Story
Hi, I'm Athena! Like the goddess, I'm an incredibly intelligent pup! I know all kinds of cool commands like "sit and "down. I love to explore the world around me, and it would be even better if I had a best friend by my side. I have lots of energy, and sometimes struggle to express it in the right way. I learn best from strong corrections and would thrive with an owner who is eager to further my training so I can be my best self. I can't wait to find my forever home, preferably one with lots of space to run around and tons of toys that I can play with! If you're looking for a smart, silly dog as a companion, I'm your girl. Come say hi to me!

Story
A Golden Girl who loves runs and snuggles! Meet Betty White! Betty White is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the Adopting for Path of Hope Rescue Section). Betty White has been available for months, and potential adopters often have concerns about adult rescue dogs having behavior issues or being poorly socialized. Some dogs just get overlooked and the longer a dog is available, the more people start wondering, “what is wrong with this dog?” We understand this is a concern, and that is why we assign every applicant their own personal Matchmaker to ensure this dog is right for your family. We also believe that “Fur-st Impressions” are very important, so we encourage you to schedule a meet and greet with Betty White before applying to see if she is the perfect fit for your family by emailing us at Fur-stImpressions@pathofhoperescue.com.  A completed Adoption Application will be required after the meet and greet to move forward with Betty White’s adoption. Betty White is not a puppy; born in November 2021, this girl is potty and crated trained and has successfully outgrown the puppy adolescent stage. She’s the dog for someone who wants the cuddly companionship of a puppy without the stress of house training and chewed-up shoes and furniture. A svelte and compact 45 lbs., Betty White is a free spirit who loves exploring and testing her limits. According to a DNA test, Betty White is 46% American Pit Bull Terrier and 25% German Shepherd Dog so being active and wanting to move is in her genes. Sniff spot outings and agility jumps are a favorite activity for her – and if she has a buddy dog to join her in the adventures, all the better! Naturally eager to learn, Betty White has excelled at obedience training. She plays nicely with her foster dog siblings and gets along great with children (she will chase, so a cat free home would be best for her).  She’s a happy, playful dog who loves her human companions with the same gusto she exhibits for activity. But Betty White isn’t all go, all the time. She is a cuddler and snuggle bug, too. Betty White’s loving and charming personality have made her a foster favorite. Funny, friendly, and affectionate, she warms you up with snuggles and kisses. And all this without having to worry about your favorite shoes getting torn up! Betty White’s ideal home? This delightful girl seeks a home with people to love who will love her in return, take her for active outings, and give her lots of snuggles. She will be the perfect workout partner who is happy to binge watch with you afterwards. Betty White has been waiting for that just right someone; maybe it is you! Contact us today to set up your meet and greet with Betty White! What is Path of Hope’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!). Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process. Meet your potential pup at the home of the foster family. (The process may differ slightly for long distance adopters.) Bring your potential pup home for a no commitment In Home Trial. In Home Trials are a minimum of (2) nights for a puppy and one week for an adult. Your Matchmaker will check in with you during this time. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member! Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process. Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs one year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course. Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250.  Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.   About Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events. Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process. ##1395537##

Story
Name: Harris Age: 2 years Breed: German Shepherd Health Status: Heartworm positive (treatment provided) About Harris: Harris is a charming 2-year-old German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a gentle spirit that will capture your heart. He was found camping out at an abandoned hospital alongside his lady friend and 40 other dogs, showing incredible resilience despite the challenges he faced. Now, he’s ready to embark on a new adventure with a loving family. Though heartworm positive, Harris’ joyful personality shines through. His friendly demeanor makes him the perfect companion for families, individuals, or anyone looking to add a loyal friend to their life. Heartworms are alarmingly common in stray dogs in the Houston area, primarily due to the region’s warm and humid climate, which creates ideal conditions for mosquitoes—the primary carriers of the heartworm parasite. Heartworm treatment will be provided for him and his new family.  When you choose to adopt a heartworm positive dog, you're not just giving them a second chance at life—you're also embracing the opportunity to make a profound difference in their journey to recovery. Heartworm positive dogs are often overlooked, but they are just as loving, loyal, and deserving of a forever home as any other pup. By adopting one, you’ll experience the joy of watching them blossom into a healthy, happy companion. Your love and care can help them overcome this challenge, and in return, they will shower you with unconditional affection and gratitude for the rest of their lives.  Personality: Harris is the definition of easy-going. He’s incredibly friendly and gets along wonderfully with people and other pets alike. His gentle nature makes him great with kids, and he thrives on human companionship. His intelligence shines through in his training – he’s already crate-trained and walks beautifully on a leash. Whether you’re taking a stroll in the park or snuggling on the couch, Harris is up for the task! Why Harris Needs You: Harris is looking for a loving home where he can continue to thrive. He’s ready to bring joy, companionship, and a sense of peace to your household. With your support, he can overcome his heartworm status and live a long, healthy life by your side. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal friend who has already shown so much courage, Harris is waiting for you!  To add Harris to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information. He is wagging his tail and wiggling his butt at just the thought of finding his forever home and his story is just beginning! His next chapter could be with you! Our adoption fee includes transport, all age required shots, microchip, & a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. We look forward to receiving your application! We will review it shortly and give you a call to set up a phone interview.  We are thrilled to offer transport services every 3 weeks from Houston to the Pacific Northwest and the East Coast, ensuring that these incredible pets can find their way to you no matter where you are. This makes the adoption process smooth and convenient, allowing you to focus on welcoming your new family member with open arms. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping. ##2192965##
