Story
My name is Lil Man aka Deuce. Deuce for two since I'm getting a second chance at life after being in the shelter. My foster Dad says I'm living life to the fullest and trying really hard at forgetting my first life. I'm still shy around some people but my foster has been teaching me to be less fearful of strangers. I would love you to help me with slow introductions when I meet new people. People always say how beautiful my brindle coat is. I'm very smart and will sit and speak for my treats, I am learning to play ball and will jump in the air to get it! I'm still working on the bring it back all the time, every time. But I'm working on it! I get along well with other dogs and I'm a great watch dog. I like to make sure my people are safe and taken care of. I love being outside in the sun and playing with my dog foster siblings or other dogs. I love the yard and think being outside is swell. When I come inside I'm a very good boy and don't get on the couch or jump on people. I do like to give little licks and kisses to the people I feel safe with. I have a zest for life and like to go for walks and runs and to play in the river. I'm potty trained and stay out during the day in the sunshine. I always try to ensure the squirrels know I'm the bosss. At night I like to sleep inside with my pals. Whoever adopts me will have to be a little patient and continue working with me on my shyness at times. New things are scary and I need you to show me it's going to be ok. My perfect home would have a nice, fenced yard, and maybe a doggy door so I can go in and out on my own. I'll probably do better with another dog in the household, I really like friends. I would love someone to play fetch with me or take me to the river and swim. I don't mind baths at all either, but I sure don't like cats! I like to keep my food just for me and don't really like to share. I know basic commands and will sit for a treat, or two. I would love to meet you and your resident dog and make some new friends!

Story
Lexi is a gorgeous 2 to 3 year old Dutch Shepherd Aussie Mix, around 50 lbs.  She has been in rescue since January.  Lexi is perhaps the smartest dog we have ever come through our rescue.  She could easily become a service dog with the proper training.  Lexi's superpower is also her great weakness.  She connects with one person and that person is her whole world.  When that person is out her her sight, she gets separation anxiety.  If she can be trained to harness that energy into her service person, Lexi will be the perfect dog.    Lexi  is still a little shy at first, but once she warms up, Lexi is 100% LOVE!  She is very calm, just wants to sit next to someone and feel safe.  She is great on a leash, likes to go for walks, knows basic commands like sit & come and seems to be housebroken.  She sleeps quietly all night in her kennel but wants to be around people as much as possible.  She gets along with other dogs.  She will chase cats.  She is up to date on all her vaccinations and is spayed.   To apply for Lexi:  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57447/generic ##1890632##

Story
This medium sized, brindle coated sweetheart has quickly become a volunteer favorite. Not only is she gorgeous, but she made very quick strides in her behavior and training since she has arrived at the shelter. During doggy play group sessions, Susie Q easily makes friends with the other dogs and exhibits very polite social behavior. She would do excellently with a new sibling to play with, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't love being the center of attention in her new family's home. Volunteers have reported that on walks and doggy day out trips to the park, Susie Q walks like a DREAM, never pulling on the leash and redirecting beautifully. She is committed to her walks and can keep up with more adventurous fitness fanatics, or enjoy the flow of a casual stroll every day. Susie Q is an amazing dog, already started on great training and socialization thanks to her hard work with the shelter staff. She is ready to fit in perfectly to a forever home that can see how great of a family addition she can be. Come down to the shelter and meet her today to see the proof! 🌟🐾HSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight. Story
Everyone say hello to Nico! Many of you may recognize this cutie. After being at BAHS for over 600 days, he was adopted out last May. Unfortunately, Nico was recently brought back to our shelter due to absolutely no fault of his own. He was very loved in his previous home, but had to part ways with his owner because of unforeseeable living arrangements. We are determined to help Nico find his forever home ASAP so that he doesn’t have to spend as much time in the shelter as he did previously. Our hearts break to see him back here sad and confused. Nico would make an excellent companion and will thrive in a home that is busy with a family ready to take him on plenty of adventures. He is high energy and will do best with an active family! He loves to play with toys, chase a ball around, and lean into you for affection once he’s done playing! Nico can be picky about the dogs he likes, but we have seen him do well with female dogs. This fun loving boy deserves the very best home! We are hopeful that he will find his forever home soon! Nico is a Shepherd mix, weighs 66 pounds, and was born on 3/16/2020. He is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and flea/tick/heartworm preventative. Nico must be an indoor dog, meaning he sleeps in the home setting and does not live outside. If you are interested in adopting Nico, please email bahshelter@yahoo.com. If there are other dogs in your home, we require a meet and greet. Meet and greets can schedule via email at bahshelter@yahoo.com. All of the current pets in your home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.Thank you!

Story
Meet our sweet girl Sheila! You’ve never met a dog who just wants to be loved more than Sheila. She has mastered the sad puppy dog eyes, and is great at convincing you to give her some belly rubs.If you’ve been following our page for a few years, you may recognize this gorgeous girl. Sweet Sheila has been through a lot in her short life already. She originally came to us after being neglected and living outside, being picked on by other dogs just for trying to eat her food. After being in the shelter for a long while, she was finally adopted out. She lived with what we all thought was her forever family for 3 years, when they suddenly showed up a couple weeks ago and dumped her at our gate. Heartbroken and confused as to why she’s back, Sheila wants nothing more than to find her TRUE forever home. With a sensitive nature, Sheila will thrive with someone who is patient and will give her plenty of time to adjust and open up. She is picky about the dogs she likes, and will need to do a meet and greet if you have other dogs in the home. Even after everything she’s been through, she is still one of the most loving dogs you will meet. Please share her post and spread the word about Sheila ?? Sheila is a German Shepherd, weighs 73 pounds, and was born on 5/26/2019. She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and flea/tick/heartworm preventative. Sheila must be an indoor dog, meaning she sleeps in the home setting and does not live outside. If you are interested in adopting Sheila, please email bahshelter@yahoo.com. If there are other dogs in your home, we require a meet and greet. Meet and greets can schedule via email at bahshelter@yahoo.com. All of the current pets in your home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Thank you!

Story
This cutie is Charlie! After being found as a stray, you can tell Charlie is so happy to be taken care of now. He can be a little shy at first, but warms up quickly. Once you give him some treats and show him some love, he opens up and his true affectionate personality shines! From what we have observed so far, Charlie seems to be good with other dogs. The shelter setting is scary for this sweet boy and he desperately needs to find his forever home ?? Charlie deserves to be curled up in a loving home with his people! Charlie is a Shepherd mix, weighs 53 pounds, and was born on 4/1/2020. Before adoption, he will be neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and flea/tick/heartworm preventative.
