Story
Daxter is a 1.5 year old Dutch shepherd mix. He's a very sweet boy who enjoys playing in the backyard and long walks, but also loves to curl up on the couch and cuddle for hours. We rescued Dax about a year ago and unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances are having trouble giving him the time he needs to be active and have fun and we feel terrible that we aren't able to let him be as active as he likes. Looking for a new home that will be able to give him the play time and cuddles he deserves

Story
My name is Lil Man aka Deuce. Deuce for two since I'm getting a second chance at life after being in the shelter. My foster Dad says I'm living life to the fullest and trying really hard at forgetting my first life. I'm still shy around some people but my foster has been teaching me to be less fearful of strangers. I would love you to help me with slow introductions when I meet new people. People always say how beautiful my brindle coat is. I'm very smart and will sit and speak for my treats, I am learning to play ball and will jump in the air to get it! I'm still working on the bring it back all the time, every time. But I'm working on it! I get along well with other dogs and I'm a great watch dog. I like to make sure my people are safe and taken care of. I love being outside in the sun and playing with my dog foster siblings or other dogs. I love the yard and think being outside is swell. When I come inside I'm a very good boy and don't get on the couch or jump on people. I do like to give little licks and kisses to the people I feel safe with. I have a zest for life and like to go for walks and runs and to play in the river. I'm potty trained and stay out during the day in the sunshine. I always try to ensure the squirrels know I'm the bosss. At night I like to sleep inside with my pals. Whoever adopts me will have to be a little patient and continue working with me on my shyness at times. New things are scary and I need you to show me it's going to be ok. My perfect home would have a nice, fenced yard, and maybe a doggy door so I can go in and out on my own. I'll probably do better with another dog in the household, I really like friends. I would love someone to play fetch with me or take me to the river and swim. I don't mind baths at all either, but I sure don't like cats! I like to keep my food just for me and don't really like to share. I know basic commands and will sit for a treat, or two. I would love to meet you and your resident dog and make some new friends!

Story
Lexi is a gorgeous 2 to 3 year old Dutch Shepherd Aussie Mix, around 50 lbs.  She has been in rescue since January.  Lexi is perhaps the smartest dog we have ever come through our rescue.  She could easily become a service dog with the proper training.  Lexi's superpower is also her great weakness.  She connects with one person and that person is her whole world.  When that person is out her her sight, she gets separation anxiety.  If she can be trained to harness that energy into her service person, Lexi will be the perfect dog.    Lexi  is still a little shy at first, but once she warms up, Lexi is 100% LOVE!  She is very calm, just wants to sit next to someone and feel safe.  She is great on a leash, likes to go for walks, knows basic commands like sit & come and seems to be housebroken.  She sleeps quietly all night in her kennel but wants to be around people as much as possible.  She gets along with other dogs.  She will chase cats.  She is up to date on all her vaccinations and is spayed.   To apply for Lexi:  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57447/generic ##1890632##

Story
Meet our sweet girl Sheila! You've never met a dog who just wants to be loved more than Sheila. She has mastered the sad puppy dog eyes, and is great at convincing you to give her some belly rubs.If you've been following our page for a few years, you may recognize this gorgeous girl. Sweet Sheila has been through a lot in her short life already. She originally came to us after being neglected and living outside, being picked on by other dogs just for trying to eat her food. After being in the shelter for a long while, she was finally adopted out. She lived with what we all thought was her forever family for 3 years, when they suddenly showed up a couple weeks ago and dumped her at our gate. Heartbroken and confused as to why she's back, Sheila wants nothing more than to find her TRUE forever home. With a sensitive nature, Sheila will thrive with someone who is patient and will give her plenty of time to adjust and open up. She is picky about the dogs she likes, and will need to do a meet and greet if you have other dogs in the home. Even after everything she's been through, she is still one of the most loving dogs you will meet. Please share her post and spread the word about Sheila ?? Sheila is a German Shepherd, weighs 73 pounds, and was born on 5/26/2019. She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and flea/tick/heartworm preventative. Sheila must be an indoor dog, meaning she sleeps in the home setting and does not live outside. If you are interested in adopting Sheila, please email bahshelter@yahoo.com. If there are other dogs in your home, we require a meet and greet. Meet and greets can schedule via email at bahshelter@yahoo.com. All of the current pets in your home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Thank you!

Story
Meet Nyx Introducing Nyx! Nyx is a handsome Shepherd (and possibly Collie) mix who is approximately 6 months old and currently weighs 25 pounds. We rescued this little guy, along with his sister Echo from the Weslaco shelter in South Texas near the border of Mexico. These little cuties were found as strays and we are so happy to have them here to help them find their loving,, forever homes. Nyx is a typical happy, playful puppy! He is very sweet and enjoys romping around, exploring his surroundings with his sister here at the rescue. He is curious, social and enjoys being held. Nyx is having fun learning to play with toys and is very smart and cuddly. We can really see him doing well in a home where he can get lot of attention and playtime with his family. As with any puppy, we know Nyx would benefit from basic obedience training to help him learn good manners which will give him a good foundation to be the best puppy he can be. He would be a wonderful companion to grow up in just about any family environment. We have no idea who mom and dad are so we can only estimate that Nx will be a medium to large dog full grown. He is just a fun, happy puppy who can’t wait to find a home of his own! *Nyx tested positive for Chagas disease and has started treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs. For more information, please review here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/chagas Nyx is located at our rescue in Hondo, TX. Prior to adoption, Nyx will be neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations/shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $375. A meet and greet will be arranged with an approved application. If you would like to add this cutie to your family, please review our process and complete an application here - https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Services our dogs receive prior to adoption: Chagas Testing Heartworm and Tick Testing (age appropriate) All age-appropriate vaccines Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives Spay/neuter surgery Microchip *The breed(s) listed are guessed and based on the dog's physical appearance.
