Story
My name is Lil Man aka Deuce. Deuce for two since I'm getting a second chance at life after being in the shelter. My foster Dad says I'm living life to the fullest and trying really hard at forgetting my first life. I'm still shy around some people but my foster has been teaching me to be less fearful of strangers. I would love you to help me with slow introductions when I meet new people. People always say how beautiful my brindle coat is. I'm very smart and will sit and speak for my treats, I am learning to play ball and will jump in the air to get it! I'm still working on the bring it back all the time, every time. But I'm working on it! I get along well with other dogs and I'm a great watch dog. I like to make sure my people are safe and taken care of. I love being outside in the sun and playing with my dog foster siblings or other dogs. I love the yard and think being outside is swell. When I come inside I'm a very good boy and don't get on the couch or jump on people. I do like to give little licks and kisses to the people I feel safe with. I have a zest for life and like to go for walks and runs and to play in the river. I'm potty trained and stay out during the day in the sunshine. I always try to ensure the squirrels know I'm the bosss. At night I like to sleep inside with my pals. Whoever adopts me will have to be a little patient and continue working with me on my shyness at times. New things are scary and I need you to show me it's going to be ok. My perfect home would have a nice, fenced yard, and maybe a doggy door so I can go in and out on my own. I'll probably do better with another dog in the household, I really like friends. I would love someone to play fetch with me or take me to the river and swim. I don't mind baths at all either, but I sure don't like cats! I like to keep my food just for me and don't really like to share. I know basic commands and will sit for a treat, or two. I would love to meet you and your resident dog and make some new friends!

Story
Lexi is a gorgeous 2 to 3 year old Dutch Shepherd Aussie Mix, around 50 lbs.  She has been in rescue since January.  Lexi is perhaps the smartest dog we have ever come through our rescue.  She could easily become a service dog with the proper training.  Lexi's superpower is also her great weakness.  She connects with one person and that person is her whole world.  When that person is out her her sight, she gets separation anxiety.  If she can be trained to harness that energy into her service person, Lexi will be the perfect dog.    Lexi  is still a little shy at first, but once she warms up, Lexi is 100% LOVE!  She is very calm, just wants to sit next to someone and feel safe.  She is great on a leash, likes to go for walks, knows basic commands like sit & come and seems to be housebroken.  She sleeps quietly all night in her kennel but wants to be around people as much as possible.  She gets along with other dogs.  She will chase cats.  She is up to date on all her vaccinations and is spayed.   To apply for Lexi:  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57447/generic ##1890632##

Story
This medium sized, brindle coated sweetheart has quickly become a volunteer favorite. Not only is she gorgeous, but she made very quick strides in her behavior and training since she has arrived at the shelter. During doggy play group sessions, Susie Q easily makes friends with the other dogs and exhibits very polite social behavior. She would do excellently with a new sibling to play with, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't love being the center of attention in her new family's home. Volunteers have reported that on walks and doggy day out trips to the park, Susie Q walks like a DREAM, never pulling on the leash and redirecting beautifully. She is committed to her walks and can keep up with more adventurous fitness fanatics, or enjoy the flow of a casual stroll every day. Susie Q is an amazing dog, already started on great training and socialization thanks to her hard work with the shelter staff. She is ready to fit in perfectly to a forever home that can see how great of a family addition she can be. Come down to the shelter and meet her today to see the proof! 🌟🐾HSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight.
