Story
Ollie is a half English half French bulldog that is almost 7 years old. He is very sweet and loves to be with people. He would be best without other animals, as he has a lot of energy around them. He can be aggressive around people he does not know and is protective of his owners. He would benefit from a fenced in yard with a higher fence, as he tries to get over the fence. He would also be best without little kids, as he has a lot of energy around them too. He would do best in a home with fewer people and someone who is home with him for most of the day.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Lucy is approx 6.5 yrs old and 28#. As you can see, she's a beautiful brindle. She's as sweet as she is cute. It sounds like all 6 of her years were spent having litter after litter of puppies and all she wants is a pack of her own! She is not potty trained. I guess 6 years of "going" wherever is convenient is a hard habit to break. I know if she had a fenced yard, she'd catch on quick. I should mention she has not mastered stairs. One or two steps is fine, but she's not very sure of herself going up or down.   If you're looking for a beautiful Frenchie girl who wants to be a lap dog, you've come to the right profile! Lucy loves attention, but she will also go and lay down by herself or keep herself company by looking at her reflection.    She loves every dog and every human. When she gets amped up there's nothing more joyful than watching her play! Even when her foster brother nipped at her the first week, she still wanted him to be her friend. He finally caved after a week or so :).    She's not great on a leash. She will stop right at the threshold of a door deciding if and when she wants to move. Lol. But once outside, what fun! She loves to run and romp!   Lucy would do well in any active, loving home. Another fur friend would be perfect for her but a human with a heart and a lap will do just fine.    Just say I Love Lucy and send in an application and I'll work with your schedule to meet up. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination. Ife is stubborn but her cute butt makes up for it. She loves playing with her brother and loves cuddles. She does have some food guarding issues and has a small excess skin growth on her eye but does not need any special care. Ife and Leroy need a home that can provide them with adequate mental and physical stimulation. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Meet Scout! This adorable one-year-old Frenchie is on the lookout for his forever family! Despite being born with spina bifida, Scout doesn't let it slow him down. While he may need to wear a diaper and suspenders due to lack of control over his urine and bowls, his ability to stand up makes diapering a breeze. He is able to express his bladder and bowel himself and does not require and assistance in that realm - just changing his diaper. Frankly, not having to go outside in bad weather is a plus, and there is nothing to pickup in your backyard! Because of this, Scout cannot go 8+ hours a day without diaper changes, so he does require someone who works from home, or can stop home to help change his diapers to avoid infection and chaffing. Scout is full of personality, with plenty of opinions to share. He's a playful pup who never seems to tire out, often leaving his friends wondering how he keeps up the energy. When playtime winds down, Scout isn't one to rest for long; he'll grab a toy and entertain himself by tossing it around with gusto. Scout is eager to find a loving home where he can continue spreading joy and laughter with his playful antics. Due to his energetic ways, not all dogs appreciate his play He has doggie friends, who enjoy playing like him, but it is not preferred by all. Scout can't wait to start a basic obedience class with you to keep learning and to make up for lost socialization when he was a younger pup. Scout has not met any kids, but is ok with dog-savvy cats.  He is crate and leash trained, so does not require a fenced in yard.  Scout is looking for a special home, but we know it is out there Scout is an incredibly sweet boy who loves life and not all he needs is YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on him. Sure, he may be a bit higher maintenance than others, but his heart is enormous and it’s overflowing with love that he wants to share with an amazing family. If you will welcome him into your world, he promises you that not only will he show off his excited bouncy dance, but he will make you the center of his universe!!  Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  Bulldogs are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs.  Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for bulldogs usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there! I'm Elmer, but know the name Vinny. I'm a 9-year-old Frenchie, and I weigh around 33 pounds. Let me tell you a bit about myself. First and foremost, I absolutely adore my humans. I’m a cuddle bug who loves to follow my people around the house. I never let them out of my sight. If you're sitting in a chair or working in the office, I'll be right there, lying in my dog bed or on the floor next to your feet. And if you sit or lie on the couch, I’ll be up there with you, making sure I’m touching you. I don't jump, I climb up carefully. I have a few favorite things that make my tail wag. I love treats, especially when I get to go into my kennel. I also enjoy playing with balls, soft toys, squeaky toys, and bones. I love chasing basketballs. I think I can fit them in my mouth, and I will chase them as long as you let me! I’m potty trained on a routine and good if we stick to it. Speaking of outside, I don’t need a fenced yard because I walk nicely on a leash for my potty breaks and exercise. I can comfortably walk about a mile or less, making me a great companion for shorter walks. I know some cool commands too: Sit, Stay, Come, and Leave It. Also, I am great overnight in the kennel and don’t mind sleeping in sometimes. I have to admit, I can be a bit possessive of my humans around other dogs, so I’d do best as the only dog in the house. I promise to be all the companion you need. If you do have other pups, I'd do best with those that are low key like me. Barky, playful ones - not my jam.  It would be best if my forever home understand that I have the potential to resource guard my people so will need to be reminded that not everyone is mine.  I really like making them happy, so this shouldn't be a big issue if you keep helping me with my training. You might notice my cute little quirk—I’m missing some front teeth, so sometimes my lips stick to my gums, showing my teeth, and occasionally my tongue sticks out. It’s pretty adorable if I do say so myself! As an older gentleman, my kidneys are not as high functioning as they once were.  I was recently diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease.  As long as you take good care of me and feed me an appropriate diet to help my kidneys not work overly hard, there is no reason  I won’t continue to have a normal lifespan.  I also take meds for high blood pressure. when I went into the vet it was borderline, almost high, so we started meds just in case. I’m an easygoing and laid-back kind of guy. I’d be perfect for an elderly couple or someone who works from home because I LOVE being with my humans. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and low-maintenance friend, I’m your guy!   * Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.
