Story
Let me introduce you to Magnolia, a 1.5-year-old, 40-pound beauty. Whoever she chooses to be her new family is getting a great dog, and let me tell you why. She inherently has traits that you cannot train.
She doesn't meet a stranger and wants to visit with everyone. She loves kids, gets along well with other dogs, and doesn't take issue with cats. She constantly tries to give everyone kisses. She does not display any food/toy/bone aggression with people or animals and doesn't guard her things.
When it is time for work, she willingly goes into her crate and waits for a treat. Sometimes she goes in just because she's tired, as the door is always open when someone is home.
In her foster home, she has access to a doggie door when the fosters are home, and Magnolia has had no accidents in the house.
She has an exuberance for life and lives it to the fullest. This girl is up for anything - playing in the backyard, taking a ride, going for a walk, chewing on a bone, and even taking an occasional nap. These are qualities most people want in a pet, and she has them ALL!
Her favorite thing of all is to be outside, day or night. She loves to sit and watch the squirrels run in the trees and just hang out.
Magnolia would love to have an adopter willing to help her with a little obedience training. She had NO training before coming to our rescue, we are guessing she was outside 24/7 with no structure, so some basic training would do her good and create a bond with her new family.
Because she loves everyone, sometimes she intrudes on personal space. She likes to haul all her bones and toys out to the yard with her, but we haven't been able to teach her to bring them back in...LOL. Magnolia is very food-motivated, so training should involve treats for sure. She currently knows how to sit, stay, wait, back, ok, kennel, in the house, no, and potty outside.
She likes carrots, green beans, chicken, apples, rice and any other treat she is given. Magnolia can jump over small gates, so a 5-foot or higher fence will be needed in her yard; her friendliness sometimes makes her want to hang out with the neighbors.
