Story
Moet is a 4-year-old Dutch Shepherd mix with a thoughtful, observant nature and a heart that’s still learning to trust the world. At 64 pounds, she does well with other dogs and may feel most comfortable alongside a confident canine companion to help guide her. Moet is still building confidence with leash walking, and it’s unclear whether this is due to shelter stress or limited prior experience. Because of this, she may do best in a calm, quiet home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely decompress and enjoy outdoor time without pressure. With patience, consistency, and a gentle approach, Moet has the potential to blossom into a deeply loyal companion—she just needs a little time to find her footing.

Story
Leggs is a resilient 32 pound, 8 month old pup working hard to become part of the world around him. While he’s naturally timid because he was feral the first three months of his life, he’s been bravely approaching new challenges and turned into the most amazing dog at home. Leggs is very intelligent and sensitive. He’s a bit cuddler and loves wrapping himself up in a blanket and hunkering down with his soft toys. He’s fantastic on a leash and incredibly gentle with myself, my children, and other dogs (including my super senior). He tries to play with cats, but also respects their space. He is crate trained, goes to the door when he needs to go potty, leash trained, and doing well on basic obedience and threshold training. He’s done well on trips to the park, long-leash walking on nature trails, and trips to pet-friendly stores such as Petco. His perfect home would be one that understands his initial need to decompress. After that, you can expect the most loyal and intuitive companion. Leggs is being fostered in Texas but can be transported out of state. You can apply directly for Leggs by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-835 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).

Story
Scooby is a sweet and smart boy who's ready to find his forever home! This handsome guy is a total lap lover and will happily curl up with you for some quality cuddle time after a nice walk on the trails — one of his favorite things to do! Scooby walks beautifully on leash, shows signs of being housebroken, and keeps his kennel clean and tidy. He’s a treat-motivated pup who lights up when you bring out rope toys and stuffies — playtime is serious business for this fun-loving boy! While Scooby prefers not to share his space with other dogs, he’s more than happy to give his whole heart to his people. He’ll do best as the only pet in a home where he can soak up all the love and attention. If you're looking for a loyal companion who’s equal parts adventure buddy and snuggle bug, Scooby might just be your perfect match. Scooby’s waiting to steal your heart — one walk, one toy, one cuddle at a time. 🧸🐾

Story
Meet Magnolia! At 1 year old, Magnolia is a soft, fragile spirit who is having a hard time in the shelter environment. This medium-sized girl spends much of her time trembling in her kennel, overwhelmed by all the unfamiliar sights and sounds around her. She’s still learning how to feel safe, but there are small signs of hope—she’s shown a little interest in treats, a tiny step toward building trust. Magnolia will need a very calm, quiet home and an incredibly patient adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to decompress and begin to heal.A confident, gentle dog in the home would likely help her feel more secure and give her a reassuring example to follow. Magnolia isn’t ready for a busy life, but with compassion and understanding, she has the potential to slowly come out of her shell and form a deep, meaningful bond.Right now, she just needs someone willing to see the dog she can become.

Story
Meet Mesa!Mesa is a quiet soul learning the world isn’t as scary as it once seemed. At just one year old, this medium-sized boy is beginning to bloom after coming from a rural hoarding situation where life was small and unfamiliar. New experiences can still feel overwhelming, but Mesa is making gentle, steady progress every day. He’s looking for a patient, understanding home that will let him move at his own pace. A calm, predictable environment will help him feel safe, and a confident canine companion could be just the guide he needs to keep building courage.Mesa may not be the dog who runs up to greet you right away—but for someone willing to give him time, he has the potential to become something truly special: a quiet, loyal companion who chose to trust.
