Story
Let me introduce you to Lilly Tayda, this girl can best be described as the quiet person at the party that is actually going to be the best connection and share the best conversation with. The role of “life of the party” isn’t what she is auditioning for, there is only so much room for those. She would best be suited for the role of, warm-hearted shy one. Sure, initially she may come off shy but as you get to know her you realize, she likes to get to know the people she spends time with, and for her, knowing is loving. This is a companion dog, content at your side and appreciative of everything, especially the small stuff like snuggles and treats. In rescue breed and age are offered as educated guesses given we do not know a dogs history but we believe Lilly Tayda is about 2 years old and is possibly a Pittie/Black Mouth Cur mix and she weighs 53 lbs. The perfect size for hopping in the car and being able to see out of the window with no trouble at all. Lilly is a perfect putzing-around gal, whatever way you spend your time, she will be happy to be there. She isn’t going to demand attention but she will quietly check-in for some affection, follow along occasionally, before finding a cozy spot nearby to lay down. She responds positively to a connection and comforting presence without needing constant reinforcement or praise. Basically, Lilly will be happy to keep you company without getting in the way. Lilly Tayda currently lives with other dogs in her foster home, a small spicy Chihuahua and a similar sized dog to her. In addition the dogs, she also lives with a cat who she has been mostly avoidant of. Lilly doesn’t need dogs to feel happy so she is a great candidate for only-dog life if that is what you are looking for. When we introduced her to new dogs, she was happy to spend time with them but didn’t make much of a connection or show a playful side. Even though she didn’t play with any of the dogs she was introduced to, we think with time and the right connection she could show you and her new friend, a more playful side. Lilly Tayda’s dream home? That is more about who is there, than what. Sure a yard is great for soaking up the sun, but what she really wants is someone who can understand that love takes a little time and is happy to give her that time. What’s on the other side is sweet, loving, loyal and attentive girl in search of love and snuggles. So worth it! She has a quiet nature, with her foster sharing that she is both house and crate-trained, along with quiet in her crate. No whining or barking here, she enjoys her crate so its nothing to worry about. Wherever she calls home she is going to show you the depth of rescue-dog love. It feels amazing to be on the receiving end of something so true and moving. Ready to welcome Lilly Tayda nto your life? Email michelleboswell@threelittlepittiesrescue.org We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $825 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Thank you for your interest in one of our amazing dogs, please how our meet and greets work. We are by appointment only, all our meet and greets are outside on the same property as the shelter, under our covered, fenced area, so we must schedule appointments. If a dog is on our website, it is available for adoption. We do not schedule multiple meetings with different people for the dog on the same day. We do meet and greets Tuesday-Saturday, no night meets. We have questions at the bottom of each dog’s bio, by answering the questions in your inquiry, you help move things along, it is okay if you do not, we will send an e-mail back to you with those questions. It does not matter if you are a homeowner or renter, but please check with your rental company for breed and weight restrictions. If this will be an ESA dog, get approval from your rental company first. Our dogs are listed on Petfinder (purchased by Purina), Adopt-a-pet and rescueme.org or you can e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org with questions about the dog, please be sure to say who you are asking about. Lastly, we do review all applicants, so if you are looking to get a dog today or in the next 24 hours, we may not be the right place, by taking a little more time and reviewing we have decreased our yearly dog returns to 1%. We get back to everyone as quickly as possible, sending multiple inquires or calling multiple times, will not change the process, if you don’t get a reply e-mail within 72hrs, check your spam and junk folder, if there is nothing please e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org. *Bonded pair, Millie and Spud, must be adopted together** Millie (spayed) and Spud (neutered) are 6mth old, Dutch Shepard, Boxer, Pit mixes. They came from a animal hoarding property, their sister Chili was more than ready for a home alone, these two have shown after being separated that they do best together. They are gentle, sweet, shy, learning to be social with humans, not a mean bone in their body. They need a home that will offer patience, love and allow them space. They need a fenced backyard, with gentle adults, young children are a little scary for them. They love other dogs, they have been learning a lot from our social dogs. My adoption fee is $300 (each), includes: Spay/Neuter, vaccines, dewormer, Heartworm/Tick testing, microchip, flea treatment and a 1lb bag of puppy food. 1. Do you own or rent? If you rent you will need authorization from your rental company prior to meeting our puppies. 2. Do you have a private fenced yard? 3. How many people and age groups live in your home? 4. How many animals, types and what they are like! 6. Do you have time to continue basic training? 7. Please tell us more about how they would spend their days and what activities you would plan! 8. Have you ever owned a shy dog before? If so, please tell us about it.
