Story
🐾BRUTUS🖤 Brutus is a 2 year old Dutch Shepherd/Lab mix according to his embark testing! He’s a big cuddly goofball and loves to make his humans laugh! 🥰 This lanky boy is very smart and loves to do training/learn new things and keep his brain busy, which makes sense with his awesome breed mix! He’s very affectionate and loves to follow his person around and cuddle. He rides great in the car and is fully crate and housetrained. 💯 Brutus is a great swimmer and loves to play fetch in the water, his foster is currently training him for dock diving! Despite being very active and having lots of energy he has a great off switch, too. He can get excited very easily and has some manners that need work but his foster mama is having so much fun training him & he’s learning quickly. 🐶 If you’re interested in dog sports, Brutus would be a great match for you! Especially if you’re a beginner - he is so eager to learn and please.🥰 For his forever family, Brutus is seeking an active home with someone who is willing to keep up with his training and give him plenty of exercise. He thrives when staying active both physically and mentally. He does great with all sizes of dogs & older kids. He is a very social boy and would do great with some dog friends in his home! 🏡 Does Brutus sound like the adventure buddy you’ve been looking for? 🫶🏼 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
Roma Local is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Roma is incredibly smart, a quick learner, and loves to play. She needs an adult-only home where she can be the sole focus—NO other pets. Due to her energy and need for space, apartments aren’t the right fit. Breed experience and a commitment to her continued training are essential for this sweet girl to reach her full potential. After spending almost two years in boarding, she’s enjoying life in her foster home, but she’s ready for her forever family! Story
Berkeley Robinson is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Berkely is a special girl that will slowly and quietly work her way into your heart. Having spent most of her first year living outside with minimal human interaction she is slowly learning that being inside is pretty nice and humans can be too! Berkeley loves puppies and enjoys romping and playing with them in her foster home. She requires a fenced yard. She extremely shy and skittish (flight risk at first), but will open up over time once she builds trust and feels safe. Once she trusts you she will come to you for pets and love. She needs a very patient adopter willing to give her the time to adjust and trust, but it is well worth it. She is incredibly sweet. She will benefit from professional training to help her continue to make progress. Teens and older only, busy kids are too much for her. She'd also prefer a quieter household while she settles in, too many visitors make her nervous. Story
Boone Robinson is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Boone is a 1-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing about 58 lbs. Having spent most of his first year outside with other dogs rather than people, Boone thrives in the company of a fur friend. He is housebroken, doesn't bark, has no separation anxiety, and is not destructive. Boone does experience anxiety with new things, new people, and new noises. However, he's shown improvement with the use of a calming collar and Purina Pro Care Calming supplements. Inside the house, Boone is very low-key and prefers to stay in one spot, never needing to be crated. Boone is looking for a patient and understanding home that can provide him with the companionship he craves and help him continue to build confidence. Could you be the perfect match for Boone?
