells. She does know some basic commands but can be a bit stubborn to work for free, treats please! Mable might benefit from having another doggie friend in the home as she seems much more confident with a companion. A small relaxing space to heal and recover. Mable would do best in a home that can give her time and patience. A home with older or considerate children would be best as she seems to get nervous around loud, fast or sudden movements. She is on daily medications and will have some ongoing appointments for heart worm and a leg injury. From the vet team: I arrived at The Bond Between with a prior leg and tail injury. This was evaulated by an orthopedic surgeon and determined it was healing and I will need continued rest and a recheck x-ray at the end of my healing period. I also am being treated for heartworm disease and will need to be on monthly heartworm prevention for the rest of my life. I can be adopted while my leg heals and my heartworm treatment is being complete and the heartworm treatment and recheck x-rays will be covered by The Bond Between as long as they are completed at The BB Vet Center.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi, I’m Malaga! I’m a 6-year-old French Bulldog with a heart as big as my adorable squishy face. I weigh in at a solid 28 lbs of love and snuggles. I’m the kind of pup who’s all about those quiet moments—like laying by your feet, getting ear rubs, and enjoying all the attention (I’m a bit of a professional snuggler). But don’t let my calm demeanor fool you—I can still get a little spunky when it’s time to wrestle with my canine pals or tear apart a squeaky toy. (Squeakers are the best, don’t you think?) I’m a gentle soul who’s working on building trust with my humans. Once we’re BFFs (which I’m sure we will be), I’ll be your shadow, following you around and soaking up all your love. But, I’ll admit, it takes me a little time to warm up to new people, so I need a family that’s patient and understanding. The best part? Once I trust you, I’ll want to be by your side forever. I’m super friendly with other dogs—especially if they’re fellow Frenchies! But, honestly, I’m down to hang with any doggo. I’m a submissive gal, so I get along with all personalities, big or small. I even love cats! I just ignore them and mind my own business. Now, I do have a few preferences in my forever home: I’m not really a fan of kids or loud commotion. It stresses me out, but I promise I’m never aggressive—I’m just a little skittish. Older kids who are calm around me are okay, though! I love walks (so much) and am a pro at walking nicely on a leash. I even walk right next to the curb like a well-mannered lady! When I’m not out and about, you can find me napping in a comfy dog bed or chewing on a bone (seriously, bones are life). But my absolute favorite hobby? Ripping apart stuffed toys to get that squeaker out. It’s like a little treasure hunt for me, and I’m a very determined digger! I’m potty trained (I’ll give you a little look when I need to go out), and I prefer a nice fenced yard where I can wander around without fear of the big, scary world. I’m not the best on a leash outside of walks, and new things can make me anxious, so a secure yard is a must! If you’re looking for a sweet, mellow companion with a bit of a goofy side, I’m your girl. I just need a family who can give me the love, patience, and attention I deserve. And don’t worry—I’ll reward you with snuggles, squeaky toy destruction, and all the love in the world. Ready to meet me? I promise I’ll make your heart melt.   Sincerely, Malaga, the Squishy Snuggle Queen *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a    particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     Bulldogs are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs.     Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for bulldogs usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Bulldog Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Meet Scout! This adorable one-year-old Frenchie is on the lookout for his forever family! Despite being born with spina bifida, Scout doesn't let it slow him down. While he may need to wear a diaper and suspenders due to lack of control over his urine and bowls, his ability to stand up makes diapering a breeze. He is able to express his bladder and bowel himself and does not require and assistance in that realm - just changing his diaper. Frankly, not having to go outside in bad weather is a plus, and there is nothing to pickup in your backyard! Because of this, Scout cannot go 8+ hours a day without diaper changes, so he does require someone who works from home, or can stop home to help change his diapers to avoid infection and chaffing. Scout is full of personality, with plenty of opinions to share. He's a playful pup who never seems to tire out, often leaving his friends wondering how he keeps up the energy. When playtime winds down, Scout isn't one to rest for long; he'll grab a toy and entertain himself by tossing it around with gusto. Scout is eager to find a loving home where he can continue spreading joy and laughter with his playful antics. Due to his energetic ways, not all dogs appreciate his play He has doggie friends, who enjoy playing like him, but it is not preferred by all. Scout can't wait to start a basic obedience class with you to keep learning and to make up for lost socialization when he was a younger pup. Scout has not met any kids, but is ok with dog-savvy cats.  He is crate and leash trained, so does not require a fenced in yard.  Scout is looking for a special home, but we know it is out there Scout is an incredibly sweet boy who loves life and not all he needs is YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on him. Sure, he may be a bit higher maintenance than others, but his heart is enormous and it’s overflowing with love that he wants to share with an amazing family. If you will welcome him into your world, he promises you that not only will he show off his excited bouncy dance, but he will make you the center of his universe!!  Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there! I'm Elmer, but know the name Vinny. I'm a 9-year-old Frenchie, and I weigh around 33 pounds. Let me tell you a bit about myself. First and foremost, I absolutely adore my humans. I’m a cuddle bug who loves to follow my people around the house. I never let them out of my sight. If you're sitting in a chair or working in the office, I'll be right there, lying in my dog bed or on the floor next to your feet. And if you sit or lie on the couch, I’ll be up there with you, making sure I’m touching you. I don't jump, I climb up carefully. I have a few favorite things that make my tail wag. I love treats, especially when I get to go into my kennel. I also enjoy playing with balls, soft toys, squeaky toys, and bones. I love chasing basketballs. I think I can fit them in my mouth, and I will chase them as long as you let me! I’m potty trained on a routine and good if we stick to it. Speaking of outside, I don’t need a fenced yard because I walk nicely on a leash for my potty breaks and exercise. I can comfortably walk about a mile or less, making me a great companion for shorter walks. I know some cool commands too: Sit, Stay, Come, and Leave It. Also, I am great overnight in the kennel and don’t mind sleeping in sometimes. I have to admit, I can be a bit possessive of my humans around other dogs, so I’d do best as the only dog in the house. I promise to be all the companion you need. If you do have other pups, I'd do best with those that are low key like me. Barky, playful ones - not my jam.  It would be best if my forever home understand that I have the potential to resource guard my people so will need to be reminded that not everyone is mine.  I really like making them happy, so this shouldn't be a big issue if you keep helping me with my training. You might notice my cute little quirk—I’m missing some front teeth, so sometimes my lips stick to my gums, showing my teeth, and occasionally my tongue sticks out. It’s pretty adorable if I do say so myself! As an older gentleman, my kidneys are not as high functioning as they once were.  I was recently diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease.  As long as you take good care of me and feed me an appropriate diet to help my kidneys not work overly hard, there is no reason  I won’t continue to have a normal lifespan.  I also take meds for high blood pressure. when I went into the vet it was borderline, almost high, so we started meds just in case. I’m an easygoing and laid-back kind of guy. I’d be perfect for an elderly couple or someone who works from home because I LOVE being with my humans. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and low-maintenance friend, I’m your guy!   * Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi.  My name is Ronnie.  I am a laid back and sweet male Frenchie, really the most perfect gentleman if I do say so myself! I really love my people and want to be near them all the time - some would say I am a Velcro dog, but I would say that I am 25 pounds of love! I love to follow them everywhere - if the resident dogs get too close to my people, I push my way in – but not in a mean way.  After all I am a French gentleman.  I can sometimes get protective of the people I choose and guard them to keep them for myself.  A child free home would be best for me as that commotion gives me a bit of anxiety as I try too hard to control them.  I'd do best in a home as an only pup and have my forever person all to myself, so I do not need to have another dog living with me as long as my people are home quite a bit of the time. If you do have other pups, they'd be best if submissive because I am an alpha guy in the pecking order.  I have learned how to nap on dog beds and have been caught snuggling in together with the other pups! I love treats and have learned how much fun toys are. I walk great on a leash so I don’t need a fence in my forever home. I don't like that crate thing all that much and voice my discontent. Because of that, shared walls are not ideal because apparently neighbors don't appreciate things like that.  The humans here leave me out while they are gone and I just rest until they return.  I really do prefer to sleep on the sofa or find a warm spot in the sun.  My ideal home would be one where the humans are home during the day.  You see, I've been bounced around a lot in my life and what I really need is consistency and someone to not give up on me. The first few days/weeks when change happens, it makes me nervous that you are going to leave me forever and I show some separation anxiety. But, once we get that schedule down and you tell me you're my pack leader, then I will start to trust that you will never leave me. I'm a very loyal guy who sadly has not a lot of consistency in my life outside my foster home.  So, if you worked from home and were a bit of a home body, or could take me with you to work or on adventures, that would be just perfect! I am potty trained and know what "outside" means so that helps me know what is expected.  I also know "sit" and am working on "stay" - so I'm a smart guy! I also don’t mind car rides and would love to go to work with you if given the chance. I love to snuggle and sleep with foster mom at night.  Foster mom says I am a goofy boy who is still learning how to be a dog.  All I need is a loving forever home to help me become the best dog I can be. *Bulldogs are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise. In addition to normal pre adoption surgeries, Tyler also had surgery on his nares and soft palate to improve the quality of his breathing. This is reflected within his adoption fee. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Bring on my forever home!!  I’m ready. I hope you are too because that’s half the battle.  I mean, all I want is to be around others and feel comfortable in my surroundings.  I’m alert and quiet which is wonderful, don’t you think?  When I first came to Underdog, my bloodwork was a little perplexing to my vet team.  We did lots of tests and ruled out lots of things and the vets think that when I get stressed at the vet, it makes some numbers look wonky.  My coordinator will send you all those vet notes for you to look over, but my "normal" numbers just seem to be more unique.  I've had lots of trips to the vet and well, it's just not my favorite place. but who likes it anyways?! I have a vice.  It’s a puppy stuffed animal. Perhaps my forever home will have a toy box for me to find more favorite toys! There are kids in my foster home and we all get along great as long as they are full of crazy commotion.  I’d likely get used to it but for now, all that is new to me. I’m fully potty trained here (if I’m honest, I could have an accident in my forever home until I figure out the lay of the land) but once I do, I’m golden.  I prefer a fenced yard for me to meander around in and do the zoomies in.  I've made great progress with leash training, but still a work in progress. If you don't have a fence, we will need to keep working on that! But the crate thing, I’m good with.  I’m just a big ol’ sweetheart who loves cuddling and relaxing on the sofa, a random roaming in the back yard and making sure the kids are behaving.  What else could you possibly need?! I’m waiting… ready to give you all the love I have! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. In addition to normal pre adoption surgeries, Naomi also had surgery on her nares and soft palate to improve the quality of her breathing. This is reflected within her adoption fee. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love.
