Meet Julie
Julie is available to come on our next transport with Habersham County Animal Shelter on Saturday, 1/17, but she needs a foster or adopter to secure her spot. Without a committed foster or adopter, she will not be able to make the trip.
Julie’s story is one of quiet resilience and heart. This sweet 2–3-year-old “Georgia Brown Dog” came into the shelter as a stray, and while no one has come looking for her, it’s clear she was once loved and well cared for. She may not have a fancy breed label, but her personality is anything but ordinary.
Julie is a friendly, affectionate girl who truly loves people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She greets everyone like an old friend and settles in easily wherever she goes. Julie already knows basic commands like sit and shake, showing just how eager she is to connect and please. Her adorable curly tail seems to wag nonstop, especially when she’s getting attention.
At 36 pounds, Julie is a perfect medium size and would fit beautifully into almost any home. She has an easygoing, adaptable nature and would be just as happy in an active household as she would in a more laid-back one. Julie is the kind of dog who feels like she’s always belonged with you.

Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up to date dewormer, vaccinations, and heartworm prevention (age appropriate).

ADOPTION PROCESS:
1.) Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.
2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.
3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure its the right fit.
4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.
5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.
6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $150 once we receive proof of the procedure. We recommend spay/neuter around 6 months old.
**Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
