Story
Karina is a 7 month old, 45lb Dutch Shepherd/Plott Hound mix who loves playing, cuddling, and anything water related! We pulled this sweet girl from the at risk list at our local high kill shelter after she was picked up as a stray by animal control. This cutie had been at the shelter for 20+ days with no sign of being rescued anytime soon, so we decided to bring her into our rescue! While Karina's history prior to going to the shelter is unknown, we do know that she is one of the friendliest pups out there! Most dogs/puppies are terrified for the first little while after getting out of the shelter environment, but little miss Karina got right in the car and immediately started giving us kisses! She rides very well in the car and is very intrigued by the passing people and cars! Karina is a very spunky, adventurous puppy and as previously mentioned, she is obsessed with anything water related! She doesn't have access to any lakes, rivers, or streams here so she makes due with the outside water bowl. She likes to dunk her whole face in the bowl, start digging until it's basically empty, then start all over again once us gullible humans refill it. Being the water-dog she is, we think Karina would love to go to a home with a pool or natural body of water nearby! Karina is mostly potty trained, crate trained, good on a leash, good with dogs and kids, and has a sweet temperament. She is a smart little cookie who will do so well with the right person! She does not require another canine in the home in order to live her happiest life, but she would love to have an older sibling to take direction from! Karina is currently about 45lbs and is not expected to grow over 60lbs. Karina is located in Houston TX but can be transported to most US states for adoption.

Story
Molly is a laid back, sweet shepherd mix looking for her forever home. She demonstrates most shepherd traits, and bonds most often to the female of the home. She adores children and is very affectionate with them, but can be nervous initially with some men and new situations. (She will hide/avoid until comfortable) She doesn’t mind other dogs as long as they do not try to be dominant around her, but would be perfectly happy in a only dog home as well. She is not super playful with other dogs (does occasionally play with some, usually 2-5 year old males) but is well socialized. Because of her size and herding tendencies on fence boundaries, we do not recommend she live with small dogs. She walks beautifully on leash, and is obedient. She does have some slight separation anxiety and will be vocal in a new home until she settles into routine, but once settled she is calm, quiet and crates without issue. She is non destructive in the house and prefers simply to be near her person/people.

Story
I was left in front of an abandoned store to fend for myself. My luck changed, however, when some kind humans got me to safety. I am a young and active guy. I would love a doggie friend or even a jogger to take me out. I do know a few commands, am in excellent health, and can't wait to find my forever family. I have not met cats yet.

Story
Hello, handsome! This big boy came to us as a stray and is approximately 2 years old. He has so much love to give, it’s ridiculous! Why he was abandoned is anyone’s guess, but we’re happy to help him find his forever home. Always ready with a smile (and a body hug if you’re not careful), Starsky is a lover of all humans he meets. He is also wonderful with large breed dogs but has not been tested with small breeds. He is not good with cats and cannot go into a home with indoor or outdoor felines. Given his mixed breed, Starsky both bonds quickly (the Shepherd in him) and is an escape artist (the Husky). Leaving him unattended in a yard is not advisable, as he will get bored and climb or dig his way out of it. This boy wants to be a part of the family, not left alone. With loads of attention and exercise, he won’t get bored. Starsky travels very well in the car - always ready for an adventure! He is good on leash but requires reminders against his tugging tendencies. He loves belly rubs and would be a lap dog if you let him. He is crate trained and is not an incessant barker. If interested in adopting Starsky, please request an application. Filling out an application does not guarantee an adoption but is the first step in the forever home placement. Starsky is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and on regular flea & heartworm prevention. An adoption fee applies to all of our rescues so that we can continue to help others in need.
