Story
This beautiful guy is COLBY and he's a social butterfly! He's a 2-3 year old very sweet American Foxhound (we think pure-breed) and he's fully grown at 46 pounds. He has great social skills and loves every single person and dog he meets. He's super smart, sweet, energetic and a happy guy. He'd be a great addition to a family who wants a fun dog to be part of their family. He could live as a solo pup but he'd love a doggie sibling too. He also has a very skilled nose so he'll find any treats you leave in the cushions. :) Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com) to get more info and pics on this happy-go-lucky guy!

Story
Watson is all personality! He is such a sweet guy and a little bit goofy but doesn't have a mean bone is his body. He's approximately 3 years old and weighs 67 pounds although he could stand to use a few more pounds. He's dog friendly and kid friendly too although we'd recommend that he'd be best with children who are 7+ years because he's a bigger guy and doesn't always realize it. He's living with a great foster family with children and they share that "he's a really good boy. He loves getting attention and love and getting all the pets he can. He's a silly guy - he likes a good bone and to hide it on himself and then go find it.:). He's learning his sit, stay and down commands too!" Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com) to get more info on sweet Watson!

Story
This handsome boy is Bandit. He is 4-years-old and weighs 60 lb. We think he is a foxhound mix. Bandit is a very sweet dog who loves any kind of attention. His goofy ears are sure to catch anybody's attention. Bandit loves to put his paws up on your lap so that he can give your face kisses. He's a big dog that does not quite know his size but he's food motivated and ready to learn. He has already learned so much during his time at DAWS. Bandit is a people's dog and immediately loves anybody he meets. He would like to be in a home where he isn't alone for long hours. Although Bandit is an active boy who does like to play, he's just happy to be doing anything as long as it's with people. He likes meeting other dogs and playing with them, but he may be jealous of another dog in the home. Bandit would do best with teens and up. He loves car rides and outdoor adventures. Bandit is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and healthy. His adoption fee is $395. If you would like to meet/adopt Bandit, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-forms. Email daws@daws.org if you need assistance or have any questions. Here is a video to enjoy of Bandit: https://youtu.be/E-tTI5bZfl0?si=Y5ur-5q0nj0Inc0C

Story
Meet Scarlett, a three-year-old American Foxhound with a heart full of love and a gentle spirit. Weighing in at just 43 pounds, this sweet girl has recently found herself at the shelter under heartbreaking circumstances. Her previous owner, needing just a minor shoulder surgery, decided to surrender Scarlett, leaving her feeling abandoned and uncertain. She was then adopted but returned to us after a month due to her fearful behavior. She truly needs someone patient and understanding that her world has been shattered. Scarlett is a shy and sensitive girl who has been taking her transition hard. It's clear she has experienced the sting of being discarded, not to mention also losing her furry siblings, and she's been understandably reserved since arriving. Despite her past, Scarlett remains a truly loving and affectionate dog, yearning for the security and warmth of a true furever home. This beautiful Foxhound has shown a preference for companionship over play. Scarlett hasn’t quite warmed up to toys or activities, but she does find solace being in your company and prefers woman over men. She seems to like kids as long as they're calm and is ok with older dogs as long as they don't bother her. Please remember, Scarlett is very fearful so she needs someone who can help her regain her confidence and a sense of safety. Scarlett’s favorite pastimes include leisurely strolls and cozying up on the couch for some snuggles. She walks perfectly on leash and is also housetrained. Scarlett is a laid-back girl who would flourish in a serene and nurturing environment. If you have a quiet home and the heart to offer Scarlett the love and patience she deserves, she will reward you with her unwavering loyalty and affection. Her adoption fee is $400 and Scarlett is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. If you are interested in this gorgeous girl, please complete the application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Story
adoption donation : $699 weight 45 lbs  Age: 8 months as of 1/15        The Rosie puppies—Rosie, Roseann and Rosemary— are adorable, friendly and sweet puppies who were left at the end of the Wags driveway in a cardboard box along with a mama cat and her kittens. Sadly in Mississippi this is all too common.       But despite their sad beginning  the Rosies thrived at Wags, playing with all the dogs and snuggling together for puppy power naps!     The Rosies just arrived in their foster home in the northeast on Saturday, January 25 and are settling in well.Rosemary is the lightest in color of the three girls. She is just the sweetest! She’s very mellow and just loves cuddles. She gets along great with other dogs and is gentle with children.Rosemary just experienced her first snowfall and had a blast romping in the snow!    Rosemary is a happy, healthy girl, she’s up-to-date on her vaccine and has been spayed. She will make a wonderful family dog.    Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. For more information on adopting any of the Rosies please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com    January 26, 2025, 4:54 pm
