Barney is an affectionate, sweet boy. Probably not a year old and loves to play. He has that wonderful hound voice but he's not obsessive with it. He does well with other dogs, he's not familiar with cats but plays to hard with chickens. He's very smart and has learned a few basic commands. He would be a loyal companion for a little love. Story
This handsome boy is Bandit. He is 4-years-old and weighs 60 lb. We think he is a foxhound mix. Bandit is a very sweet dog who loves any kind of attention. His goofy ears are sure to catch anybody's attention. Bandit loves to put his paws up on your lap so that he can give your face kisses. He's a big dog that does not quite know his size but he's food motivated and ready to learn. Bandit is a people's dog and immediately loves anybody he meets. He would like to be in a home where he isn't alone for long hours. Although Bandit is an active boy who does like to play, he's just happy to be doing anything as long as it's with people. He gets along well with other dogs but does appear to seek out people's attention more. Bandit might be best in an adult-only home due to his size, lack of body awareness and the fact that he can be grabby when taking treats. Dog savvy teens could possibly be a good fit as well. He would do best with a physically capable handler, who can work with him so he can learn to not pull on the leash when he walks. An Easy Walk or front lead harness would help this issue. We don't know what Bandit thinks of cats, but can "cat-test" him if needed. Bandit is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and healthy. His adoption fee is $395. If you would like to meet/adopt Bandit, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-forms. Email daws@daws.org if you need assistance or have any questions.

Story
Meet Scarlett, a three-year-old American Foxhound with a heart full of love and a gentle spirit. Weighing in at just 43 pounds, this sweet girl has recently found herself at the shelter under heartbreaking circumstances. Her previous owner, needing just a minor shoulder surgery, decided to surrender Scarlett, leaving her feeling abandoned and uncertain. Scarlett is a shy and sensitive girl who has been taking her transition hard. It's clear she has experienced the sting of being discarded, not to mention also losing her furry siblings, and she's been understandably reserved since arriving. Despite her past, Scarlett remains a truly loving and affectionate dog, yearning for the security and warmth of a true furever home. This beautiful Foxhound has shown a preference for companionship over play. She hasn’t quite warmed up to toys or activities, but she does find solace and joy in the company of other dogs. For Scarlett to thrive, it’s essential that her new home includes another pup. Her ideal match would be a more relaxed canine friend who can help her regain her confidence and sense of safety. Scarlett’s favorite pastimes include leisurely strolls and cozying up on the couch for some snuggles. She walks perfectly on leash and is also housetrained. Scarlett is a laid-back girl who would flourish in a serene and nurturing environment. If you have a quiet home and the heart to offer Scarlett the love and patience she deserves, she will reward you with her unwavering loyalty and affection. Her adoption fee is $400 and Scarlett is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed.
