Story
We believe Dottie to be a strong Dutch Shepherd mix with those ears! All of her 9 pups inherited those ears too. Her pups have already gone into rescue. Now it's Dottie's turn for a forever home. At first , Dottie was scared of everything and everyone, hiding in the dog house whenever her foster was present. She would even take her food dish into the dog house to hide to eat. She LOVES  other dogs! She now plays, polices the yard and goes in and out of the house. She crates very well and walks on a leash. She Is sweet, still a little shy, but loves to be petted and loved on. She needs slow introductions to new people because of her shyness, never has she shown any aggression. She will do great with a loving, active family. Please give Dottie her chance at a forever family. https://bit.ly/codys_adoption_application. ##2418677##

Story
She’s seven months old currently and is full of life and energy. Very alert and attentive to surroundings when out on walks/runs. She does not chase or pull on the leash when she is out on the trail and other people and dogs pass by. Does not bark at other dogs either. She’s a lover for sure and always wants to make sure everyone is okay. Loves to play with pull toys, especially tug of war. We took her in at two/three months old. She does think that she is still small, so her affection sometimes turns hugs into tackles, but lovingly given.

Story
Hi, I`m Nelli! I`m a friendly, sweet, playful, curious, goofy, mellow, and cuddly gal. I love to explore and play, my curiosity knows no bounds! I`m also quite the goofball, making everyone around me chuckle with my antics. When I`m not busy being playful and curious, I`m mellowing out, enjoying a good cuddle. And oh, how I love other dogs! They`re my favorite playmates. When I was brought to the shelter, I was not my best self but the staff here have really made me feel loved and have shown me how great of a dog I am. I have received my vaccines, am spayed, and have been putting on more weight back to a healthy shape. I`m still learning the ropes of potty training, but I promise to try my best. I`m not just a pet, I`m a friend, a companion, a source of endless entertainment and unconditional love. I can`t wait to meet my forever family and fill their lives with joy. Adopt me and let`s start our wonderful journey together!

Story
Meet Saint – A True Survivor Ready for His Forever Home! Saint is a stunning Catahoula/Dutch Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his story. This handsome boy was rescued from a local shelter after being found all alone with a severely broken leg. He was in desperate need of medical care, and thanks to the quick action of Legacy Humane Society and the loving care of his foster family, Saint is now fully recovered and thriving! Now healed and full of life, Saint is ready for his next chapter—with a forever family who will love him as much as he’ll love them. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and fantastic with people and other dogs. (He hasn’t been cat-tested yet, but we’re happy to do so upon request.) Saint is an energetic, athletic pup who lives for playtime. He’s a fan of fetch, tug-of-war, and zoomies, so an active home (and maybe a playful canine sibling) would be perfect for this spirited guy. He plays hard and loves harder! &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Vetting Info: • Neutered • Up to date on vaccinations • Microchipped • Heartworm negative DOB: 4/23/24 &#226&#154&#150&#239&#184&#143 Weight: 45 lbs  Adoption Fee: $125 If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal, loving, and playful pup, Saint is waiting for you! Story
Chazz is a 9-year-old Dutch shepherd. He is intelligent, energetic, excited, loving and kind. He adores big open spaces, running and long walks. He loves to be right by your side as much as he can and does tend to suffer from some separation anxiety. That being said, I am away from home 10 hrs. per day, and he does fine at home alone until I get back.     As amazing as he is he does have his issues. Chazz does not get along well with other dogs. So, any living situation would require that he be in a single dog home. Additionally, he gets rather frightened when the smoke detector goes of causing him to shake and potentially get inside the bathtub.     Chazz is a quirky fella who is full of energy and youth even in his adult age. He would be best suited in a home with a large yard or even a ranch. He still responds well to training and listens quite well to commands. I’m positive that with some eager attention and care he would be an amazing hunting dog or ranch companion.

These pups are in Mesquite, Texas too!

Story
Theo is a two year-old neutered male, 64lb Shepherd mix that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 7/28 as a stray. Like I was saying he has made a complete turnaround because once he did get in the yard, he was galloping, prancing and almost bouncing happily back-and-forth. He was so happy he didn’t even want to come to me for petting. He just wanted to frolic. It was hot out, so I took him back into the meet and greet room. That’s when we became better acquainted. He came to me for petting. He’s real sweet and affectionate. He has love to give and wants to be loved in return. He did his business in the yard, and he may be housebroken. He now walks relatively well on a leash. Besides that he said he would like to snuggle inside on the couch with his new family.

Story
Logan loves the freedom of running in the yard and soaking up a sunny day! There’s so much to adore about this 2-year-old, 77-pound German Shepherd/Husky mix who arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 3/9. He’s a big boy with a gentle, loving nature, full of energy and agility, and always curious about what’s going on around him. Once he’s burned off some energy, he enjoys relaxing with his human and getting plenty of pets. He’ll sit for treats—or take them when he feels like it—and if he’s not interested, he’ll just spit them out! When called from across the yard, he comes running, and his playful side shows, like when he turned putting his leash back on into a game. Logan is affectionate, sweet, well-behaved, and even did his business outside. While he can pull on the leash heading out, he walks back calmly to his kennel. Like most huskies, he loves to run so he’ll need a tall, secure fence and regular brushing. A large space to play and bask in the sun would make him happy, but he’ll also want to come back inside to enjoy the comfort of a loving home.
